Traveler's Notebook - Tote

I have been jonesing for this tote for awhile.
I love Duluth Trading. They are a tad expensive
but their quality rocks.
I have purchased their clothing line.
Well made and last forever.
So....
I had the smaller version of this tote.
It's actually purse/pocketbook.
Well. Love all the pockets, the durability,
and cuteness but it was too small.
On the road.
It's the grapefruit color. A really neat kind of corally orange.
Why be boring eh?
So I broke out my Button's galore, prima flower
and the mushroom.
Swoon.
Using a Studio Calico stamp or two and cutting them out
made really need "words".
Also the glassine bag - I kept it folded and then sliced that top
and glued down the flap and tucked a journaling tag
inside. I think it's rather neat.

Anyway I love my tote.
Yeah it's heavy but it carries stuff that in using the
smaller purse, its still heavy and just being juggled which is
very annoying.

The San Diego Zoo page

Since it was so much fun to do the Pima Air Force
Museum page on their map of the facilities
I decided that the San Diego Zoo map of the facilities
would totally rock the page again.
Finally got to use the vellum hearts, and that paper
clip flamingo.
I love flamingos.
And let's not forget the flair. I've been trying
to use that for awhile.
And of course the tickets, even my darling
sweet husband knows to hand over tickets and other
embellies at the end of the ride.
He's actually very good at that.
I had a lot of fun photos that I couldn't make a decision on
so I decided a collage was required on a 4x6
photo paper.
It turned out really quite well.
Didn't really need a lot of journaling.

Traveler's Notebook - Happy Easter

I love this bunny.
It is a stamp, one that my pal Holli owns and
I love that she shares.
So I stamp a lot of these bunnies on white and cream
cardstock and then I fussy cut and they are so
cute you can tuck them anywhere.
Since this was an Easter page, the bunny totally rocks.
The bunny is resting on a premade tag.
Love it when a plan comes through.
 LOL!
Owen & Annie looking so grown up in their Easter outfits.
When.did.that.happen.

Studio Calico pattern paper, Recollections cardstock, fussy
cut from a PL card.

Travelers' Notebook - Party!

I know it seems to the young that things are going sooooo slow
but in reality, their birthdays come fast and furious.
I used a lot of stamps, fussy cutting and of course
I had to pop them up.

And Miss Amelia - turning 8.
Really when did that happen and did it go fast or what.
She looks soooo grown up.
No more little "little" girl anymore.

Studio Calico.

Preserving a lovely invitation

Unfortunately, we weren't able to attend this most
important event in Annie's life but
we were already headed west, and the weather
up north was so not conducive for our coach.

Using die cuts and some Studio Calico leaves, along with
using watercolors with the packaging technique
provided a wonderful background and embellishments
to an already pretty invite.
Using white recollection cardstock, rounding the corners to match,
I didn't want to get too carried away because it really didn't
need too much.
And don't those gold itty bitty butterflies make you swoon.

Campground Pages

I decided to go easy on the colors because
well - the pages were UGLY.
Coyote UGLY.
So I had already gessoed it and went with that.
 Finally USED that CACTUS.
Woohoo!
We really enjoyed this camp, our friends Paul and Sharon
camped there and we had a lot of fun.
After 10 days we moved to the Pio Pico
and that is a lovely camp, just a lot of hoop
jumping to get there.
Lots of leftovers and washi tape.
Guess who didn't let the writing dry before
slapping their arm on because she
decided that a doodly border was needed.
We're gonna be here for awhile exploring San Diego.
Fun stuff already.

Traveler's Notebook - Cousins

Got to meet up with my cousin and we had a wonderful
time tripping down memory lane and doing
the ancestry.com thing.
So I made the title using the same papers that
I used for the photo mat.
It was kinda bland so I took a gelato that happened
to match.
Who knew.
Broke out some primas and recollections flowers.
I mostly used stuff I had already die cut or punched out.
How fun is that.
AND I cutout those circles by hand.
Gasp*faint*thud*
Lots of journaling.
Love how it turned out - very girlie.

We also toured the Air Force Museum

That had every plane and then some under it's roof.
Including some Russian MG's.
So there's the infamous blue tag, that was made for
the previous page.
It works here which is just as well as I didn't
want to re-write the journaling because
sometimes you only get it right once.
Why tempt fate.
I used the map of the museum as my
'page' because it was cool and why not.
And there's my title with popped up jets.
Love that they had fun with the planes and
the faces they had.
It was already quite busy so I kept everything
to a minimum.
I broke out the ole die cut machine for that eagle.
And don't it work perfect.
That is placed strategically on the Arizona State
from The Paper Studio.
46 more to go.
 LOL.

