One more scrap your scraps

And this one made me crazy as its more like
a patchwork quilt.
A wild patchwork quilt.
All of which I had to think about for awhile.
Because it was so patchy - I had trouble with
figuring out the photos - I had 2 - 2x3
that got lost.
So I found this packaging card from Studio Calico
and the color worked really well so now
I have a mat!!!
Then that stupid open tab at the top (see above)
was also not helping so
I decided to make a fishtail banner from the same paper
in the lower left corner and that
solved alot of problems.
(It really was an afterthought)
Got a good cluster going on.
On both sides and I kept the cutouts
in the leaf because I think it
looked better solid.
Gives it some neat texture too.
Those adorable little words are from Hobby Lobby.
Cut out a bunch in a couple of colors.
Made up a bunch of those bows too.
I love those bows.

Really love the paper now but....
it wasn't love at first sight
LOL.

Basic grey, Studio calico.
I'm so glad they work so well together.
I have a lot.

In the pink-totally

It is soooo good to be home.
After doing a ton of laundry and washing the car
I was able to get to my scrap table.
I haven't completed my travel album yet, waiting
on the new 4.5" rings I ordered because I blew up the 3" LOL.
However, I had this one completed before I left
and in the meantime yesterday, I completed FIVE pages.

Therefore, rolling with the 6x12 size
because I love the paper and whacked it up
somewhere along the way, I
layered in some other papers, rick rack (which I love)
and some puffy stickers and transparency roll out the top of the page.
This paper is actually from a baby girl pack
from Echo Park.
Looks like it can be used for big girls too.
Got in that Heidi Swapp heart - almost done with that pack.
Love using stash.
Turned out very fun.
That was not the original photo I was going with
but after I layered all the papers
this pix just seemed to fit better.

Studio Calico Patches

I only used one but patches sounded better than patch
which I believed I also used yesterday.
I'm getting redundant.
However, a patch in this case is like a girl scout patch.
And to be honest I had no idea what to do with it.
I have no clue why I was intimidated by it -
I've used stickers bigger than this patch.
Anyway, the colors fit, well the red was a surprise
as it was the only color not in the arrow paper, and I loved
the sentiment, especially since this is Quintin's
first no-training wheels ride down the street.
A rite of passage conquered.
Love that.

Scenes around Long Key State Park

This one is from our campsite - I finally found the courage to hop down
to the sandy beach. Its a bit of a drop
with a cement block for climbing back up.
And I baby my knees too much.
However it was worth the view.
I love the different colors of the water.

We hopped on our bikes and headed to the boardwalk.
In full disclosure it took awhile for the sun to
make an appearance and it was really windy. And a bit chilly.
Above is a tidal basin that grows a lot of things. And while the water looks "dirty" its really clean and clear - you are looking at the bottom. (See next photo).

There's all kinds of vegetation and also spiders. We declined the hour walk through the golden orb spider webs - among other things. I didn't see any birds at all - which were touted as hanging about there.
I seem to have that affect.

On our ride back to camp - this tree caught my eye because there were birds at it on the way to the boardwalk - Of course they weren't there now.

A very pretty line. My DH determined it was a line and not a rope. It's called a line if it comes from a boat. And there's your nautical trivia of the day :)
More than one angle on the tree and I love the sky. It was totally weird like that all day. Sun- no sun- pretty white clouds - grey clouds.

A gaggle of IBIS or flock maybe - I don't know if the gang word changes for seafaring birds.

And some little bird that may or may not be a sandpiper and is going into "grammy's book of can you find the critter in the picture."
