Traveler's Notebook - Cousins

Got to meet up with my cousin and we had a wonderful
time tripping down memory lane and doing
the ancestry.com thing.
So I made the title using the same papers that
I used for the photo mat.
It was kinda bland so I took a gelato that happened
to match.
Who knew.
Broke out some primas and recollections flowers.
I mostly used stuff I had already die cut or punched out.
How fun is that.
AND I cutout those circles by hand.
Gasp*faint*thud*
Lots of journaling.
Love how it turned out - very girlie.

Haven't used Primas in awhile

And I love Primas, however, I've had grandsons
and while I'm okay with flowers on their pages, then
there was flowers.
Thanks to my pal Holli with whom I scrapped with yesterday
and got to shop again at her place.
She has the coolest stuff.
I actually packed really light in going over to her house
which is very unusual for me-sort of doing a "grab 5."
And in all honestly I did use 4 of them - the stamps I grabbed
just couldn't be worked in.
So I grabbed her flowers and watercolors (that you can barely see)
and commenced to gluing.
She also has an abundance of buttons that I got
to pour through and though using
different ones on the flowers was kind of fun and funky.
I'm really pleased with the page and thinking about
maybe I neeeeeed some primas.
Studio Calico on the rest.

Going girly

Finally, the great thing about having granddaughters
is being able to go girly.
Love the boys but there is something about pearls,
bows and flowers.
Although I must admit I love boys, I love girly too.
So here we have new Studio Calico paper, my go-to doily heart,
October Afternoon card, Paper Studio pearls, prima flowers
of which I have an entire super satchel full.
(I've been slowly working my way through and not purchasing
any more flowers). Yay!
And those adorable little bows with pearls I found in the
wedding aisle at Michael's.
I did mist with my new Heidi Swapp and Mr. Huey and
it appears I managed to cover some of it up.
Ms. Amelia is at the beach, but since the background is artfully
blurred out, I went with the paper since it works
with the artfully blurred background.

Stay tuned for my tutorial on using household goods in scrapbooking.
Coming March 19th at Off the Rails Scrapbooking!

Finally got that title....whew!

Most of you that know me, always know I'm
usually in search of a title.
April is my go to as well as my pal Holli,
my husband and and a title book that has
come through in a pinch.
This time I asked my blog buddies and you came through.
Thank you!
Pointing out Amelia's pretty red lips I came up with
"Sugar Lips".
And that brought me to remember a bouncy tune from Al Hirt
(a trumpet player) called Sugar Lips.
And didn't that just date me.
So I got my Wilna from in the mood to scrap from 2peas on.
I love her stuff.
There are mists, inks, stamping, glitter and paper tearing going on.
A lot of fun.
The thickers are the ones that you can "customize".
ooooooooooooo
So I did with Martha Stewart's glitter. Her glitter
isn't scary - because its like a salt shaker.
Just shake it on out and it mostly goes
where you shake it.
I designed this page and put it all together then
I needed to search for a photo.
And because of the pre-done mat I needed
a 2.5x4 photo.
I love the runs and dots of the ink amongst the
generous misting and stamping as an additional layer.
I also broke out the sewing machine to give
it a finishing touch.

Bazzill, Paper Studio, Primas, Ranger alcohol inks, Heidi Swapp & Mr. Huey mists, Abbey Road brads, MAMBI hearts, Thickers, Inkadoo stamp, Studio Calico do-dads & pattern papers.

3 of us...

This was another page in a series of picking out the papers
and putting the page together and then picking
out the photo to go with.
And it has been a blast because I did what I wanted.
I'm very good at that.
I got out some Anthropology spritz from Tim Holtz
and some cranberry glimmermist which
isn't quite red or pinky.
OH WELL.
I also broke out the pinking shears.
That's a photo of me, mom and brother Billy.
The decor slays me.
I think where are at friends of my parents (because I KNOW its not our house)
Don and Blanche Remaley on Berwick St.
except I did get confused by the lamp - it was popular.
Love how turned out.
Another Heritage page bites the dust!!!
Although hmm...we still need to define heritage.
I mean come on. Moi???

Calgon take me away...

You just don't see that commercial on anymore.
Is it even sold?

I'm a shower kinda gal so I don't know.
I was getting tired of 8x8 squares so I decided
to go round. I even broke out my sewing machine with
a funky edging. It took a few times around because the thread
got tangled up a few times.
I left it that way.
I then picked out papers and just started laying it on.
And then I found the die cut piece just laying about.
And it seemed to work.
Then I had to find the perfect photo for the page.
It called for a photo that was not quite swanky
and not quite tooo laid back.
I also stamped on the photo with my new Studio Calico stamp.
I know. I can be quite the rebel unexpectedly.
There's some Bo Bunny going on with Basic Grey, KI memories,
Little Yellow Bicycle cork alphas, Tim Holtz word strips, prima and
I got to use my new butterfly anywhere punch by Martha Stewart.
Wooo Hooo!!!

New Powderoom....

Took a bit of license on the spelling. I had no more R's and ran out of room.
I decided that my beautiful bathroom makeover,
that was a long time coming, deserves a special page.
I love how it turned out.
Got to use my vintage stuff from a Swirly Doo kit.
And remember those goofy carnations from Prima? Used a bunch of them too.
I had a ton of primas all in their pretty bottles and I got this
genius idea to dump them all in one big super satchel.
Of course all the flowers are scattered throughout and it took awhile to find them all.
Explain to my why I did it again.
I even used my gelatos for the background.
It came out sort of pink.
And I love that I finally worked in that birdbath.
And the birds.
oooooooooooooooooo

Promised Soul

This is the baptism photo of my cousin Susan and her mom Aunt Sue.
My mom was chosen as her Godmother and was
a proud and involved participant throughout Susan's life.
I remember Susan as a diamond in the rough.
She was sweet and fierce with those she loved and children absolutely adored her
and she absolutely adored them right back.
Sadly she never married nor had children of her own.
Sadly she passed at the young age of 50
and her story in battling her illness was one of bravery and faith.
I remember when we'd visit my grandmother, she'd always make
a special effort to come visit us during our time there.

Assorted papers and basic grey rubons that I layered.
I went out to my ancestry line to look stuff up and all the information
I had mysteriously disappeared. Grrrr....

Grab the bull by the horn

Not sure if its a cow or not. Doesn't matter, the identifiers are hidden. LOL!! This photo looks like its been around the block a few times which makes me glad that I have it nice and secure on some Tim Holtz paper - among others.

Not sure of the back story except cows show up a lot on the Anderson Homestead so I assume that's on of the basics in their life. Haven't seen nor heard if they had chickens, however, the men were avid sportsmen - hunting and fishing.

Took awhile to post because Mini(mac)me is at the Apple store. It appears the card reader is broken and suckin up energy that resulted in some weird goings-on. I am truly lost without it - especially because ALL my photos are on it and that will be remedied as soon as I have it back in my hot lil paws I shall be sharing them with my desktop mac.

I had to think what layouts were posted or not and then go back and photograph them again. I remembered this one; sifting through others if any.

It's Manic Monday - so I'm hoping the mojo floweth!
