A bit of background texture

Starting with some Tim Holtz and Jenni Bowlin stencils.
And of course mists.
I love the paper and the small blue pattern,
it just needed a little something something more
and I finally got to use my spilled coffee stencil.
It's really a versatile stencil.
It's not just for coffee.
And those bows.
When I have no mojo and lots of
2 sided scraps in the box,  I roll it through the diecut
and just sit and make bows.
It's amazing how randomly making them and find they actually match.
This combo was a "tag" I made ahead of time
and it totally worked perfect with this page.
I watched an Inky Quill vid where she just pulls stuff out
and makes tags that can be used whenever.
So I made three - I didn't want to be an over achiever LOL.
So there are 2 left but I can only find one.
Maybe I used it already. hmm....
I love those bows - they make me swoon and
of course those glitter hearts and
itty bitty enamel dots just set them off and really what more
is needed. Those itty bitty dots are Nuvo crystals that I
happened to pick up at my LSS and bought 4
colors, black was a given, and I also have the pink and gold (shown here too)
and some green, so I played around with different
sizes of all the colors on some wax paper and let them dry overnight
BUT before they dried the wind blew and ruffled some
stuff on my desk and some of the colors
got a bit mixed and squashed.
Anyhoo, I love them, so far.
The entire page needed something to bring it all together
and I used my cutter to cut these really really thin
pieces of cardstock to outline frame the page as
I didn't want something overwhelming and these are perfect.
The title is made from some word die cuts I got from Hobby Lobby
and I have used them previously as accents like word stickers.
Love this photo of Miss Amelia, she is so adorable and wild.
She needs to be a model.

2016 Leaf Peeping travel album completed!!

Yay!!!
I did have to finish it at home - mostly due
to boondocking a bit too much
and our batteries ran down
and because we would hook up at night,
eat, clean up, go to bed, get up, eat, clean up and leave.
Not necessarily in that order.
SO......
What I didn't mention before is that this smash book was
for a wedding. So I pulled out all the pages
that didn't work out and some I glued in to cover up a page
that really didn't go.
These are the ones I didn't fill up and I really
didn't want them in the book blank.
Tommy Traveling Pants had a map that was out of date
so I whacked it up to put in the beginning
and at the end.
There were notebook pages that I used
them to journal as we went.
What is written on the page does not at times
necessarily correspond with the
page next to it.
I'm okay with that.
 Smashed a couple of receipts.
And I did photograph campgrounds so we can
 return if we want.

The card in the bag I left as is because I really
loved the sentiments on it
and the actually went with everything.

I tried to keep it simple and I also used a few
things that didn't travel with us
when I completed the last few pages at home.
I'm okay with that too.
Love how it turned out.
Used an assortment of papers, punches, die cuts and stamps.

Wordy background paper

I really loved this paper and it really rocks the photo I chose
 but its wordy.
So in looking at the photo which is adorable by the way,
I went through and squared (instead of circling LOL) phrases
that I loved and work with the photo
down the left side of the page.
Because of the circled phrases to the left I put my cluster to the right.
I wanted to use that "oh boy" because it just fit-especially the colors.
I scattered some stars about and really kept things simple.
So when I finally got passed the adorable faces and really
looked at the photo - Sam and Lou have
paint brushes in the hands - and look like they're on a mission
which should put fear in any adults heart LOL.

Five photos in sequence

Love those birds and for no reason except for that they grace the page.
Have a cluster going on that I love and also have a cupcake for no reason.
Love the cut aparts in this kit and they're the perfect accent.
This is a sequence of Miss Amelia learning to skate.
I think the photo size are 3x3 or close to it.
I highlighted a couple of photos as you can see using insta frames.
This is kind of different for me and I love it.
I really didn't over think it and tried to just glue as I went
that in itself was very fun.
Studio Calico again with some sissix and spellbinder die cuts going on.

Ice and Dramatic skies

Right off the Blue Ridge Parkway there's an exit
for Mt. Mitchell State Forest.
Elevation 6684.
And we went to the top.
And it was 23 degrees and icy. Just a tad nippy.
And really quite pretty.
Nice little detour but just a little bit of autumn going on here.

Fall on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Pretty colors and more dramatic skies.

I gots the hang of photo transfer now.
Hopefully no more drama on that end LOL!

Everything was just starting to turn colors

As we fall into autumn on our leaf peeping tour.
Just to get it out in the open - I managed to blow and entire day away
of photos that I took going through the Cherokee Nat'l Forest.
And didn't that just annoy me.
Since we continued on through the forest
I managed to get a few more.
Some color - some old structures and dramatic skies.
Enjoy!

Dramatic skies seem to follow me wherever I may roam.
