Flashback Friday 8.27 "Jump on in......."

Yeah!!! I got it done. The challenge was to use a non posed photo of you playing with cousins. And wa-la. Found one. I have no idea where we were. Sadly. However, me and Billy (I'm the one standing on the dock, Billy sitting on the left) hanging out with Gail, Tommy and Glenn. I didn't do much journaling on this one because I covered it in a layout that was more posed.

Love love love Cosmo Cricket. Yes again. What can I say. And 6x12. Love that size as you can tell, if its not a die cut shape its been this size. Sigh. Whatever. Tis done.

OOO OOOO and I'm the challenger for next week's so if you want to play along its: Find a photo with writing on the back and use both in a layout. Remember "back in the day" when you wrote on the back of your school photo and gave it to family/friends? It could be that type of thing. Just saying..................................Link me up when your done!

Deja Vu.......

Would you look at them 2 babies. One is my grandson, the other, my son. CANUBELIEVEHOWMUCHTHEYLOOKALIKE? It blows me away totally.

This is a loose lift from Shannon Zeckel, featured on page 24 of Scrapbook ETC. Since my photo went the wrong way, I had to flip it. Then I got carried away with QK nesting circles, and a couple of circle punches which she didn't use. However, her's was the inspiration. American Crafts background papers, 7 gypsies, My Mind's Eye from my Kenner Road kit. MM alpha stickers (which could be from a kit also - losing track my bad). Unknown alpha brads. Probably MM.

Journaling. I can't look at one without seeing the other.

Ain't that the truth.

One boy, one bucket, one beach.....

My beautiful grandson having a great time on the beach. He was a busy boy, digging in the sand, picking up seashells, and jumping in the waves. It was a beautiful, sunny day, and he was fun to watch.

All cosmo cricket-snorkel line. I'll be using this again. lol!!!

Riding Shotgun........enjoying life....

is my boy and his pal LaVerne sharing a ride in the back seat of my jeep wrangler. I loved that car - it was sooooo much fun. But so small. The first vacation mom, Shane and I took with it was a hoot for sure, but I digress. Anyway, I had another photo picked out for this paper but I a. didn't want it to be overwhelmed by the paper, and b. the dogs didn't match. So while my Shane was feeling blue about his memaw I broke out one of HER scrapbooks of HIM and took it to him and after laughing our way through it wa-la THIS photo came up. I had to dig back into the wayback machine but I found it. I also found the original layout I did of this photo and it shall remain exactly where it is - on the shelf. Snort. So. The journaling on here is different but on the other one, actually showed the fun. We had to take poor LaVerne to the vets. She had chronic EAR problems which involved bleeding, nasty smells, and gook. So I had the top down, just had my manicure done and decided the top could STAY down, and they could ride in the back. Through our tiny city, heads turned, people honked and you could their lips "isn't that cute. LOL! And it totally was adorable - as they both were having the time of their lives back there. I really miss my wrangler - did I mention that???

Anyway I mixed Sassafrass Lass and Cosmo Cricket. GASP. I know.

Flashback Friday 8.6 "Gram's"

The challenge was to do a layout of where your parents sent you when they had enough of you over summer vacation from school. lol....paraphrasing actually. So here is Billy, Buttons and I on the swing in Gram's backyard where we were sent. And those were my favorite words - pack your bag you're going to Gram's. YEAH!!! I didn't do a lot of journaling here because I've covered it other places. But I know it was my favorate place to go. My grandparents were the most laid back, easy going people in the world. And they let me be me. (not only that but I had a tremendous crust on the paperboy).

And with such good role models, I envisioned my grandparenting to be same. Well it can be the same, just not spontaneous weekend/overnight, come in the summer and have your parents forget to pick you up times. However, reality is not cooperating. Being long distance quite frankly sucks, but I'm learning to make the most of whatever opportunity comes my way.

Creative Imaginations die cut (I LOVE THOSE - which I'm sure you can't tell because the last 300 lo's I did were die cut). Snort. Prima, burlap, qk=holiday, bling and noteworthy, 7 gypsies.

G & G's the grandbabies' B & B......

Sigh. There are times when my quirky sense of humor just runs full throttle. This is no exception. So this is Grammy and Grandpops house ........
Where Owen (and us) had a great time. Playing on the pool deck, swimming in the pool.
Hanging at the beach and playing in the sand and jumping waves.
Eating ice cream from Kilwin's on St. Armands circle. Can we say YUM? Grammy's favorite ice cream is the Macanack Island Fudge.
We hung out at the Venice Jetty watching the sunset and the birds whirling and dipping trying to catch bait.
Is the grandbabies Bed and Breakfast. bwahahahaa.....Reservations taken any time.
The adorable chipboard album is Mary Englebreit. Its kinda like a splat. I tossed on primary colored paint (mm) to make it happy and Sassafrass Lass to make it happier. Some Creative Cafe ribbon as happy dust. bwahahaha! All pix taken by my favorite SIL who lets me use his lens, sets me up on manual and cleans my camera, because alas my pix didn't turn out well despite ALL the help. Good thing for backups. Snort.
