St. Patrick's day is a-comin'

And I wanted to make a little something for the grands.
So in the spirit of treating the older grands a bit different than
the littles I made them cards with a knock-knock
joke I stole off the internet somewhere.
(The INSIDE- says I RISH you a Happy St. Patrick's day.
I thought it was a hoot....

The smaller bows have a "coin" with a shamrock
glued onto a punched die cut that also says
Happy St. Patrick's day - and that bow behind them
was a ribbon I saved from Lou's baby shower.
Lou is now 5 years old.
There's also a glue dot on the back if they want to
hang them off themselves or somewhere else.
Their initials are in the center to personalize it a bit.

I rolled into Easter after this - trying to make shakers
that turned into an absolute disaster - so back to the drawing
board on those.

I know you're breathlessly waiting for those faux printable watercolor cards

I made here and here with some debacle-ness going on.
Well....
Look below and shazam - there's one on my page.
Love it.
I created a special 8.5 x 11 size for it.
I had an ephiphany when rifling through my scrapbooks
and mini albums that somewhere along the
line..........
I became boring.
True that.
Doesn't that bow and feathers make you swoon and homemade enamel dot).

That aside I used to do PAGES IN ALL SHAPES AND SIZES
and then suddenly I stopped.
And it was 12x12.
All.the.time.
Except for baby albums and they don't count. LOL.
I mean in everyday scrapping.
All I can think of is when did that happen.
 Don't get me wrong I adore 12x12.
But I also adore the other sizes.
And then I stopped using different sizes
(except 8x8 which is for the grands).

That is going to change.

 I feel better already.
My SIL borrowed my sewing machine so therefore I
have faux sharpie stitches drawn by my hand.
And don't that blow you away. :D
Kraft paper - I adore Kraft and haven't used that in like forever.
It works so well with my faux printable tag.
I LOVE IT!!!
Expect more of the same.
In different sizes.
Different yet the same.

Only 7 more faux printable watercolor cards to go.

So the photo is a heritage one and I'm the baby laying in my
great grandmother Ida's lap.
I have alot of pages about Ida.
She was an amazing woman.
Beside her are my two different grandfathers.
Of course I had a favorite.
And as you can tell from the body language they really didn't like each other.
Therefore based on the April date - I'm figuring it was my baptism
and that is the only reason they are not only in the same room together
but on the same couch.
And someone made them do it.
Hence the title.

Recollections Kraft, Echo Park, Stamps, Mists, Twine and
Cookie Cutter die cuts.
Oh my.

Last kit - not done at the crop

And this one as well I kept to the script.
It was fun.
Pinks and greys and black.
Simple Stories -
I'm almost done with my 6x6 pack.
The teal with arrow cut out was used on another page
and that's a fairly new punch and its sooooo adorable.
You'll be seeing it around.
Broke out the Paper Issues swag bag and a Shimelle sticker.
It is a perfect fit and makes a great subtitle.
I don't use subtitles as much as I probably should as
they do bring a bit more insight and can also add to the journaling.
Used my last pink and grey bow - more stash gone.
Yes there's more stash - no worries there.
One day when the mojo's low - I'll die cut and assemble some more
of those sweet bows.
Love having them pre-done.
Love this photo and Amelia is quite the fashion diva.
And there is her sidekick keeping her company.
I made some fishtail banners, still using some layers and mats behind the photo
and I love that it gives a different edge to the page.
I didn't weave them because no one would see since it
would be behind the photo
and I'm not really good at the weaving thing.
I love how they look on the page.

Studio Calico, Simple Stories round it out.

My tutorial take on non-traditional Christmas colors

I decided to go with the nontraditional color palatte
because well....
it was a challenge.
I had to dig through way too much stuff
to find papers.
 And accessories.
I used watercolors to make up for lack
of some colors and to enhance others.
I have wanted to use that bow and my flamingo
die cut.
Because grammy lives in Florida - get it? LOL.
Both provide a bit of whimsey especially the flamingo because as you
can see some of the kidlets are dressed for winter.
Finally used that flower soft stuff I've had for
a million years!
The title placement drove me crazy -
short trip I know -
I put it everywhere on the page,
and it finally found a home.
Whew....
Ta-da!
Hope you have as much fun as I did with this
beautiful color palatte.

Merry Christmas!!!

Still waiting on the diagnosis...in the meantime UPdate

The swelling seems to be going down on my foot and its not black and blue as I thought it would be. I can put a bit more pressure on my toes and now on my heel - the middle part still remaining tender. So in the meantime I thought I'd entertain myself and you with the deets. If you look forward you'll see that  there is kind of a ramp up on the deck of the boat. There's also a seat and anchor storage on the bow under the wooden door. I stepped up on the wooden door on the bow to get off the boat to step over the railing off the bow and onto the dock.

Now keep that ramp up thing on the deck in mind, as I changed my mind, and stepped back down not paying attention to that stupid ramp up where my foot hit sideways that  knocked my bad self off balance causing my foot to slip into the cooler that is permenantly attached to the deck. Laurel and Hardy would be proud.

I was attempting to get to the part of the boat where you see the break in the rail. Which in hindsight, I should've just kept to the plan on getting off from the bow OR paid more attention where I stepped down.
Either way it was a DOH moment.
I tend to have a lot of them.

Still waiting on the doctor.
Heavy sigh.
I have a nondisplaced fracture on the left side of my left foot to the baby toe. I have a Dr appt with a podiatrist tomorrow.
Yay - moving forward.
