Scrappy pages in my 6x8 album

Actually, all the parks have pamphlets of some sort
and it tells so much more than I would
wanna chat about in the journaling
which as you can see not.real.chatty.

Then there's OMGEE put stuff on the photos.
I like to think I was over that a long
time ago, but alas, I don't really mean it LOL,

So just to keep things steady on in my mind
for these photos I didn't add too
much embellies.
I did flip the pamphlet only because I punched
the holes on the wrong end but
found I love it because it sort of encompasses the 2 pages.
I do have to say, that the 3x4 page pockets
also present a challenge.
The majority - and I mean majority of my photos
are landscape.
Had to do some tricky photoshop although
I do admit that cactus are perfect for portrait.
I'm getting better.

Scrapping in my new 6x8 album w/page protectors

I'm really excited to start this album.
It works perfect in my space and gives me a break from
Travelers notebooks.
I love them - but I want something more to
protect my photos.
They have several different protectors
which is a challenge for me.
Sure, I could get just 6x8 but where's the fun in that.
So you may be aware of this first page as in the challenge
my friend Brooke and I were challenging
each other with sketches and embellishments.
We did four and are on the blog.

This is a 2 pager in which the 2nd page is behind
this one.
Don't ask....
because they're glued together.
😐

So I love collecting ephemera and the National Parks
are quite generous with it.
If you're a senior- buy the National Park pass
we get into each and every one free.
Just sayin....

I also buy NP ephemera - they are totally getting with it
now and have a bunch of really cool stickers and patches and
they have a date stamp (for the passports).
Love how it's turning out.

You can see the entire album cover here
You can see Brooke & I's challenges here, here, here & here

The 4th Scrapbook Challenge with my pal Brooke

It was a fun challenge, again. I find all challenges fun, more or less LOL.
Buttons, tags, stamps, ribbon and doilie and the sketch below.
She totally nailed it.
I think this one is a favorite.
Love the photo of her son and hubby.
My "doilie" was a cool thing I had from pink paislee.
Brooke sent Today at 9:29 AM
I love Thickers. The loves part of my title are foam thickers.
Brooke sent Today at 9:29 AM
My tag is the arrow patterned paper....cut it up and used it to layer

My challenge from Brooke gave me a 2 spread - which I only did one
and thought what the heck - lets do a 2 page.
See that photo with my big mouth open - only a long lost
cousin I haven't seen in 40 years took it.
Love that nothing changed since we were kidlets.

My challenge from Brooke was the sketch below and
patterned paper only, 6 buttons, 6 eyelets, ACK!!! 3 stamps different mediums
WHICH IS TOTALLY OVERLOOKED THAT - SO FAIL!
and handmade flowers.
Also FAIL on eyelets - I had NOT A ONE - so I used whatever
brads I had remaining - which wasn't many.
I think I had 7 and they were all different - so I used them anyway
and they totally worked.
I was so worried about brad and eyelets forgot about stamps.
Sigh.

You will also see this page in my new 6x8 album that you can
read about here !! It turned out so pretty I think.
Can't go wrong with oxides and stamps.

Forest Road 361 - Dirt & Gravel & Rocks oh my.

Oh and some pretty high drop offs.
My favorie road.

It started out innocently enouugh.
Give you just enough gravel and dirt to make
one think,
it's not so bad.

This was one of the not bad ones.
Tom scouted it out because behind it looks
like a crater but wasn't too bad.

Yeah we were climbing rocks.

And then after only seeing vegetation and a modicum
of civilization, we come around the corner
to The Wall.
No idea unless it's to keep erosion down.

In the entire 17 miles I think we met 3 other vehicles.

Mountains and valleys all around.

I was waiting patiently while Tom scouted out the next
of the rocks and holes pretty tree
right out the window.

We did reach 4+k altitude and it was quite lovely weather.

And then, all of a sudden it went from dirt to a real road.

It was 17 miles long with such pretty vistas.
The winds were in aggressive-windy sand mode so
there's a bit of sand in the air.

Saguaro National Park - East Rincon

Meanwhile in the other side of the park
things seem to be a bit more lusher and taller.
And don't forget the mountains everywhere.

Prickly pear cactus.

A blurry cholla.
Still cool.

If you see a hole in the cactus - that's where
birds are nesting.
How cool is that.

Love the drive through - it's still pretty and
hasn't gotten old.

Saguaro National Park - West

I had no idea that the Saguaro National park
was sooooo big.
This is the western part of the park
and of course cactus everywhere...........

The straw man standing in front is actually the skeleton
of a Saguaro cactus.

These are walking stick cactuses love the pretty color red.

Love the landscape it's wild and beautiful.

Buenos Aires Wildlife Park & Kitt Peak Observatory

Just rolling down the road there was
beauty all around and dem clouds.

We had observers checking us out and as we
checked them out.

And the Kitt Peak observatory - that we saw from afar
and really would've liked to roll on up top see it
but alas, the road was closed.
Still kinda closed up in Arizona.

Lake Aguirre without the water. It's so hard to imagine
that at certain part of the year this will be so
full people will be on the lake.

Cactus flower.

Love the skies, the clouds and the mountains that
look so fake but gorgeous.

The entrance to the Longhorn Grill which was closed sadly,
when we were in the area.
It is a lovely ride if you're looking to do some exploring.
We just happened on the wildlife park when we
were out for a ride.
