All geared up

and down the mountain they will go after
a selfie of course.
And the moose. Love the moose.
I need more from my pal Holli - Oh Holliiiiiii!!!
I didn't notice the bent astrick there.
Sigh.
I finally got to use some enamel dots that
say things like "BRRR", A wool hat, and snowflakes
because that'll happen in Florida LOL
I haven't seen any trick shots on this run
so I'm guessing everyone was having fun doing their thing.

The big 10

That magical double digit number that almost
makes you a kid and not a little kid.
I picked this paper because the symbols looked
like a Q to me.
I decided to highlight them on the page in case
I was wrong but I could still make them look like a Q.
The orange color was plucked from
Quintin's, the birthday boy's, tee shirt.
Let me know what you think.
It's an 8x8 size for the mom's album.
Love that camera.
I have a package of them and OHMY - no bottlecap.
It wasn't like I didn't try.
LOL.

Stamping with frenzy

LOL!
AS if I can do it any other way.
These are really really really old Technique Tuesday stamps.
And all these stamps come on a 3x4 on clear plastic.
So I liked all the words and decided to just ink that baby up
and stamp away.
I need to work on my technique, but in my defense
it sort of worked out.
Reality and mind really need to work better together.
Anyhoo, since it was wild on the left side I kept it
simple on the right side and the photo
was soooooo cool it didn't need much.
So the grands - Cavin is quite the football player
and Quintin and Amelia quite the cheerleaders.

4th page for NSD - On a roll

Love this fun happy paper and it really worked
well with some diecuts as well.
Trimmed it down to 8x8 for mom's album.
Did a fun cluster at the top and since I started NSD
I've been trying not to overthink things so I decided
to keep that thought rolling.
I found it gets better as I go - but I haven't reached
the level of adhere and plunk like Adele
over at Inky Quill.
Fussy cut those hearts out and happened
upon those chipboard words that are really fun
and don't the colors work out well.
Funny how that works when its all in a kit or same line.
Studio Calico and some die cuts from
the previous cut die cut box.

Looks like everyone is snacking but Tuesday.
I'm sure some sharing was going on.

It started with a watercolor background

It totally did.
Different shades of blue/green in
stripes in the background that I promptly
covered up.
I know you're surprised.
Also went into a stamping frenzy with some
Studio Calico birthday stamps and
broke out the magic mesh. I like that stuff and
only have a little left.
Is it still around?
Also used a lot of different color blues.

I would've love to have a donut here but alas, this cupcake
has been hanging in the stash too long
so there you have it.
Quintin and Amelia have birthdays within a week of each other
so I thought I'd toss their photos together for
their mom's album and because they looked like fun
together.

Sport season ends

And it ends with a sequence photo of all the
kidlet participants.
The parents should have a sequence photo toting
them all around. Just sayin.....
Anyhoo, I don't have a cameo but I love the cutouts
so I try to fake with the QK cookie cutter diecuts.
These are are the squares that I happen to die cut in bulk
all different colors which turned out great
in the B&W area.
Love those Nuvo enamel dots you can make them any size you want.
Love the misted background that gave a splash of color
along with the enamel dots.
Got that big hash tag (or should I say pound sign LOL) from
Studio Calico and did some bulk cuts on that
and used two different colors offset to add a bit of dimension.
So then with all the busy-ness going on I forgot
even the minimal journaling and used my ticket punch
to handle that.

All the kidlets completed their season.

The start of back to school photos

Not going to take up the entire week
and still waiting on some photos from the last 2.
I was also distracting myself as favorite youngest son
was taking his CDL test.
He passed!!!
woohooo!!
There'll be a page about that.

Started out with my new Studio Calico kit papers.
And man did I dither around.
While distracting myself I couldn't make up my mind
about anything and wasn't that annoying.
Did some layering here and added the
"wise ole owl" (which you'll be seeing again).
Also used the card that came in the kit
however, these papers came from August kit.
Love how it all works together.
Brought down the corner and star colors to
this end for the "triangle."
Brought a bit of the red over from the left side.
and that tag is creative cafe.
I can't believe I still have some left.
The kidlets seem to be excited, but they weren't on the bus yet.
LOL.
Oh and some Heidi shine gold mist.

A heritage photo sort of

Actually its more of a comparison photo all in one.
So I started with this wordy paper from Studio Calico
and some Tim Holtz embellishment pack.
Don't you love that hat.
I have to admit I got carried away with the layering.
It was like I couldn't stop.

