Two different horse drawn wagons

In one day.
What are the odds.
This barn.....
Amish in their horse and buggy and there
are two little boys in there which you can't see in this picture
because the picture you can see them in
didn't turn out well.
They came right by where we were parked but I
really didn't want to be obvious.
SIGH.
Next time I'm totally going for obvious.
Rolling on through Missouri headed to Kansas.

And the second horse drawn wagon was a covered
wagon coming right down the highway
toward us.
I was totally obvious this time.
How cool is that.
These store front windows are in Iola Kansas
Rolling down highway 54.

We are currently in El Dorado State Park and Tom
thinks he fixed the fridge problem.
UPDATE: we still have a fridge problem.
Its a beautiful park - that took about an hour to get a site.
It appears campground hosts assign sites without
informing the front desk.
Whoops!!!

Ducks on the water....

You can sing that too, "smoke on the water" LOL.
Woke up to this sight this morning.
And it was soooo lovely, mist coming off the water and
ducks swimming like they're on a mission.
Taking poetic license with all the sunspots.
It couldn't be helped as I was not setting foot outside in my pj's.
More fun sights on the backroads.
I love the backroads.

 Cropduster just landing.
They fly to and fro over the fields and are so much fun to watch.
I'd totally need a barf bag.
These cool silos were converted into houses.
How cool is that.
And the crossroads for the blues.
I love the blues.
They speak to me and oh my the #guitar drama
especially with my Joe Bonnamassa.
How come its not pronounced...AR-kansas. hmmm...

And another that makes you go hmm.....
cows feed on grass all day long and look at their girlish figures.
Grass people.

We made it all the way through to Missouri.
Not that we haven't had a few glitches.
Our fridge is having issues which is making us nuts.
It keeps going off, and fortunately stuff
is still cool but it's getting tricky.
So we couldn't boondock after we settled into Mark Twain's National Forest
for the night, we had to lickety split out of there and find
a campground with electric.
Found the Big Springs RV park and bless them they were available
at 7:30 p.m.  We have found RV parks do not have
people to take your rez after 5 p.m.
A total win-win AND we got a site on the river.
How cool is that.
And a lovely site it is too.
Then a truck happened by and flung a rock at our front window
leaving a crack the size of a half dollar that
now needs to be fixed.
And we were supposed to meet up with my favorite youngest
son (he's a trucker) and we missed that because
of timing and well timing.
So we're shooting for a hookup next weekend in Salt Lake.
Keep your fingers crossed.

It was a dark and stormy day....

I have always wanted to start something with that sentence LOL.
I know you have too.
Anyway, it didn't get any better coming through Florida and heading
to Alabama.
That is the county seat for Monticello, Fl.
Isn't that dramatic??
It's a beautiful building up close.
This was too cool to pass up but I had
to take it quick sooooo that's my window screen you're
looking through.
As you know I adore buildings that are not
necessarily in good shape so be warned
you'll be seeing a lot of them.
We take the secondary roads as much as possible
(unless we're in a hurry) so I pass the time
snapping things that interest me.
 And hopefully you...
This house had a ton of flags in the yard.
I couldn't get them all through the window.
Hassled mama duck and her ducklings trying
to get a close up of them.
Totally adorable.....but mama wasn't happy with me and
they finally swam off.
He was a cute little bugger.
And this guy - quite the poser.
Walked right up - had to back off with the zoom LOL.
I actually think people may live here.
Not sure.
And the farms, silos and tractors, oh my.
Love them all.
Sunset over the lake at our second camp that we
swung in by the skin of our nose.
Funny story there - we were actually looking for Hugh Smith
State Park and ended up at the North Abutment
but for another park.
And they were totally FULL.
The camp host, Clyde, was trying to make a spot for us
and found one when bad luck befell the previous
campsite occupant.
His awning blew off and tore in half so they left
a day early to get it fixed.
And who can resist sunset with ducks
gliding across the water.
Not me....
