Made a couple of birthday cards

Had a great time with this one.
Used the TH 3D embossing wave folder,
used a stamped mermaid and used the crayons
to color her in, and variety of die cuts.
I did steal the envelop cover from someone
I follow on IG.
I just happened to have a leftover piece that
worked perfectly on the flap.

Inside.
I have love those stamps.

I really enjoyed this card too.
I find I love to make scenes and this one
was fun to do.
Got to use dies I don't use much
and I don't know why.
And the TH muttlings are a fav!
I found I did have a pet paper pad that I didn't
realize was for pets as I have none
and the bones are a hoot for the sentiment.

And paw paper for the balloons.

Mixed Media - Snapshots

Love hanging out at the South Jetty in Yaquina Bay.
There are working and pleasure boats hanging
around and of course the lighthouses.
But...
there are also the sand dunes, walking and biking paths
all waiting to be explored.
Of course, the golden hour makes it all look new and pretty.
Couldn't resist our shadows.
Tom couldn't resist the bunny ears.

Documenting artwork

Love documenting kidlets artwork because
it does, at times, have a short shelf life or the over abundance
of it gets out of control so its good to keep a record.
I actually knew Angry Bird.
Shocking I know.
But what a great likeness that is and it does
look so cool and makes me wish I had some talent like that.
It's a simple, yet colorful 8x8 page with
a faux tag, a neat embossed feather courtesy of Miss Holli
who very patiently cut a bunch for me
and a brad. I haven't used brads for ages-remember
when they where hot.
And of course that Tim Holtz bird and words.
That green dot looked more blue.
Sigh.

Scattered stuff

This page just sort of evolved without a plan really.
It started out with another photo sequence
that needed grounding so I used my Sissix die for a border strip.
And when the dots fell out all over the page,
well I just glued them.
And then added more in a different color.
And then there was a big blank space where only
the title could go.
Love the little bird and I did him in blue that totally matches
and rocks the page and then
there's the strip that started it all.
Of course the whole dot thing is repeated at the bottom of the page.
And didn't I use up a bunch of stuff.
The touch of red was kind of an after thought.
I like it.
It's kinda wild and really different.
So Sam - looks like a 'lion' with the yellow balloon
around his head 'growling.'
Work with me here.

Overthinking a page

 Can drive you absolutely nuts.
Fortunately, I was hanging with my pal Holli and
we were scrappin' together at her place and after
bouncing some ideas off each other - she hit one!
Strips.
Doh!
So simple, yet fun.
So I whacked a few strips, put them behind the photo
and wa-la instant mat on a very colorful page.
And how about that adorable bird.
Sigh....
Holli also supplied the splat punch for that fun splat.
LOL....

I love this photo!
Lou totally exemplifies the fun I have in scrapping.
His enthusiastic crafting at his cousins
crafting party made me smile.
I feel the same way Lou when I have paint in my hand.
This turned out really fun and Holli once again
came through with the title!!
Studio Calico, Tim Holtz, one itty bitty piece of Basic Grey
and Michael's $1.50 bin (I'm telling you it rocks).

So I'm packing for our 2016 Summer Tour and its
a good think I looked at my lil album again.
I pretty much did a lot of stuff, so I just need to add journaling
and photos, but I did toss in some extras in case
I need to add more pages.

Some old Basic Grey for a boy page

I really love Basic Grey - that was always
almost my go to paper when I was
scrapped. I'm still bummed it went out of business.
When I saw this photo of Owen and Lucy I knew
that this really old paper would do the trick.
It has the outdoor feel as well as leaning toward "manly."
That PL card is also perfect as an additional title
and that little bird still slays me.
A PL card at the top also adds to the "journaling."
Add tidbits on the side to kind of balance out all the
action that happening in the middle of the page.
It turned out to be a fun page with the photo
in between all the "fireworks" of brown that also highlight
the photo and all the action down the middle!

Lucy is such a sweet dog and adores her kidlets.
She loves me too - always greeting me by knocking me off my feet. LOL.
Its also really neat to have a photo of their house in the background.

Sort of a chaotic mess

I'm really trying to figure out how it happened.
It was sort of like spaghetti - no matter how much you
toss on there it just keeps getting bigger.
 I tossed
on a bit of gesso and some mists
using again the packaging technique and it just
went ka-boom.
On another note -
Love that bird - he really makes me smile.
So the mists sort of went everywhere, in non matching colors.
And seriously, there were so many colors on the
paper and what does Lynn do? Pick the
colors that weren't there.
Which honestly took the fun out of the page
as I kept looking at it.
So I figured I'd try and cover things up - but
this time I managed to get it so it
really couldn't be covered up.
Therefore,
Since it was already out of control - I piled on.
I mean why not.
Gotta roll with the mists you splattered.
I threw on a
disconnected title with some randomly placed stuff
all around because if you're gonna
be chaotic - make it CHAOTIC.
I'm still wondering what went wrong.
LOL.
I had a vision and I'm pretty sure this wasn't it but
the pictures are fun and I think that started it,
after all leaping from rocks into thin air
is very daring.
I think the doodling pulled it all together.
LOL.

Pop art background

LOVE this paper when it came in my May Studio Calico kit.
I have nearly busted out April & May kits
that were waiting for me when I returned from
The Southern Route Tour.
AND I did mention you'd be seeing a lot of this bird.
He is soooo stinkin' cute.
Because of the busy background I kept things simple.
I really wanted the pop art to pop.
Nothing says manly like metal.
I also did a screen shot of this FB post
that I thought was hysterical
and fun of my favorite eldest son having some fun.
Love his smile.
I did use a sharpie to outline the page
because it just needed that
little something something extra.

Paper with writing on it

and a new cute bird stamp.
What a great combo and reason to do a page.
I've been using more scraps and
punches lately in case you haven't noticed.
And there he is. Is that bird too stinkin' cute.
WARNING.....
You'll be seeing him a lot.
I kind of kept the design simple using vellum and
black with just a bit of pink because
of the busy-ness of the background
paper and wanted the photo to be front and center.
Broke out the die cuts which I'm hoping
to not be lazy and do more often.
Love that photo and when I saw that card -
wa-la the perfect title.
