Halloween cards

🎃I actually finished the cards for the grands. It started out innocently enough making a card for Ashton and he’s not quite a year. I didn’t want to scare the pants off of him so I found this cute stamp set that I bought on the whim that are LDRS creative stamps and it has cute little dogs so I decided it was cute for him. I thought it was too cutsey for the older ones but changed my mind. . and yes I fussy cut out way more critters than I needed Shockingly my fingers weren’t happy 😆 also, I didn’t make them quite as cookie-cutter as I usually do. Moved the moon around which was fun in changing everthing else up.

ALOT OF FUSSY CUTTING.
There were 6 dies of the animals so I made 10 of each because
I thought I would need that many for the cards.
Silly me.
However, it was great to have a big selection.
Only count I got right were the bats.
And because the moon was on black paper I used enamel ink.

Doodle Bug Valentines

They are the most adorable Valentines ever.
You really can't mess it up
and this is the 2nd year because there
is that much stuff in the packet.
The inside just says Happy Valentines Day.

Thanksgiving cards for the grands.

Lost my mojo for awhile so I haunted the web and
found a card similar to mine to make 10 cards.
Circles are your friend when they're critters.
Also I did almost use an entire 6x6 Pebbles paper pad.
Now onto Christmas. LOL.
I have way too many Christmas dies not to use.
😬
I did use watercolor paper for the leaves and then used
TH crayons and in looking back I should've
used the oxides to get more vibrant colors.
Hwoever, their kids. ❤️

Belated birthday card

I can't believe I forgot a birthday - and the notification on
calender that has been set for EONS didn't
inform me.
😐
Anyhoo...I also have to admit that I totally jacked this
idea off the internet, however, didn't
keep track of the site.
My bad.
Honestly, I wish I had thought of it.
I actually wonder why I haven't.
🤣
So its basically cardstock of different colors
because why not.
It is adorable.
So this is Oliver a TH sissix die,
the alpha set - is an old Quickutz die called
Holiday.

Didn't realize how big it was but
I love it.

Valentine's Day cards for the grands

These were so much fun and easy to make.
Seriously.
Picked up the embellishments first along with some hearts
to match with this Doodblebug collection "lots of love' which is the 6x6
paper pad that I wasn't going to purches. My pal, gifted me.
Love my friends.
The embelleshmnet packed "odds and end"
was used for the really fun and
cute stuff on the front.
And there's a ton of stuff in the packed in there.
Each card just fell together.

Love them.

St. Patrick's day is coming up

Corned beef and cabbage.
YUM!
And adorable leprechauns too.
GOT THIS FROM THE INTERNET!
How adorable is he and HOW COME I CAN'T
COME UP WITH CUTE STUFF LIKE THIS ON MY OWN.
Seriously.
So that little sticker sheet was used to put
stickers on the inside with the sentiment,
No photo of that,.
And no I didn't use the piles.
Shapes are amazing actually and I find I can make stuff
with shapes as opposed to lifelike.
So to make the shamrock - actually clover on the hat.
Hearts.
I used QK cookie cutters and rectangles
were whacked on the cutter.
I also in looking at this photo it needed a background
which is why if you look above I went
a little nuts with a shamrock stamp.
Used Peeled Paint and a really old hero arts stamp.

Christmas cards

I love this stamp and it was so much fun to make these cards.
Ten of them.
Using Tim Holtz distressed crayons and diamond stickles
for the beard, etc. just made it all pop.
I forgot how much fun stickles are and what
they do for your page.
They had somewhat fell out of vogue and
since nothing I do is really in-style - I'm gonna use them more.
I used a Michaels "background" stamp and tore
the edges and distressed them.
The yellow I admit is a strange choice but it appears to work
and make ole Santa pop off the page.
Just need to stuff and mail.
Hopefully, on time.

Rectangles are your friend when artistically challenged

Cards are fun to make, however, it's becoming tricky each year to come
up with something new using the same ole stash.
The turkey stamped has been used before and
because it's small it needs to be "showcased" or it'll get lost on
the card.

 WA-LA----the pilgrim hat.
It turned out cute (I make 10 of them) and how about

that buckle!!!! It was saved from a destashing I had completed
in getting rid of some 2x2 QK dies that I have
been carrying around and not using.
Well....guess what's back in the stash LOL!!
The inside sentiment cleverly says
"Happy Thanksgiving!"

My pal, Holli,  picked up a sidekick for me which is perfect for the
2x2 QK dies....
(it does make me wish I kept the QK squeeze).
Ah hindsight.
In case you're wondering, we live full time in a 38' RV and
space is a premium so.......
and we like to keep things simple.
Snort.

Sigh.
They turned out cute.

Now to remember to mail them on time.

Easter Cards

These were a lot of fun to do.
I love pinterest.
Just need a jumping off point.
The card I did pick out had the bunny coming in
from the side.
I couldn't seem to make that happen without it
looking, well, stupid.
So full bunny face looking front.

I did hand draw the ears, used my circle cutter
to draw a pencil circle and fussy cut that too.
A hole punch provided the eyes with white ink and
yes, I DREW in the whiskers and mouth.
And an itty bitty heart punch for the nose.
I am DRAWING.
Who knew.
Do I girlied up the bunny with those cute prima/recollections
flowers and sequins. Sorry grandsons LOL.

It was a lot of fun.

