More entries in my Travelers Notebook

Had so much fun with this.
We were camped in a friend's backyard and
this little groundhog was our neighbor.
Every now and then he'd scamper across the yard
into the woods.
I couldn't resist.
Oh and if you know about the Shadow - you're really old.
My pal Holli stamped and mailed that fun critter.
LOL

Had that birthday sentiment for a long time and
kept forgetting to use it.
Well.
Stash Bust.
Loved that we could get together and celebrate
my brother in laws birthday.

Of course I had to document our trip to Hershey and
chocolate covered bacon.
Yum.
There were 4 slices 4 different ways and each
had an abundant of chocolatey goodness.
And for the TH phrase up there - I actually finally
bought a Tsquare ruler and guess who
STILL had trouble making straight lines. 😐
And some of the leaves are changing.
It's going real slow
and I wanted to get our home in on the
leaf peeping action.
I have had that acorn flair button forEVER.
Finally.

There's a mix of a lot of stuff that of course
I don't have the packaging too.
So you'll have to guess. LOL.

I'm also doing pretty good with the no dimension rule.
More or less.
😉

Started a new Travelers Notebook

It's an old Studio Calico and happens to be
perfect because it has fall stuff in it.
And here I am in NJ in the Fall.
Twas meant to be.
Also, I got to use the Tim Holtz SNARKY word
phrases - I love them - you really need
a sense of humor.
So my challenge is to do this TN withOUT dimension.
That challenge lasted to page 2.
LOL.
The banner that hysterically cute monster is holding
has some of that craft dimension stuff (can't think of the name)
behind it so it's not as thick as regular pop dots.
I have been enjoying doing simple pages
and NOT OVERthinking things.
Snort.
And okay - page for has a tad dimension but
it's not my fault.
Blaming it on my pal Holli who sent goodies
in a card - all those cute monsters, that girl and a pink
flamingo clip that I forgot to add to the photo.
It's been fun passing things back and forth via snail mail.
It took awhile to get to me so it was a fun surprise.
I have WAITED a LONG TIME to use
that slice of pizza - also Studio Calico - very old PL card
that I fussy cut out.
Broke out the die cut machine and made a lot of stuff that made it in
these pages, along with stamps and fussy cutting.
It's been fun.
Since space is an issue - when I break out the BigShot
I cut a lot of stuff ahead of time, except alphas,
that I needed because I tossed
out a bunch of thickers I had because
I thought they were too big 😐
so the BigShot came out again as
the alphas are QK Holiday mini's which
are a fun font.

This is going to be a fun notebook.
I think I'm getting the hang of it.

TN - Completed already!

Shocked me too.
For some reason - I thought LAYERS as oppossed to DIMENSION
would make a difference.
 LOL!
And it did in the fun, but not so much how fat
the book became.
But I love how it turned out.
I found these pages in the book really, really fun to do.

Mostly because I let myself not worry about
design, embellishments (whether they matched or not)
or if it was cohesive.
It was a blast and I'm gonna do it again
as soon as I create my next journal.
I do love the rings - because it appears I canNOT resist
dimension or layers. LOL.
I really would love the use the premade books
but alas, I can't contain myself to keeping it flat.
Using up so much stash has been fun as well.
Some of these cards I had literally from forever.
I'm okay with using old stuff.
Because in a 100 years from now no-one will know its
not the latest and greatest.
This is a mix of a lot of different mfg's.
The mix works well I'm thinking.
Those envelops - I am totally gonna miss them when they're gone.
The paper for this is from a 6x6 basic grey pad.
Tea garden.
So this is how fat that bad boy is and would believe
there are only 5 WHITE PAGES in the book?
LOL.
It's all the other layers of patterned paper that make it pudgy.
I'm okay with that.
However, I'm gonna have a lot of books LOL.
Sigh.

TN - Wherever your heart is....

A few more pages in my new TN.
Love how its coming together with layers and journaling.
I do have thoughts written in pages as we roll down the road and
I have decided that some need to be in the TN.
Not necessarily in any order - just how
the mojo flows and the story I want to tell.

My pal Holli has sent me some premade tages - and "take note"is
one of them and it ias perfect for this page.
And on the flip side.
💝
I am so diggin' the layers and I'm loving that I
finally "broke out" into whimsical and I don't obsess that
maybe that may not be the perfect embellishment.
And I'm okay being out of order with the journaling.
It means that someone has to pay attention when perusing my TN.
Whimsy is working out mighty fine and this TN
has been the most fun because...
Just because.
Another embellie by my pal Holli - I just added the sunglasses
because it just work with the photo - color wise.
Whimsy.
Does a body good.

