Gotta love ideas for cards from Pintrest!

How about these cute turkeys???
If I have to actually BUILD a critter, or thing, I need help.
Since I make about 12 of them, I like
something simple.
Doesn't get much simpler than circles, squares and stamps.
The feather stamp is from Dear Lizzy stamp set - one of my favs
and I used distress inks from Ranger.
The hat is made from one inch squares and the brim a thin strip
cut to size and I actually handwrote the sentiment and their feet.
Am I artistic or what LOL.
And who doesn't love googly eyes.
The nose & buckle were whacked out of some older
Studio Calico paper.
These little guys are a composite of the bunch of examples
I happen to come across.

Recollections cardstock.

Little bits and pieces scattered about

One of my favorite follows is Soaphouse Mama and I
love her style so every now and then (or really a lot often)
when I get stuck its fun to "lift" or incorporate
someone else's style.
However, Ashli does a lot of white and soft colors-
I use wild papers still, but she has a way
of using bits and pieces on her pages that have no
theme or reason to be there except they're adorable, fun and
her words "unexpected."
And this page is that.
See that adorable bunny peeking out - he's just ridiculously cute.
And that bow - I have this cute punch.
I made that tag - and it was fun using those green hole punch
fixers because you can't just buy the few
that I needed to
fix some punched holes that are falling apart
on the pages in my latest travel album .
Same with the bicycle - no reason for that to be there either
except I really like it.
I find myself wanting to use more stamps (I have a ton)
and do-dads - (more tons).
I love those stars and dots sprinkled about and
some negative and positive punches.

Chaotic Stamping Reigns

Well.
What can I say - I got carried away.
Really carried away.
Because it just seemed to work.
I had this paper in my stash forEVER
that had houses on it in a semi-circle and what
do you do with that.
Well I addressed something similar on another post here
but I didn't want to do the same thing.
Therefore I went into a stamping frenzy because
the paper and the photo were perfect for it.
I fussy cut out the bikes and well that's pretty
obvious and sometimes you have to roll.
Also the title - I had the HUGE alphas forEVER too.
So, why not add to the chaos.
And kidlets riding their bikes in the hood.
That adds to the chaos as well.
Studio Calico, Dear Lizzy and Stampendous.

All the pages this week were completed on Sunday as
well as a baby album.
Whew!

Embellish DIY Style

As you know I love Ashli's style and I have a tendency
to stalk,  er check her blog out daily.
Well I took her Embellish DIY Course and have
viewed it several times and did a few of my own pages
but THIS PAGE is the most DIY yet.
All those pre-made stickers and tags available are so
freakin' adorable, however, sometimes the
colors or size just doesn't work - so for this page - I made my own.
Not quite as handmade as Ashli BUT homemade all the same.
I punched out circles and squares because I really suck at scissors LOL.
I finally made peace with the fact of hand cutting mats and photos instead of
using a trimmer- so baby steps.
I then broke out my Dear Lizzy stamps (and Studio Calico) - I adore
this stamp set and use it a lot.
So I stamped on the squares and circles - I KNOW....
I also stamped around.
The feathers were fussy cut too.
The hardest part is covering stuff up.
I want to see it all. LOL
Ashli explains that too.
Got some shadows going on here.
Early morning. OOps.
Love how fun it was to do and I'll be doing more of it.
Studio Calico with mix of Basic Grey papers.

Miss Amelia doing what she does best - trying to defy gravity.

Anyhoo, check out Miss Ashli's class.

Went crazy with Dear Lizzy Stamps

And on kraft paper.
I love kraft paper - seriously.
I think I used
every.single.stamp
in the pack.
It was really fun.
 Found some Keiser Kraft embellies
and a Tim Holtz tag.
Did a bit of layering - and shazam.
I'm not sure if I like the ticket.
And that can come off.
Thoughts????

Stamping Frenzy

I believe I may have used them all.
LOL.
Actually there are Studio Calico, Creative Cafe, Amy Tangerine,
Recollections and Dear Lizzy.

I actually love the chaos.
Do you remember QK Stillettos alpha font??
I know it fits perfect in that space.
The hearts were stash from many kits ago and
they look great on the page.
Changed it up to 8.5x11 and mounted it on
black cardstock which makes it totally pop and I used
the reverse side of the paper to mat
the photo along with black cardstock - I thought
about layering more but I felt it
would detract from that lovely photo.
Of Sam.
And his blue eyes.

From Chipboard to Plan B - Paperbags

I really love how the mini album for Quintin turned out
using an old CD mailer here. Of course
once I get on the bandwagon about a particular product,
I tend to get carried away.
And I wanted to make one for Amelia's birthday.
Therefore I surfed the world wide net to find more and sadly,
there are no more being produced - which makes sense.
Who really uses CDs anymore.
I took matters in my own hands and decided to make my own
as I had some really thin chipboard that would bend
easily enough. After I connected the pocket page to the book I
decided to sew the binding together.
And my sewing machine decided that it was not going to cooperate.
At.All.
I could've lived with the messy stitching but it tore a chunk
out of the bottom - that couldn't be fixed - when I tried to rescue my
needle, bobbin and other parts caught in the mess.
 Thus Plan B evolved.
A paperbag mini album.
From the humble brown bag.
 And ta-da.
Using Little Yellow Bicycle mixed with Basic Grey,
some killer photos of an adorable kidlet,
with some awesome stamping and can we say adorable?
Love the little pockets for extra photos on tags and
the back can also be used for journaling.

 Kept the pages simple.
However, I love that little girl and this Dear Lizzy
stamp collection is one of my favs.
Snuck in a Paper Issues Swag Bag card for a mat.
And used up those word wood veneers.
A total win-win.
Lil Miss Amelia turns 4 today.
Of course I'm late.
And that's good because had I been early, it might've snowed
again and I really don't want to be responsible for that.
Its spring already.

From the crop - fifth kit to page

I've taken this photo three times and still blurry.
Sigh.
I completed this page at home because I thought it needed sewing.
And to my shock nobody dragged a sewing machine to the crop.
LOL.
There are actually two thread colors - I first used a grey - and
it just didn't show up - so I went back over it with white.
Love the simple cluster with the bow and die cut.
Added some thread just because I thought it looked cool there.
And wa-la.
I did different sewing things in different corners.
It helped I think.
I love the Studio Calico paper - it fits.
Love the Dear Lizzy stamp its a favorite.
A dog and his girl.
Doesn't get any better than that.