And I jumped back on the button bandwagon.
And might I point out that itty bitty gold heart.
If you'll remember I posted a page of Quintin with his dad in
that little mini book for mom.
It appears that the apples don't fall far from the tree.
How cool is that.
Triplets.

Little mini done!

Remember this post on what to do with overwhelming scraps
well this is book #3. Book #1 went to my pal Holli
and she's still working on it.
However, this is done, finis, complete and love how it turned out.
This is for Jill and I hope she likes it.

I also apologize for the photos as the book is chockfull of stuff
and it wants to pop open at random times....
so therefore, my finger is holding it down and focus
is a bit iffy.

I used an enormous amount of PL cards and
do-dads and those gi-normous letters
as their initials.

Lots of stash and packaging done and in the garbage
and used!
Love how it turned out.
Jill sends lots of photos and lately I had been greedy
doing a bunch for me, so I decided
that an album would be fun rather than random pages.

I didn't realize until after I started how many pages were in the book.
Towards the end, I started stapling some together
because honestly, not that I didn't have enough photos BUT
it really would've been TOO much.
As it is, its already fat and won't lay flat and I'm still
trying to figure out how to "close" it per se.
I'm not sure I have anything strong enough to hold
and also not look real dumb.
Any thoughts?

Artful pages

Thankfully art is alive and well in schools and
my grandkids are quite talented artists.
So it was really fun to document
and today I have created two layouts
for your blogreading delight.
So how about that adorable pup.
He's a very old Technique Tuesday stamp.
Again I used most of my Studio Calico
and Creative Cafe stamps around this page
 and
because that wasn't busy enough
I threw in the Tim Holtz stencil, using yellow paint
with modeling paste.
Added a few do-dads namely my homemade enamel dots, arrows and a heart sticker and called it a day.
Kraft paper is the base cut down to 8x8
And honestly all 3 artists made some mighty fine art
AND I WANT THEIR ART FOR SCRAPBOOK PAGES.
How cool would that be....
I didn't want to be a copy cat on the second page
so I lifted once again a prize ribbon from Soaphouse Mama
- she does them all the time and what better
embellie could there be but that.
And I cut the circles myself - mostly because I didn't have
punches that nested that closely and I'm normally not that brave LOL.
The little bird is from some no-name embellishments
I picked up at Michael's and
those stars are from Studio Calico kit and finally
used them babies all up.
Yay!!!
Because it was a wild background that I keyed off
of from the artwork I gessoed where the photo and do-dads are
and found I liked it just fine and left it there.
The heart arrow is wooden - and stuck out like a sore thumb
in its pure form so I smooshed some watercolors
around to match the stars and wa-la.
Worked out well.

Reworking a PL card and blog technical difficulties

Somehow in the creation of this page it
was published without me being aware of it until
I saw it in google+ that linked to nowhere.
I couldn't find it anywhere in/on or around my blog.
Which was very weird.
So I removed it from google+ and am now
reposting - so my apologies if you've seen it before and
went nowhere.
I am baffled as to how it happened, however, we all know
that technology works in mysterious ways.

So here is another page done in Soaphouse Mama style with
lots of bits and pieces with some mixed
media tossed in because why not.
Is that owl not adorable?
Its and old Technique Tuesday stamp that I've had forever.
Below is the card I wanted to use originally,
however, I felt the color wasn't quite right.
As if, when you look - the colors aren't exactly matchy-matchy.
So......
Using some bazzill cardstock, a star die cut from my
die cut box and a white pen.
Wa-la!
(I know....me and a white pen, drawing lines just boggles the minds
doesn't it LOL).
The the collage photo - showing from birth to 8.
This page is a bit chaotic and I'm finding I like it.
Studio Calico, dies, stamps, and another non-themed paper
rocks the birthday world.

Mixed media birthday page

Another birthday celebration and again, in Soaphouse Mama style.
Bits and pieces, with scraps and some mixed media
tossed in because I could.
 Isn't that owl adorable.
A Technique Tuesday stamp I had forever.
The card with the star is homemade and I lifted the
idea from this PL card and using bazzil cardstock and
a star from my die cut box - well it worked out
really well when the
colors on the card below wasn't quite right.
I did pop up the star and used my white pen (I know) to give some dimension
and added more bits and pieces.
Laid down some gesso (which I need to get some clear
it appears) and used the packaging technique
to lay on the mists.
The blues aren't quite right but I like the
bright fun colors so its all good.
I love the collage photo - again the same as Amelia's
from birth to 8 and another birthday page
not using "themed" papers.
Its kinda of wild-I like that.