Project lifestyle - Titan Missile Museum

It was really cool to see.
How the cold war was kept at bay.
I used some Studio Calico envelope for the journaling
and to add the sticker I found at the gift shop.
 Funny story.
I actually was supposed to have a blue tag
that came out sideways and you could
read it easily.

Well.

I mixed up the journaling because I happened
to be doing the 2 pages at the same time.
 Almost quite the multitasker so
when I discovered what I did, I switched tags.
Fortunately the blue tag goes well with the new one.
Anyway, this missile site is the last one of it's nature
still standing.
Never firing, but still standing.

There were a bunch around Arizona and surrounding states
they have all be removed except for this one.
Really cool history.

Peace through deterence.

Project LIfe style - Stockyards

We had a great time at the Stockyards poking into
shops, strolling the streets and BBQ.
So of course it had to be documented in a PL
format instead of popping it into my traveler's notebook.
Do these wooden embellies make you swoon.
Yea me too.
They are itty bitty.
Of course I'll share -
Jillybean Soup
Love how this turned out.
I traced the tag from one I had it my stash but
wasn't the right colors.

The 2 tags were from my stash and the one my
handwriting is on - just whacked it out of some scraps.

Simple.

Project Life page - That Day

Love the USA state stickers
from the Paper Studio and this Texas state
was perfect for this layout.
Going to Dealey Plaza was interesting and fascinating
at the same time.
It's sad it had to be commemorated at all
but it's a wonderful memorial.
Also used Studio Calico, & AC alphas that I wished
I bought another package of.

Shopping trip.

Mixed media MacMillen RV Park

Texas campgrounds are very bare bones.
And that's okay, we just needed a place to hang for a
few days.
Crazy winds were a-coming and high profile
vehicles were asked to lay low for the next few days.

So we did.
Not a lot of embellishes in this park but
we had a full hook up and I was more than happy with that.

But basically it was a parking lot.
We hunkered down, and I had a lovely visit
with my cousin Patty where we stayed up way late
and caught up on family and exchanged a bunch of
ancestry stuff.
Very fun, and now I have ancestry stuff to keep me busy.

Dylusions, Studio Calico.

Went a bit crazy with the paints.

I'm not sure why because it was awhile ago, but
I know I had a really good reason.
Or maybe I was playing because I was tired of being
boring. LOL.
Anyway, using some Dylusions I added
quite a few colors to an otherwise white page.
I fussy cut out the map and did a lot of stamping as well.
Well isn't it supposed to be messy?
Nailed it!

This turned out to be a favorite camp because it was
so unique. Very fun camping in the sand.
And it wasn't as crazy as I thought it would be.
Sand did not get everywhere.

My thought was I took pix of this camp because it was different
and fun. Why did I not think of adding a photos
to the other camps, hmmm?
It would be helpful in the future when we're looking at
returning to some of the camps we enjoyed
to explore further.

Well DOH. 😮

Pinterest - Comes through again

How adorable is this happy face
birthday card.
So easy to do and so fun.
Layers, circles and washi tape.
And googly eyes.

Studio Calico birthday stamp that
I use a lot.
Love the confetti look and
carried over some of the layers.
I am please to announce - I have all the cards in the mail.
Woohoo!!!

The Adventure Begins

Of course I had to document the beginning of our adventure.
It did start months back with the advent of our
major decision to go on the road.
Whelp.
We are on the road.
As of yet, our house hadn't sold.
But we couldn't wait.
Got this cool shot of our coach in our campsite.
Since I had issues with the printer - (what a surprise)
I managed to print two of the same photos.
So I fussy cut our coach out and pop dotted it.
It's so fun to see it out and about in a camp.
Of course, I had to document it.
I had fun with the layers and the splatter.

Studio Calico, Pink Fresh.
Love how this page turned out.

That Day in Dallas

History.
I love history and who isn't still fascinated with
the Kennedy assassination.

This is the Texas Book Depository.
Two floors chockfull of information and photos.
Dealey plaza from the grassy knoll.
There are two X's on the street.
The X closer to the bottom were the first shots
and the 2nd X is the fatal shot.
The grassy knoll.
The sixth floor window that Oswald shot from.
This is a replica of the rifle he used.
The actual rifle is housed at the National Archives.
The window next to the window where Oswald actually shot from.
Quite a shot.
This diorama shows the line of the bullets.
These are just highlights.
There are movie screens, picture boards and artifacts
 with lots of information.
It's quite overwhelming actually.
So.much.stuff.
A young man joined us in the elevator and said that
he was astounded. I asked if it was good or bad astounding.
He said good, that it all just consumed and
overwhelmed him. Quite emotional.
I told him that the assassination consumed a lot of people
for a long, long time.
