Another challenge in da bag!!! with my pal Brooke

I have to admit that I am really really REALLY enjoying
these challenges - totally out of my comfort zone.
Both ways for sure.

BROOKE'S CHALLENGE TO ME:
this sketch
stamp title
ribbon
3 pp
glitter

I really love the sketch and again, took it right down the middle.
There are 3 PP in there Tim Holtz papers and for
my critter a TH die.
A bunny.
I must've bought at least 5 bunnies this year.
As for the glitter well I decided to keep it really low key.
😂
I had to use an animal and this was just too much fun.
And it was a new never used die.
Quirky.
The photo is a drive by of a ghost town on I-10.
Love how it turned out and I'm okay
with someone in the future wondering why there's
a rabbit with a glitter carrot.

MY CHALLENGE TO BROOKE:
This sketch (which I LOVE)
journaling strips
frames
5 pp
nuvo shimmer powder

AND IN HER OWN WORDS:
Authentique "Summer" papers. Nuvo powders through stencil in blue blitz and solar flare. MM, 7 Gypsies Authentique and TH stickers. Sizzix, and other various dies.

Framed the journaling strips AND used the frame from cutting out the tags on the corner of the pic 😁

I ADORE her page.
I ADORE my page.
These pages are so different yet ours.

Got another one lined up.
Stay tuned.

Glitter fun - not!

I did whine about this on FB -  what was I thinking
about using glitter.
It totally goes everywhere but where I want it
and I'm still cleaning it up.
I also used some modeling paste to make circle/dots in order to make
the background just a tad busier.
And the glitter does add that something something, I just
need to figure out how to get it under control
if that is even possible.
I also did some stamping and used up some more stash.
I do love having those twine bows and they
appear to be a signature now.
In fact, I feel my pages look weird if I don't have twine on it.
You love twine?
And then I did something different for me
at this point in time (meaning I have done this in the past-
remember deckle scissors?? - to disasterously ugly results that
will never ever see the light day)
I cut out a photo.
Yes I did.
And it worked perfectly - Owen is flying off the page.
Actually they both are flying off the page.
It was fun to do and easy to whack - not a bunch if itty bitty things going on
to turn it into a "fussy cut".

And the title - couldn't be helped.

Basic Grey, Studio Calico, Paper Issues Swag Bag.
I love those Evalicious circle arrows
and my homemade enamel dots (are you over them yet?) LOL.
And glitter :|

The start of an Art Journal

Yeah Yeah I know you're saying another one well let me tell it did NOT start out with this in mind. I was going for a "snow" album and the Tattered Angels Glimmer Glass Album - Frosty Memories fit the bill.

And it started out blank. And as I surfed the net looking for some inspiration it seemed that there was a lot of glimmermist going on.

Sadly I do not have a lot of glimmermist so I thought watercolors may do the trick.

So I started with snow flakes on the back cover and I used a 2way glue because I wanted to remove them after I had painted over them.

I was also going for some sort of hombre look that didn't quite work out. I did without thinking use primary colors. So blue, red and yellow turned into other colors depending on how messy I was with the water.

And I got messy. What's the fun without the mess? So I blended and swooshed and pulled off the snowflakes.

And seriously it didn't look too bad.

I decided why not some glitter. And that turned out pretty good.

I basicially mimiced the same on the front cover because why reinvent the wheel when something is working.
I got to this point and the $64 question of the day was....
NOW WHAT.
In reviewing the photos I printed out it didn't in my mind seem to want to work, however, I high hopes.
Continuing on with the same technique (watercolors) basically, I did the inside cover and the first page using a die cut as a template for dots on the first real page.  I decided I was loving this and having a real good time with it all, I confidently continued on..........
Stay tuned to the same bat channel tomorrow for more....

Maddawg's Madcap at SNC...

 GLITTER.
I know glitter can be scary because it has a mind
of its own and goes everywhere.
And because I'm challenged in ways like that I
can assure you it need not be that way.
I have the Martha Stewart glitter and its packaged like
a little salt shaker with cute little bottles of glue
that goes where you put it.
So you shake it out over the glue and tap it off.
and wa-la a bit o' the glitter on your page.
You don't need a lot.
Sometimes just a little to make your point.
This banner is made out of gelato when I was playing
with the product with my pal Holli.
I also played with some embossing dies and added
the glitter with some mist splats.

So the maddawg madcap is GLITTER IT UP!
SNC is a friendly bunch just hanging out
scrappin' and chattin'
and challengin'.
