Pretty in Pink

With a bit of watercolors and a stencil.
Love how it turned out.
Layered on the matting behind the photos and used
a premade tag that I neglected to post.
How can that be???
LOL.
Love the alphabet from the stencil which is
totally appropriate because it was my brother's graduation.
And those flowers? Don't they rock?
I made them by using washi tape on white cardstock
and then punched them out.
They totally work perfectly.
Gram and Grandpop down from Pennsy to attend and
my brother ever the joker - rabbit ears.
LOL. Rabbit ears have been a photo bomb since
the advent of cameras.
And a doily.
What can I say.

Enter at your own risk....

Welcome to my world of creating a page....
It started with this beautiful Crate Paper.
I decided that some texture might be in order so
I broke out the modeling cream, gel medium and some Mist.
I threw in the gel medium because it has a shiney almost enamel texture.
I smooshed them all together and was kind of
disappointed that the gold did not come out as gold.
I persevered because I figured I could change it up later
if it didn't turn out the way I liked.
I broke out my 6x6 stencil from The Crafters Workshop of
bird cages hanging from a tree.
I love this stencil and I do use it quite a bit.
Its good for girly and heritage pages.
I put the an abbreviated version of the stencil in the bottom left corner.
Doesn't that dimension rock and the gel medium gives it that shiney look.
I also decided I loved the color as it matched grey color on the page
which was a total accident.
And that is mostly how I roll.
As you will see.
Pulled out a bunch of papers.
And pink washi tape.
Pulled out a bunch of Kaiser craft and Studio Calico
embellishments and patiently plowed through them all.
 Laid it out and decided......
to chuck it all and start again - especially after I
pulled this photo from the wayback box.
It seriously needed saving and I have scrapped this one before
many times.
I decided a simpler approach was needed.
I took all the flowers away and fell in love with bikes only
the white was kind of stark - so I broke
out my watercolors.
and attempted to make them similar to the other
elements from that pack.

It wasn't until I completed the page that I decided that
a border was required - the page just seemed too plain without it.
Tossed some sequins and thread about.
Stuck some birds in a cage.
Added some washi and butterflies and went with
the tag as the title.
I really really love how it came out and its way different
from anything I've done.

Was that painful or what. LOL!!
Thankfully it doesn't happen often - but enough for
me to not even try to video my approach.
It would make us both nuts.

On an ancestry note - that is my great grandmother and there
about 5 kids piled on the horse.
There are 4 sets of legs, 3 heads and one popped up in the back.
I have tried to blow it up and identify said kidlets.
I think its my uncle albert, aunt Toot, aunt Ruthie,
and aunt Sue.

I adore this photo.
I adore heritage pages.

Would you like to see the other page???
Me too - as its been awhile.

Wow have styles changed or what.

Stencil and watercolors

I really love how it turned out.
It was scary throwing it on there - I mean
some peeps can smoosh watercolors around and make it look awesome.
I can smoosh watercolors around and its like
so you just threw some paint on.
I actually started out wanting to use my gelatoes
and somehow they just fell by the wayside.

Aren't these doily hearts girly??
My pal Holli gave them to me and they're gonna be so perfect.
I managed to cover up the majority of the stencil and watercolors.
Shocking I know.
Dug out my new Kaiser Craft googies and started layering.
 And more layering....
Not quite what I envisioned but better.
Odd how this works out sometime.
Very girly and feminine.
Like a tiny dancer.
And its a 2 photo page.
Don't do too many multiphoto pages.
And I need to.

Clusters of embellishment goodies

I'm having title issues.
Really.
However, with some help from my awesome DH
I have one out of two.
I started the layers with the honeycomb stencil and watercolors.
I love watercolors.
They're your friend.
Then I piled on the goodies - mostly Studio Calico stuff
with some extra goodies from my stash.
and more goodies. - I used the entire package of stars.
They look terrific scattered about.
And those Evalicious arrows.

Using up my October Studio Calico kit papers.
Love them.
And wa-la my DH's awesome title, which seriously
should be a head slapping doh on me.

Confirmed child of God

These photos have resided in the wayback box for a long time.
I was hoping my mom would scrap them since
it is her with her parents in the backyard celebrating
her confirmation into Christ Lutheran Church
that happens to be right across the street.
My gram went to that church and my grandpop went
to his family's home church in the country.
I thought it was normal. lol - and it worked for them.

In this  photo my mom is 13 years old.
And confirmation back then was nothing like it is today.
You were quizzed in front of the entire congregation.
I would've fainted.
She actually looks way more mature than me at 13.
Her faith was a great foundation throughout her life and also her death.

Used Studio Calico pp & Tim Beck alphas from this month's kit.
Josephine Kimberling die cuts, Dear Lizzy die cuts
Crafters workshop stencil and thickers.
I also used (and I think its ranger-not sure) but its like
a glittery mist - that gives it a shine but not a SHINE.
