Use your scraps in a homemade album

I don't know about you BUT I tend to collect ALOT
of scraps in different sizes, shapes and colors.
My scrap storage overfloweth and my drawer won't
close and I need my drawer to close.
So....
I happen to keep chipboard on hand because its
really handy to have around.
Also its handy to have paint, inks and oxides and
stamps and stencils, oh my.
You can make covers for your own album - mine 9.5x9
because I wanted to use all sizes of papers.
Alot of mix and matching going on.
I picked out a bunch and punched holes and I also
keep rings on hand because ya never know...

I didn't worry about colors or shapes or sizes (well
excecpt for papers that are really small)
and just put them in.
I know it's wild but because of the rings you
aren't married to them.
And you can rearrange also.

This is back appears to be the same as the front.
And they came out awesome.
Can't wait to dive in.

A stamped, inked, crayoned, stenciled Album Cover

Yesss, another one.
I can't resist.
This was stamped with no rhyme no reason
except I liked them.
Similar to the last one, I glued 2 thin chipboard
together 5.5x9.5.
Then with some rustic wilderness oxide and stain,
and kitch flamingo and picked raspberry oxides
using the slide and scoop method
I managed to get it all over the gesso.

Because I didn't want to be lame
and do the same thing inside
I decided that stamping a glass jar
and filling it with flowers would work.
Using Tim Holtz crayons I sort of watercolored
the flowers and jar
and then swished some vintage photo
all over - to antique it.

The second page was a new stencil for the winged
creatures and TH dots.
Using the spray and splat method.
Faded jeans and picked raspberry.

The guts are comprised of scraps and leftovers from
other albums.

I love to use paper bags in my albums.
They just fun to tuck a bunch of really cool stuff in.

I want to have a couple of different albums going on.
You know I have the "travel" album that chronicles are
exciting life on the road, but I also
other photos: like mostly the grandkids, or any photo
that I feel like scrapping using
 a different approach.
Keeps things interesting.....

Using up scraps from my scrap box

Due to a major wardrobe malfunction that my pals had caught
but were horrifically moritified and laughing hysterically at the same time
prior to alerting me to my faux paux.
My apologies/My pals LOL.
I was so focused in my creativity I completely missed it.
No worries now because paint is your friend and you can cover up
anything in scrapbooking.
So I made this lil mini album with scraps I had from my
scrap bin. When it gets to a certain level
it totally annoys me.
And then I need to do something about it.
So in conjuction with out of control scraps there are also
those embellishments that one has no idea
what to do with because they have nothing in common with
the way I scrap.
SO....
These scrappy lil mini albums are a good/great home for
those pesky embellishments.
And die cuts - don't forget die cuts
and punches.
However, some of these I truly love.
This lil mini is great for anyone that wants to
do an informal fun album.
I have made a few of these, some I've given as gifts.
You just can't go wrong.
Studio Calico, Pink Fresh, Die Cuts and miscellaneous do-dads.
I love the word do-dads.

Last Little Bitty Mini Album

Got a bit carried away with the bows, but, I love it.
This little mini is another Quikutz  4x4 die
and it's 2.5x3.5 more or less.
I used cardstock for the pages because it's
heavy and I think it'll take the wear and tear a bit longer.
It's perfect for tiny pix, quotes and journaling.
I kept the embellishments to a minimum for
"bigger" photos but I'm sure more could be added.
Also, the embellies are glued in such a way that things can
be slid underneath them.
I'm pretty sure these mini's will be gifts.
Used up a lot of bits and bobs decorating it.
I may even add photos at a later date for the gift.
Love how it turned out and I'll probably do more.
I didn't even make a dent in the scrappy box with these
four mini's. 😐😐😐
These little mini's are perfect in getting the mojo
flowing and using up those scraps lolling
about in your scrappy box.

Scrappy mini album #2 - Great Story

So, actually this one was done sort of simultaneously
with the album from yesterday.
I just rolled with the flow.
Used up a lot of embellishments that
were languishing in my box.

Did a bit of mixed media on these 2 pages
because the paper was not double sided and it needed
something.

Another fun mini that neeeeeeds photos and journaling.
Any ideas???

Mini album of scraps

I was feeling mojo-less - nothing worse --
so I decided that my scrap box was out of control
and what would the harm be if
I just assemble some mini album books.
Nothing big mind you and no pressure.
Well.
I have done 4 and 3 are completed in about a day.
Who knew?????
So up first is this one.
Since I didn't get stressed over the papers in the book
I decided to roll with the same approach for
the embellishments.
 And it was really freeing.

In hindsight though this piece of vellum may not
have been a good idea - I stitched the
book together and the vellum doesn't seem to
be holding up very well.

No harm no foul if it falls out.

I love how it turned out and I'm not sure what kind of
photos I'll be putting in there but it'll be fun!!!

Another page created without a photo

And since I plan on doing this for awhile
I shall not bore you with that title anymore.
Anyhoo, in stalking the u-tube - one of my favorites
is Ashli (Soaphousemama) so
this is a sortof loose lift.
Watercolors went on first - shocking I know.
Then whacked up some scraps again.
(I think I'll be giving Tori a run for her money over
at Scrap your Scraps LOL)
So I tossed on some do-dads and then went
on a hunt for a photo and found
one of these two cuties - Sam & Lou.
I used punches to make circles, cliche I know,
but it totally fits.

Love how it turned out.
And it turns out to be fun!
Again, Studio Calico, and some other unknown do-dads.

Scrappin' the Scraps

My scrap box was getting out of control at the same
time my mojo was at a low so I
broke out all my diecuts and punches and scraps
(oh my)
and went crazy.
Also, this mini album arose out of the scraps as well.
And it is meant to be lighthearted fun.
Using a lot of scraps and diecuts I decided
the book would be sorta about me.
Mostly favorite friends and events.
One of my favorite pix with my honey slurping
down a most delish ice cream cone.
And my favorite bird stamp.
Got some PL cards in there as well and that
pile is slooowlly dwindling.
Also got rid of some leftover embellies and
added them for no reason.
Couldn't NOT have some selfies going on and of course,
snap chat that I can finally get through
without the help of 10 year olds and younger LOL.
There is even A LIST in there.
Gasp.
Love the edge that the "notebook" papers give.
They are leftovers from the smash book
I used on my "leaf peeping tour" that didn't quite
make the cut. (It was a wedding planner album after all).
And I totally had to scrap about me and Holli's at
home crops. Mostly meeting at her house
because she HAS A TON OF ROOM and TONS
of STUFF IN THE ROOM.
And of course the punch!! had to be documented.
I know you've heard me whine about losing this punch.
It was not only a favorite but the first punch I ever bought.
So my pal would punch different colors for me to use at home
and then for Christmas my pal not only gave me
one, but there's a smaller one!
And of course those adorable critters.
Wouldn't be a complete album without my
Crossfit adventures and family.
I have been trying to get that heart on something
for like EVER.
Shane doodled on everything and I have made a page
about those way in the past.
Couldn't find said page, so it must be way in the past.

Finishing up with some PL cards.
Love how it turned out. Very fun, goofy and eclectic.