Some of my favorite projects in 2018

A fun acrylic album made with some Pink Fresh.
See the rest here
 Loved using that girly stencil!
 A Flower and/or Pinwheel.
You pick LOL.
It was a lot of fun to make.
 Love pinterest!
And M&M's.
My first hand drawn embellishment and hand stitched.
It was so much fun the first time I did it again
although the mask was downloaded from the internet.
 QK dies.
Very fun!!!
 And who doesn't love minions.
 My first Traveler's Notebook.
You can see some of the pages here.
 And an 8.5x11 sized photo.
I love doing that size - especially for oversized beauty.
What an exciting year 2018 was.
So much exploring was done and a big decision was made.
2019 is gonna be so exciting.
Can't wait.

St. Patrick's Day cards

are winging their way to the grands.
I'm changing things up as they are growing up
and I realized I don't need to make them all alike.
Like doh!
I have had this paper forever, and my pay Holli
gave me some sparkly shamrocks and leprechauns
for some snappy embellishments.

I do need to step up my card making skills - cards
like double pages baffle me.
Anyhoo, we had our Murphy Clan St. Pat's day this
past Sunday and we it was soooo good
meeting up with the Murphy's.

Reminisce
 (are they still around?)

Finding forgotten kid art

Favorite youngest son came home for a few
days this past week and it was sooooo
good to see him.
He had previously dropped a ton of stuff he had
at the house since he became a truck driver
and had nowhere else to put his possesions. So when
he was home we went went through stuff in order to clean
up the spare room.
Well.
During the clean up we came across this gem that
was in my mom's stuff as we were putting things up-
(he had one of her scrapbooks and we were putting it in one
of mom's many trunks for safekeeping).
Anyhow.
Shane brought to my attention to this card he made for
his memaw and of course she kept it laying in plain sight
in her trunk. (I need to get in those trunks more)!
I really didn't want to put the journaling on the actual card
but I couldn't figure out where to put it but
I think it worked out.
Shane would draw things anytime, any place, anywhere
and some of his drawings were kept.
In my journaling, since I didn't really know, I think memaw
at the time was scrapping and gave Shane something to do so.
He loved cars as all boys do, drew the car, fussy cut it out
and placed in on a map and gave it to
Memaw as a card.
If you look close the map is Hawaii.
LOL.
Love it!
Of course it needed to be scrapped and the story told.
I just wish he had time to keep on drawing.

Halloween cards

And for once I'm ahead of the game.
GO ME!
Anyhoo, instead of making the cards exactly the same this year
I used the tons of stuff leftover from prior years;
a mix of Echo Park and K&Company stickers
and cut aparts.
I'm hoping that I can do that for future cards as well.
I also tried to keep in mind that the age range of grands
is from 3-15 so I'm trying to make
cards age appropriate-sort of LOL!
Now to remember to mail these badboys out in time!

4th of July cards

Yea Yea I know it's early but since we may be on the
road during this holiday and I love making
and sending cards to the grands,
I decided to have them ready and just dropping them in
the mail wherever we may be.
We are heading out sometime in June maybe - so I'm also
putting together my scrappy supplies for the road.
It's quite interesting.

Kraft, my sunburst punch for fireworks and Studio Calico star & heart stamps.

St. Patrick's day is a-comin'

And I wanted to make a little something for the grands.
So in the spirit of treating the older grands a bit different than
the littles I made them cards with a knock-knock
joke I stole off the internet somewhere.
(The INSIDE- says I RISH you a Happy St. Patrick's day.
I thought it was a hoot....

The smaller bows have a "coin" with a shamrock
glued onto a punched die cut that also says
Happy St. Patrick's day - and that bow behind them
was a ribbon I saved from Lou's baby shower.
Lou is now 5 years old.
There's also a glue dot on the back if they want to
hang them off themselves or somewhere else.
Their initials are in the center to personalize it a bit.

I rolled into Easter after this - trying to make shakers
that turned into an absolute disaster - so back to the drawing
board on those.

Hippity Hoppity hippity hop

Easter's on the way!!!
Made some simple cards for the grands from
The Paper Studio.

Nothing fancy, little fussy cutting on some and
cotton tails.
Now all I need to remember to do is mail them.

Cards....

It's the month for cards however,
I don't do cards well but I don't think the grands care.
I used up all my St. Patty's day & Easter stuff
from past years so I went on the
hunt at Michael's and Hobby Lobby and quite
frankly I was disappointed in both
but mostly with M's.

M's had nothing - no paper, no stamps, nothing on sale
as they always do for either holiday.
HL had papers and that was it - which kind of surprised
me I was hoping for a bit more on Easter.
And it wasn't because I waited until late either.

However, there was other stuff for St. Patty's Day that
I put to use with HL paper.
And the coins were a bonus - and not chocolate - it'll be
up to the parents to inform the kidlets
it ain't real gold LOL.

Halloween cards

Yes I ventured into the card realm.
I don't do it very often because cards baffle me.
I don't know why.
So I stamped a bunch of things and cut them out.
And I did a bunch - when I finally
figured out when my hand cramped that maybe
they all didn't need to be whacked.
Therefore I have extras.
Alot of extras.
Let me know if I can help in your Halloween endeavors.
OH and that's Tim Holtz's spider web that I had
forever. Glad I remembered and used it.
With white ink - that looks grey.
I'm diggin' that.
I used a combo of Clear Stamps & CraftSmart Stamps.

I made them a bit different and decided to batch them
as I had 9 to do for the grandkidlets. It just seemed more efficent
and less stressful.
I really liked the ghosts as you can tell - and they
did stamp with two eyes but I didn't
have smaller eyeballs to now they look like minions.
Gasp.
Should've made them yellow.
The inside has more ghosts, spiders and bats and
a sentiment.
Either Happy Halloween or Trick or Treat.
Its my way of being creative.
LOL.
