I have three books going on - more or less

I know right.
Well...downsizing is the word and I am gonna
have a scrappy area in the RV so now I have begun
to whittle down all things scrappy and I have
sold ALOT at our yard sales. So using
what I have chosen I decided to go back to my "roots"
more or less.
If you've been with me for awhile, I adore all things
ancestry.com and heritage photos and the stories that go with.
Well.
That'll continue, but I miss that style.
The Tim Holtz, heritagy stuff.
Hard to explain.
I shall therefore, give it a go, because well no guts no glory.
LOL.
This book/album is a $4 or less flat page lying,
"mixed" media kraft type of album that was an impulse by at Walmarts.
(Not even in the scrapbook area)
I knoooowww. I'm a renegade or what.
So far this is the front and it's staying that way.
So this is my heritage-album.
I'm still feeling my way and I had a leftover leaf from
another page I made - here.
For some reason I decided the backside of the front of
the book need to be decorated. Therefore, I used watercolors and "shazam" it
didn't bleed through, however, it doesn't count since it's
the front of the book and it's pretty thick.
I put this page together - no photo involved and didn't
that surprise me too.
I'm feeling my way to a "mixed media", junk journal or use
it anyway I want to type of journal.
 Using TH stuff of course.
I rolledl the same way with the second page
popping some stuff up a smidge.
 Because who doesn't love dimension.
I added a doily and some Creative Imaginations stamps.
Again using watercolors because I really needed a second opinion
on the bleed through and I can safely say, no bleeding.
I'm really happy with these 2 pages and
they have set the tone for the rest of the journal.
I am using the Travelers Notebook for highlights, and I have
a mixed media going on, sort of like a junk journal
and both will be making an appearance soon.
Well actually four albums/books - because I am also going
to have an 8.5x11 album as well because sometimes you just need bigger.
I do have to confess I miss 12x12.

Tag Album

Not really sure what to call it.
However, I had these tags rolling around for a long time.
So long in fact, that I couldn't tell you where they came from.
I'm thinking maybe Creative Cafe.
Shades of wayback when.
I just used whatever I had laying around that may or may no
work with anything else.

Now I need to decide what to do with it.
Random photos?
A theme of photos?
OR
just journaling
(I do have a white pen and alphas).
Or gift it.
Any thoughts?

Take note-Play on words

Yunk Yunk.
And......
I always wanted to learn how to play the piano but alas
'twas not to be.
However, its soooo cool to me when kidlets start young.
So, of course being really obvious, I used music paper.
Also really obvious I finally got to use my "note" die cut and punch.
Because why not.
And kept it simple with the focus on Lou playing.
I jacked the title from a cut apart I saw that was for a planner.
I would've loved to use the cut apart but it
just didn't work.
Also a bit different style going on.
I like it.
Studio Calico, music paper- Marah Johnson-creative cafe (Ha!
told you it was old).

Completed my Smash/Art Journal

I started this bad boy back in 2013 or thereabouts.
That is Creative Cafe paper - and that
has long been defunct.
And then it laid around because I am
seriously not that talented but here are
a few pages in case you care.
Over New Years we went camping and my first
thought was not to take anything scrappy-wise.
And that was okay until we had to return to the house
because hubby forgot something important
(which I now forget what that was)
BUT...
in those few seconds I dashed back in the house and changed
my mind.
I only had a few seconds so I grabbed this album
a bunch of different colored sharpies.
When we made a stop a Walgreens and I picked up a small
Crayola watercolor set and that was it.
I was gonna grab the watercolor from home but had second thoughts then.
Now I have one to keep for other road trips.

This is more journaling than anything else with some
*coughcough* art.

I'm glad I completed this book FINALLY.
It was a long time coming and its really just a random,
no theme or consistency (except the drawings are bad LOL)
album that need completing.

The start of back to school photos

Not going to take up the entire week
and still waiting on some photos from the last 2.
I was also distracting myself as favorite youngest son
was taking his CDL test.
He passed!!!
woohooo!!
There'll be a page about that.

Started out with my new Studio Calico kit papers.
And man did I dither around.
While distracting myself I couldn't make up my mind
about anything and wasn't that annoying.
Did some layering here and added the
"wise ole owl" (which you'll be seeing again).
Also used the card that came in the kit
however, these papers came from August kit.
Love how it all works together.
Brought down the corner and star colors to
this end for the "triangle."
Brought a bit of the red over from the left side.
and that tag is creative cafe.
I can't believe I still have some left.
The kidlets seem to be excited, but they weren't on the bus yet.
LOL.
Oh and some Heidi shine gold mist.

Really really old paper

I did go with the obvious here again especially
when I found this paper in my stash.
This is really really old stuff - Creative Imaginations,
Marrah Johnson design, Creative Cafe Tag which is really
more red in real life.
I also broke out the die cut machine.
Love those feathers.
I paired that 6x6 number paper from Studio Calico
with the striped transparency because
it seemed like the thing to do.
Even those tabs are big die cuts from Quickutz
long time ago.
The cuteness factor of this photo is above a level 10.
LOL.
He  has all the instruments he needs to lay down a track.
No doubt he'll rock it.
Both parents are musicians.

Black and white photo love

The paper in this SC kit is so fun and
I loved putting them all together- this is the
2nd page in my binge.
I tried to match the watercolor paint to the paper
and didn't do too bad.
The stickers were fun and I also added some
elements from previous kits.
Did some fun messy sewing and layers.
Mostly because I needed to cover up some messy stamping.
Ain't nothing you can't save.
Beautiful photo and love how it turned out.
And that creative cafe stamp I've had for YEARS and
finally used it.
This is 8x8 size that'll go into Jill's album.

Using sequence photos on a page

I got carried away the other day and purged my supplies.
Again.
They were getting extremely overwhelming
especially after learning to use limited supplies while
on the road.
So my "box" of precut diecuts - gone.
The ginourmous basket of scraps - sortof gone.
Annoying basket of "stuff" - sorted through.
I started this page with a piece of cardstock that was
an odd shape that worked when I cut it down to 8.5x11
as I love working with that size.
I did some misting and splatting and paints to start it off.
I also had some basic grey papers that I used to cutout circles
in order to make my own embellishments and then
used a creative cafe circle stamp.
This was a fun silly page to make.
The photograph came all attached and I built this page
out of scraps AND did it prior to having a photo.
For some reason I had whacked the mat up (instead of leaving it 4x6)
or thereabouts and then came upon this picture.
So I whacked up the photo after printing it and adhered
it to the mats - total win.
And since I'm annoyed at thickers I broke out my QK again
using the CK typewriter and newsclip fonts.

Continuing in busy paper mode

And using more stash.
Like the Creative Cafe tag.
Love them and I think my supply may be dwindling.
Also, the stars, that worked out perfectly by Freckled Fawn
highlight the top of the page.
Shimelle's die cuts and stickers came in real handy
and it feels great to move some product along.
And the MAMBI sparkly letters have been around a long long time.
However, they are perfect - but the popular letters
are all but gone.
Creative titles need to be considered.
Wa-la - this Studio Calico paper has been laying around.
I couldn't decide if I needed to whack it up
or use it all.
The perfect photo happened and there ya go.
Amelia on wheels - has to be scary.
Love the concentrating tongue.
Very important.
I did let it marinate overnight and decided that some gesso
and watercolors need to be included and it helped soften the busy up and also
points you to the photo.

I have a lot more stash to go.
:D
