4th page for NSD - On a roll

Love this fun happy paper and it really worked
well with some diecuts as well.
Trimmed it down to 8x8 for mom's album.
Did a fun cluster at the top and since I started NSD
I've been trying not to overthink things so I decided
to keep that thought rolling.
I found it gets better as I go - but I haven't reached
the level of adhere and plunk like Adele
over at Inky Quill.
Fussy cut those hearts out and happened
upon those chipboard words that are really fun
and don't the colors work out well.
Funny how that works when its all in a kit or same line.
Studio Calico and some die cuts from
the previous cut die cut box.

Looks like everyone is snacking but Tuesday.
I'm sure some sharing was going on.

Using diecuts for this page

I have an array of sissix and quickutz dies and
decided - why not. (also punches)
There are times - alot of times, actually, I can't find or don't
have in my possession the
premade embellishments that I want
or that go with the photo/page I'm creating so
I've been digging into my stash.
The generic ones can be precut ahead of time and I do
have a box full of them.
Sometimes they work- sometimes they don't either. LOL.
So I do cut out white - they seem to work best and
then "jazzed" these up with some watercolors because
they appeared too "stark" for this page.
And these buttons - are sooooo cool.
Love all the goodies you get in the jar.
These are from Buttons galore and this jar
comes with all these colors, the sequins and those
itty bitty glassy thing up on the flower.
Tossed some mist about.
Here's Annie and Lucy taking a great photo.
They never take a bad pix.
(which is totally annoying to those of us that do LOL)

Acetate embellishments

Just a bit of a cluster going on and you can
see the acetate asterisks (say that 3 times fast) and triangles
sprinkled all over the page.
In fact, I may have used the entire pack as they've
been the stash for a long time.
The paper came this way which is totally
fun as I didn't need to use the packaging technique
that for some reason has been a disaster for me.
Love this photo.

She's a hot mess.
LOL.

Doilies, Doodles & Sequins OH my

On a page celebrating the granddog's birthday.
And what a fun party it was!
Love the little ticket I fussy cut out of WRMK PL card.
I can't remember were those feathers came from.
and what's a party without balloons.
Using a heart punch and some twine - because
the balloon die cut I have is way too big for the page.
So how fun is this!
August looks so dignified in his party hat
and so well behaved.
And the kids are having a blast.

Different/Not Different

in a layout/design perspective but once it was completed
it looks like all my other pages.
 Shocking right?

I actually follow a bunch of designers that make beautiful
pages that are really really different from my pages.
I admire those that a. rock the mixed media, b. rock the minimalist look
with few well placed embellishments c. rock the layering.
However, I do love the outcome.
Studio Calico mostly.
Family photo that is so adorable.
Love August and I'm betting she was the best behaved too.

Fixing up an unwanted smudge

Nothing worse than having an accident on an almost completed page.
Sigh.
In the upper left corner where that flower sits innocently
I was adding some Nuvo dots.
I was quite successful adding them on the right side of the flower
and down by the butterfly but on the left side
the dots ran together and looked like a bug so I took
a wipe and made a huge black smudge
that no amount of cleaning up was gonna make it right.

Of course I was annoyed, really annoyed.
Since I cut the paper down to 8x8 I had extra so I cut
a 1/2 inch piece and decided to run it all the way down the side.
Which looked well stupid.
UNTIL
I added stitching and now it looks like I meant to do that.
Love it when a plan comes together.
Cough cough.

Seriously busy paper

Which sometimes you just gotta go for it.
I used a couple of branding strips as background to
ground the photo and embellies.
Used different textures in clusters to help with the focal point.
And an adorable photo to bring it all together.
So the majority is Studio Calico papers, wood veneers, enamel hearts & dots,
with Bella Blvd heart, and Creative cafe buttons.

Some old Basic Grey for a boy page

I really love Basic Grey - that was always
almost my go to paper when I was
scrapped. I'm still bummed it went out of business.
When I saw this photo of Owen and Lucy I knew
that this really old paper would do the trick.
It has the outdoor feel as well as leaning toward "manly."
That PL card is also perfect as an additional title
and that little bird still slays me.
A PL card at the top also adds to the "journaling."
Add tidbits on the side to kind of balance out all the
action that happening in the middle of the page.
It turned out to be a fun page with the photo
in between all the "fireworks" of brown that also highlight
the photo and all the action down the middle!

Lucy is such a sweet dog and adores her kidlets.
She loves me too - always greeting me by knocking me off my feet. LOL.
Its also really neat to have a photo of their house in the background.

There is a dog in the photo

Truly.
Which is why the title is "these 4".
Thought I'd lay that out right out of the gate.
Love that they're all piled up.
Therefore I piled all my embellies up.
Using paper from my new Studio Calico kit.
 Along with some stash.
Is that clock not adorable?
And its 8x8 page.

Family pets are people too

The latest addition to my kidlets family.
August the Vizsla.
He's very pretty and photogenic.
So of course he gets his own page in the family album.
I want to pet him and keep him and love him.

Do any of you remember Auggie Doggy and Doggy Daddy cartoon?
Yeah me too, only I remember it from TV Land.
They debuted on the Quick Draw McGraw show and although
they were dauschands it still applies because
its all about the name.

I have a mix of papers going on - Studio Calico, stamps, punches, and thickers.
I stamped and used watercolors over the area as well as Heidi Swapp mists.
Layered papers - I love layered papers and some Scotch waship tape.
