Using a lot of rubons on a chipboard album.

I really love creating my own album covers, and
each time I do it, I think that I won't be able to think of anything.
Well I did have to ponder for a bit and its the
reason I do the inside first - figuring it wouldn't be
to glaring if a cover up is required.
Experience. 🤣
I didn't use as much paint on the inside as I do the outside and
the colors are happier.
I used stencils, stamps and masks.
I did screw up on the moon page because I used
ink that was staz-on like so when
I modge podged it sort of smeared and I had redo it.
The cover was a lot of overthinking on my part.
Once I painted it took a couple days of ignoring it
because rifling through my stash wasn't
cutting it.
So. On a night as I was rifling I did a better job
where all my things I look for on every page is stashed there.
And lo and behold RUB ONS jumped
right in my hand.
The big numbers are Creative studio - they sell at the Dollar stores
and let me tell you they rubbed on like a pro
and 2 packages of Tim Holtz.

Well, it was really fun and I used the all the big numbers
rubons and one package of TH.
Then of course white splatters that I got carried away
mostly because I'm blaming it on bad lighting.
🤣

Sweet, personable great nephew

It's soooo cool to be in a family where
closeness extends to all members.
Our great nephew made his way into the world
and his cuteness and bubbly self just
wormed his way into my heart.
This is supposed to be mixed media.
Whelp.
Not too much mixed media going on - I used a Tim Holtz
stencil in grey with some gold splats.
I seem to roll back to my scrapbooking roots.
It's been happening.
A lot.
I did fussy cut him out because there was a lot of background clutter.
Isn't he adorable.
I just wanna smoosh his cheeks.
Which I did.
I had so much fun holding and holding him.
Playing with him.
I remembered a bunch of things I did with my boys.
Precious memories.
So glad to meet Matteo.

Stamping and fussy cutting and paper tearing oh my

Well if you read yesterday's post you are aware
of my whining about all things changing in my scrapbooking
and in my head, scrapbooking to the storage.
So therefore, in defiance to that notion I made a feel good page.
Using a stampede stamp that was lolling about in
stash somewhere in a drawer that I had completely forgotten
about, and using some distress inks I stamped
some leaves because its October.
And October in Florida just means the schoolbuses are out. LOL.
No pretty leaves changing or things like that.
However, it was a fun page.
I found this paper from the Paper Studio which was
rustic and cool enough to use for an October page.
I mussed it up and found my long lost tonic tool to muss it up more.
I backed it with Recollections cardstock in grey and
even stamped some leaves where it's torn and
now covered up with fussy cut leaves.
The entire page is all about Tim Holtz stuff, because I wanted
some rustic, shabby chic looking letters and dug
into some stash of grunge board alphas.
I used Studio Calico clean slate paint and some
plain jane white, along with some sandpaper and made
some funky rustic alphas.
And don't the Blue Ridge mountains just rock.
The colors are glorious.
Those little butterflies are TH too.
There's a stamp tucked at the top left corner and
a little ruler as a mat for the photo.

Grandkids being adorable

Seriously how cute and fun is this.
I couldn't resist.
I found the star paper (unk mfg) in my scrap box
and thought it perfect.
So then I needed to build something around it.
Something goofy and fun.
I used Studio Calico poppy paint to make the lines
on Recollections cardstock to make
 an American flag.
I wanted it to have that Americana look mostly because I
can't draw a straight line.
 I cut out the stars
from another page where I started the lines
that didn't work out.
So a win-win there.

I googled superheros lyrics and found these.
They are so perfect.
Added a title and wa-la.