To keep things interesting - I started a day planner

Because, Why not?
I have come to the conclusion that I'm not a good diary/note keeper.
Shocking to me, because that was part of my job
once upon a time.
WELL no longer, evidently.
So...........
I'm using a Traveler's notebook that well....working on that too.
Because neither one is so not a 12x12, 8.5x11 ETC
scrapbook page and the documentation and creative process
is sooooo different.
AND who doesn't love a challenge.
So with the brilliant deduction to start one brought on by
second guessing and because at one time, due to my job I was day planner,
calendar driven person for over 15 years ago (when
they first came out in the business world
-they had a different name that escapes me now)
but my entire life was driven and I SWORE (so much for that)
that my life would never be calendar/day planner
driven EVER.
HOWEVER, it's not so much DRIVEN now as remembering
what happened at any given time on our Odyssey.
It's more like a diary.
An abbreviated diary, with hopeful comments that lend
to a more involved commentary.
Which may or may not be working.
I was so excited to find this day planner mostly because
I liked all the cool shaker thing going on - on the cover page.
So after the purchase I found that I needed a day planner from March 2019
and this one started at July 2019 to July 2020.
I saw 2019-2020 and was sooooo excited UNTIL...
 I needed March.
LOL.
So I improvised, ad libbed because being on the road and only
finding M's, HL, or ACM on the road and actually STOPPING was
like just like not going to happen until we light and land somewhere.
We were on the move or camping at a location
that was nowhere close to any of the above.
So imagine my chagrin when I found out I screwed up.
The internet is a wonderful thing.
I found blank calendar pages and printed them out.
and logged our journey based on the 3-4 summary
thing I had going on.
I'm telling you it's not for the faint of heart. LOL.

I have to admit this planner has a LOT of pages.
They have the 30 day calendar.
THEN they have pages by the week.
THEN they have a comments sections.
THEN they have a summary page at the end.

What could possibly go wrong.
OVERTHINKING.

So these are my first lame attempts and any helpful/creative
hints will be so welcome.
However, I have progressed to August that even
blows me away at the pages.
I'm gonna wait until August is running into September
before I attempt to blow your mind
with my attempt at creativity.

Remember I came from a business world day planner so
this is total frivolity.
LOL.

My new Traveler's Notebook.

Finally finished the previous one and needed to begin
a new one. I really like creating them myself
because I can make it the size I want - but most importantly.
RINGS.
It allows for dimension, which I love,
however, I'm reallyreallyreally trying to keep it to a minimum.
😂
Using some transparencies from the "I have no clue department
as to the mfg"
but they look cool and go with the washi-tape.
I used some old cardboard box "lids" -
not quite "fitting" the size I want to roll with, so I've
used washi tape
around the edges to "finish" it.
I'm going to try to document more, better journaling.
Some to be seen, some to be hidden.
Hidden in this case means - NO room on the page
if I get windy LOL.
I decided layers would be fun - but I wanted
this post to be a bit private.
(yet I'm sharing with you).
Love those layers, and the envelop for journaling.
This is to document the spreading of my mom's ashes
that was a long time coming.
All the pages are held together by that adorable butterfly
so you have to undo them to see what's behind the layers.
I printed random, small photos, that may or
may have nothing to do with anything.
Concentrating on better journaling,
taking random photos taken on the fly
or those photos I've stopped and taken
my time to get to go with the better journaling.
It all started with my rereading the "featured post"
at the top of and to side of my blog.
I had no idea how waxed poetic I was with that
post and found I really liked it.
Of course it may be an unrealistic goal but
what the hey - I have time,
if only the brain will start cranking. LOL.
Love that fish popping its head out of the water
determined to get the food being tossed by my
main man mostly to stir them up.
I documented that somewhere else, but I like
using the photo to document how long we've been
"on the road" - taking our house with us
wherever we go and taking our time
to stop and smell the roses and breathing.
Enjoying the sights and scenes
while flying down the highways and byways.

I've been using lots of leftover scraps, negative
punched out papers, and hopefully using up one 6x6
paper pad at a time.

Connor and Me - Good Times

I wanted to make another page to add more
journaling - and this is my "mixed media" album.
Not much mixed media going on but I wanted the space.
I have been switching about albums to do different things.
Different things can probably been done in the TN
but its size can been restrictive.
If one lets it.
However, I have found that I've been way overthinking
AND have not given up my traditional scrapbooking way.
So.....I have retired the TN I have been using
because it's SOOOO fat because I can't
seem to let go of pop dots. LOL.
I looovveee dimension.
And I'm whining about all that again.
I will be creating a new TN because I do love having the rings.
Because I do love dimension.
Used my favorite Studio Calico bags and tucked a tag in there
for the journaling I intend to do.
Using Pink Paislee and Studio Calico 6x6 paper pad
for more layers and colors.

I had to handcut those blue flowers.
What can I say LOL.
