Mixed Media - Can one have too much glitter

Why no, no one who thinks that can be a friend.
Who needs that negativity.
Well this pre done page had Nuvo sparkly dots
and rubbed it all over in the background.
I couldn't leave the sun and clouds unscathed.
Arthur is a Tim Holtz production die that has such personality
it blows one's mind.
It's a lot of fun to put all 16 pieces together.
Mind boggling actually.
Some are soooo tiny - they're gonna be lost forever.
Sigh.
I have enough trouble to keep track of big dies.
Heavy sigh.
Anyway, There are some boo-boos going on there but
for a first time putting this bad boy together
it turned out not so bad.
As noted, the dies are numbered and HAVE colors on them.
Well, there are 6 major body dies that are purple
that I'm sure run the shades.
I didn't have that many purple shades.
Only pink.
Arthur looks quite manly in pink, gotta say.
Of course I had pieces left over because that's mostly how I roll.
Actually the branch was the easiest part to put together.

I HAD TO DO THIS TONGUE IN CHEEK PAGE.
My attitude putting the pieces together
just SCREAMED it LOL.

QK holiday alphas, tim holtz, unknown pack of alphas and numbers.
Love that booklet.

Mixed Media - Solo'd

Favorite eldest son is a daredevil, adrenaline junkie, and all
around crazy....
He just passed his test on jumping out of a perfectly good airplane
and landing in one piece so now he can rock
the 'chute all by himself.
Sigh.
Lots of prayers going on...
Just sayin....
Anyhoo, proud of him, love that he pursues his passions.
He also rocks the camera too.

Tim Holtz, watercolors, spicy chicken, ephemera,
my art stencil, studio calico, unknown stuff (sorry).

Mixed Media album - Merry Christmas in July

Christmas in July seems to have made the big time
and more people are celebrating.
Here are the grandsons representing in their
favorite grinch shirts.
I love the grinch.
So the pink and the red - meh - this was a premade
page that needed a photo - so ignored the red and I concentrated on
all the greens and got to USE a lot of stash.
Yasss!!!
Didn't need a lot of journaling and if one opens
the file folder
(a die cut which makes me swoon)
there are some TH sayings...

Love how fun it turned out.

Travelers Notebook - Gertrude & Boardwalk

My pal Holli gifted me Gertrude and of course,
once it came in the mail I had to put
her together. She, too, has
a lot of moving parts and can be quite
the puzzle to put together.
I had leftovers.
Just sayin...
Gertrude totally fits in this 4x6 PL card and using
ephemera - my card that got me on the sky ride
is perfect for Gertrude to embrace.
ON the backside is a cool PL card "take note"
where I added my journaling.
I printed the photos 1.9x1.9 to get them all on 4x6 photo paper.
Added a couple of bits.
Love it!!!
It was fun to document our girl's night on the boardwalk.
We were soooo wild.
LOL.

Travelers Notebook - My boyz

I have a unique set up in our RV/Coach/Home where my
scrapbook supplies are out there on my desk.

It ain't packed and stowed
.
So I keep my TN and mixed media album available and as
I stand or walk by I toss things about.
I love designing that way.
Anyway, I had the "wanderlust" photo/card for awhile a
long while and no idea the mfg.  and
never found the perfect spot so I made one.
For no particular reason.
and I also had just purchased those butterflies die (TH ofcourse)
so they neeeeded to be used.
I also purchased that circle/bubble die which is like all one
swoon - I can make my own "cutfile" which for some reason I left empty.
Anyway, what better manly thing to add to a page of my boys
than butterflies and bubbles.

