Campground Pages

I decided to go easy on the colors because
well - the pages were UGLY.
Coyote UGLY.
So I had already gessoed it and went with that.
 Finally USED that CACTUS.
Woohoo!
We really enjoyed this camp, our friends Paul and Sharon
camped there and we had a lot of fun.
After 10 days we moved to the Pio Pico
and that is a lovely camp, just a lot of hoop
jumping to get there.
Lots of leftovers and washi tape.
Guess who didn't let the writing dry before
slapping their arm on because she
decided that a doodly border was needed.
We're gonna be here for awhile exploring San Diego.
Fun stuff already.

Mixed media MacMillen RV Park

Texas campgrounds are very bare bones.
And that's okay, we just needed a place to hang for a
few days.
Crazy winds were a-coming and high profile
vehicles were asked to lay low for the next few days.

So we did.
Not a lot of embellishes in this park but
we had a full hook up and I was more than happy with that.

But basically it was a parking lot.
We hunkered down, and I had a lovely visit
with my cousin Patty where we stayed up way late
and caught up on family and exchanged a bunch of
ancestry stuff.
Very fun, and now I have ancestry stuff to keep me busy.

Dylusions, Studio Calico.

Went a bit crazy with the paints.

I'm not sure why because it was awhile ago, but
I know I had a really good reason.
Or maybe I was playing because I was tired of being
boring. LOL.
Anyway, using some Dylusions I added
quite a few colors to an otherwise white page.
I fussy cut out the map and did a lot of stamping as well.
Well isn't it supposed to be messy?
Nailed it!

This turned out to be a favorite camp because it was
so unique. Very fun camping in the sand.
And it wasn't as crazy as I thought it would be.
Sand did not get everywhere.

My thought was I took pix of this camp because it was different
and fun. Why did I not think of adding a photos
to the other camps, hmmm?
It would be helpful in the future when we're looking at
returning to some of the camps we enjoyed
to explore further.

Well DOH. 😮

A sort of junque journal

Maybe. I purchased this 8x6 kind of arty/journal book
that lays flat. Had one prior and retired it.
Way too much bulk.
So I'm bringing my new found knowledge to bear
on this journal book.

My problem is this.
I believe I'm having trouble rolling from scrapbooking
to junque journal. Because well, it looks like a
scrapbook page and I couldn't help myself.
LOL.
My thought is to make this little album about
the campgrounds we stay in.
Put in their information, in a random chaotic way,
and maybe give a critique or two.
And then to do it as we go.
Like live.
We'll see how long that lasts LOL.
So to kick it off, I traced this US cork thing I had
and then drew the state lines.
It's not so much about accuracy. Just sayin...
And well what better background than the flag.
I was a tad impatient in the drying, or lack thereof, process.
I believe I also used every.single.one of my "on the road, journey
road trip stamps" on one page 😉using random
things and not very geographically correct in any way, shape or form.
 But Fun!
Anyhoo, Yogi Bear's Yellowstone Park is up first.
It's were "Our Odyssey" started.
Tom came up with that and I'm totally stealing it.
So I gessoed the next couple of pages (too) and
honestly being TOTALLY NEW in the Junque Journal
end of things I didn't do anything else to the page.
It's just gessoed.
But using my matte gel I did the whole
page and then matte gelled over everything to
adhere it to the page.
Not too many embellies and added journaling
which was tough over the gesso/matte
because I don't think I waited for it to dry.

Next we stayed in Boomtown as you can see
and because it was a casino campground I went a bit
wild with the colors.
Dylusions to be exact.
For my RV pals out there - casinos can be your friend.
A lot of them have RV camps inexpensive and sometimes comp'd
which not only was out camp comp'd (say that 3x's fast)
so was the buffet and what a delicious buffet that was.
I also got to use some crazy green colors I've had stashed.

Tonight we are in Vicksburg, MS and what a cool town.
We were here in 2017 and totally loved it here
and the history will just blow you away.
This is another casino campground and we stayed
here in 2017 and it's a lovely camp.
Quiet with some green stuff around.
So I got to use some crazy green things in my stash
with the paperwork from Ameristar.

So there's gonna be some ugly stuff going on til I figure it out junque
and scrapbooking LOL.
I'm okay with that because I really want to
document the campgrounds. We stay in so many and it's
hard to remember things about them unless they're truly remarkable.
So after I make a fun Junque Journal - I'll probably make
just a boring list for quick referral.
I should probably just make the list -
but where's the fun in that.

Gettin' in more scrappy time in again

I wanted to add some "routine" and hobby photos
in this album to show what we do on the road.
Contrary to popular belief, we do not party day and night. LOL.
So here's my darling sweet hubby with his "hobby" or passion I should say
in roasting coffee. His coffee is delish and sadly, I can't drink
it if its caffeinated. He bought some decaf green beans
on line and roasted some today.
Decaf-Guatemalan coffee.
It is sooooo delish.

I also like to put some of our campgrounds in and
since we'll be staying here for a month,
and we have a great view with some livestock
swimming about, it helps if we want to return to said campground
in the near future.
And of course my scrapping on the road, this is
my third time doing it.
I love having a completed book when I return
and then make bigger pages if the story calls for it.
Then my other "love" is crossfit.
I go everyday when I'm at home and it pays
in keeping the ole bod moving right along.
The trips we took in the past, either we didn't stop long
enough or I was too chicken to drop in a different box.
Well I finally found the guts and I'm so glad I did.
I feel great having my routine and keeping up.
Not exercising for a long period is really like starting over
and that's really tough. So now when I get home
I'll be right in the swing of things.
Mostly.
It'll be a couple weeks which is better than 8 weeks.
