Challenge #3 - Brooke & Lynn rocks it-totally

Having a BLAST!!!!
We both love how our challenge turned out.
This was the sketch for Brooke

8"circle as background
cardstock
design your own pattern paper
watercolors
something handmade

She totally nailed it and
I LOVE THE TITLE.
Awesome play on words involving her hubby.

and in her words.....
So, it's on 9x12 watercolor paper. Background done with oxides and shimmer mists, with various stencils, bubble wrap. Strips under pic also done on watercolor paper. One is embossed with scales them misted with shimmer mist. Other one is done with handmade "wave" border with oxides. Oxide colors used are speckled egg, broken China, pumice stone, black soot and blueprint sketch. Shimmer mists are patina, sea glass, honeydew mist and walnut shine. Even added some magic mesh!

Brooke's challenge for me:
Nuvo glimmer spray
heat emboss title
envelope
6 different color cardstock
3 washi tape

WELL.....I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!
It was so much fun.
So I did use 6 different cardstock colors for
both the flowers and the banners
with the flowers tucked nicely in the envelop.
The nuvo spray color I have does not match the
cardstock colors so I sprayed it on
a tag and tucked it into the envelope.
3 different washi is stacked on each other
and the heat embossed title.
Well...I used a puffy title and had some shabby chic
embossing powder and it worked
great until I got a little too close to the J and
it started to melt the actual J.
Ooops.
It works.

We are currently thinking of tossing another challenge
SO STAY TUNED...

It started with a watercolor background

It totally did.
Different shades of blue/green in
stripes in the background that I promptly
covered up.
I know you're surprised.
Also went into a stamping frenzy with some
Studio Calico birthday stamps and
broke out the magic mesh. I like that stuff and
only have a little left.
Is it still around?
Also used a lot of different color blues.

I would've love to have a donut here but alas, this cupcake
has been hanging in the stash too long
so there you have it.
Quintin and Amelia have birthdays within a week of each other
so I thought I'd toss their photos together for
their mom's album and because they looked like fun
together.

Seeing stars

I have not a clue about the mfg of this paper.
So if you know - give me a hint. LOL.
Love all the stars and it worked perfectly with the photo.
I printed 3 of them on a 4x6 and I like how it
turned out as it combines all the motions to tell a story.
 Lil Miss playing soccer.
I wanted this to be inspirational because I could.
And I don't care that the sayings in gold on that green/blue
don't match.
Quite the rebel here.
I also had this silver paper that looked like a soccer ball
and that I know is studio calico.
I cut the middle out - and decided it was really too cheesy
which I've already done cheesy soccer ball once LOL
so I  decided to cut it down a bit more and move the photo
and mat to the bottom of the page.
Since everything was soooooo busy I kept everything
at the bottom left. However in hindsight maybe a corner piece.
NAH.....
Using some magic mesh (like a net) to tone down the
silver and a bit of washi tape, and as if there weren't enough,
 I added even more stars
and a little gold heart to match the gold lettering.
Amelia's sooooo young in this photo, running, and her
chubby cheeks. She couldn't wait to play after watching her
brothers on the field for sooooo long.
Love it.

2nd to last one for the binge!!!

I know you're excited!!
Me too.
This was from another Studio Calico kit.
Now if I can do this with all the Basic Grey I've acquired.
Was able to finally use that lovely leaf
and did a bit of misting.
I do love a banner and twine.
 A banner on a toothpick.
How doable - and next time I'll try this at home LOL.
That big acorn was around for a long time - I believe from Paper Issues.
I watercolored those pumpkins because they were
tooooo pinky-orange.

A bit of twine and love those circles
that were languishing in my die cut box.
And that great label.
Used up some of my magic mesh too.
Bye bye to some stash.
Another 8x8 for Jill's album.
She sends the best pix!

Moving right along ...

I know you're jazzed.  ME TOOOO!!!

This I believe was the least amount kitted. However, I actually used exactly what I kitted.

Shocked me too...

I have to admit I found having everything kitted really helped. I usually take a lot of the dithering about ito get things going soYou'd think I'd maybe try this at home.

So much fun, with the grandkidlets at the beach, playing in the sand, getting along. Its obvious that sand castle building is to be taken quite seriously and everyone has their job to do.

I did take another page out of Wilna's book about using the majority or all of the rubons that come in the package - only this time I went crazy on the stickers and it worked out really well. I still have some leftover which is good and a lot of the alphas that came with, which made it all extremely easy to use and work well together.

Studio Calico 4 hueres 37, Kaiser kraft, magic mesh and a tag.

WHO knew.

Swimies - no more...

Yah!! What a milestone and I wish I could say the same. Sadly, I continue to cling to my noodle and WOE to anyone who tries to take it from me.

I will turn on said person like a rabid dawg. Especially if I'm in the water. And I don't share. EVER.

But I digress...It's a milestone for any 5 year old to swim with the fishies. He looks so serious. It must be the goggles. Goggles can change an attitude in a split second.

So I found some really old Cosmo Cricket and I'm glad - because I love Cosmo Cricket and its perfect for this page. You'll notice that once again I took liberty with the spelling because I could and it was a space thing. AND those alphas are old Basic Grey stash. Woo hoo!!!

And because I was in a giddy mood - the sun gots googly eyes. googly - woogly
(And that little nick-name came from what movie).