Mixed Media - Bold colors

I also made this page ahead of time and when a former
co-worker and pal of mine who took this picture of me
in our work space many many years ago
1980ish and felt it was perfect with my red dress.
And didn't my dress/outfit SCREAM to go on this page.
Of course it needed some taming so I added
the big envelope - I tried red (as I do have red ones) but
it was too much and the blues didn't match.
Love all the little deets that did tame, the flower bouquet
and the dictionary paper and that doily.
I love doilies.
On the fun side I did journal about my "catch phrase" at work.
This was back in the 80's and one had to catch the phone
by the third ring. I was their secretary, however,
when tied up and unable to answer
I felt it necessary to sing out "get that it could be the phone"
due to their lack of attention lol.
Not really their job unless it was THEIR phone.

dylusions paints swirled with a paint brush
no talent necessary

Travelers Notebook - "This is life"

I made the tag 'just because' and I figured one day
I'd get to use it and today is that day.
Took this photo of my main man and the tag
totally expresses the man he is.
We have an amazing life.
Anyway, we were having fun on the boardwalk.
I decided that the photos didn't need a page per se
so I rooted through my numerous PL cards
and found the perfect one.
I didn't like the other side - so I stapled another PL
card I liked better and added
 more mushy stuff.
I was going to leave it just like that but....
 I just couldn't lol.
Too much white space.
Therefore, I just added stuff I had hanging around.
No rhyme No reason.
OH and I tucked a tag in between the PL cards
in case I wanted to add more deets.

Mixed Media - Playing around

I started this page out with the purple going on using the
packaging technique. And I let it set awhile
because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it
especially when I saw that it "looked" like a horse.
It was totally an unplanned, swirl like you mean it accident.
Of course getting caught up in all things Tim Holtz
I stumbled upon Dina Whakey and she has the coolest
artistic stuff going on and some of it involves
scribbles.
I decided to give it a try.
My horse has two mouths.
Used some TH stamps, ephemera/

Mixed Media - "no beauty shines brighter than that of a good heart"

Love how this turned out.
You may remember I did this page ahead of time
in a "just because I could" frame of mind.
Using inks and watercolors with stencils I had
trying to make a "scene."
The sun that I drew and the clouds I made were from
thread.
And it looked stupid.
So I pulled them all off the page which then required
some covering up.
The sun I tried to fix it with just wasn't quite right
but I had this doily thingy for cake decorating more or less
The clouds were stamped on cardstock and I
had the creative moment in swishing white paint across the clouds.
Love the photo of Annie and Owen but the background
had a lot going on AND I screwed up the
photo after it was printed and no covering that up.
SO...I fussy cut it out.
I'm liking that look.
Having them framed on top of a bird looked fun.
I had to cover up the original TH sentiment because it didn't
go with the photo.
I also decided a title wasn't required.

Mirrored Monochromatic TN pages

I've been checking out a bunch of traveler notebook peeps
and I adore their simple yet elegant posts.
Very minimal.
I have trouble with minimal.
Obviously.
So I took these pictures this morning and really couldn't
wait to scrap them. However, I kept piling things on.
Actually, this is not as simple as the others.
I kept the 3x2 pictures on the 4x6 photo paper because
A. I can't cut straight (not that sraight is important
but every now and then it's nice.
B. I wanted to try minimal.
C. It just screamed monochromatic.

Well - the left is the back of the first page of the book and I really
didn't want black again so why not white.
And then the rest just sort of evolved - not quickly,
but here we are.
Love the stamping (Studio Calico, Recollections, Tim Holtz.

Pokegama - my first page in new TN

Well one is the inside cover page using a quote and bird
and my new sissix die.
Love the bubbles.
These photo are a compilation of my walks when
we camped in the Pokegama campground.
I enjoyed the walks a lot - mostly 3 miles or more
which I sooooo needed to do.
If you haven't read my FB post - I actually walked deeper
into the forest and there were trails.
The trails were basically roads that wound about BUT
there are all kinds of road - I figured to stay on the outer loop
which shouldn't be too hard.
Famous last word.
I got a tad turned around trying to figure which road to take.
I decided on a road and when I looked down
there was a deer looking at me looking at her.
I tried sneaking closer to get a photo but she was quite shy.
When I got to the place where the deer was I happened to look
up on a tree and there was a sign that said Tioga Spur.
It jogged my memory from the map I read.
Took that road and actually knew where I was when of course
there's another "fork in the road."
I happened to look left and low and behold another deer
(or maybe the same one because she wanted me out of there LOL)
looking at me looking at her and again
trying to get that photo.
Well the photo didn't turn out too bad, and she
happened to be on the road I needed to get home.
How cool is that.
