Packing scrappy supplies for the road

And what a conundrum picking and choosing.
I have done this for 3 maybe 4 trips now and it has been evolving.
I started out with that super satchel that is currently housing
the punches (see below).
And it worked on a limited basis as I was trying
to minimize what I brought.
 However, frustration would set in.
I didn't have this or that
which would stop me dead in my tracks
and wasn't that was totally annoying.
 And now I'm going overboard.
Oh well - and I have to apologize to Studio Calico for
my bad thoughts on these mesh zippered pockets.
Each kit comes with these meshed bags and as you can see
I've accumulated quite a bunch (I have even given some away).
But NOW....Omg.
Perfect for putting stuff in to keep things tidy.
Therefore, I have mesh bags for precut dies, stamps, and
embellishments.

 And for the scraps.
I am using Pink Fresh for the album and
I'm having some second thoughts about that - because
we are going to the mountains on a
road trip....My other road trips - were basically
earthy colors - so predictable and now I'm going to roll with
well not earthy colors.
I may trade out this water colors for the one
M's watercolors because there is more of a color choice.
And I did swap them out.
I got this PL album on sale at HL - great score
8.5x11 and am mixing it up with PL and regular page protectors.
I filled the pages already precutting the papers because
I do not take a paper trimmer with me
and with the Selphy printer I can custom size the prints.

Sadly, it took awhile for me to figure out that I
didn't NEED to fill all the pockets -
but it took me 3/4 of way to decide that.
LOL.
So I do have enough papers.
So everything sort of fits and I keep finding more because
I'm still scrapping and keeping a lot
of stuff on my desk.
This tucks neatly under the couch in the RV.
Actually the album will be stored in the overhead and
now the decision is do I additionally take
my faux traveler's journal and my regular journal.
Regular journal is gonna be a given so I can write in it everyday
as I  tend to forget the day to day stuff because
I can't scrap everyday on the road and
the mind is a terrible thing for remembering.
Packing it all in.

We are hitting the road today- and its raining which
will hopefully keep all the others off the road.
I'll be posting photos as we roll and when internet is available.
Gonna be a fun time.

Almost packed and ready to roll

Getting ready to take off for our Southern Route Tour
and this trip my scrapbook box has been upgraded.
Last trip I packed my supplies in this little box and actually
did okay with having the limits.
I did get a bit frustrated using just scissors but eventually
got over - one by finding big scissors and second
deciding that handmade cutting was part of the charm.
What I'm doing different this trip is upgrading to a bigger box but
also combining the travel diary and the road trip album
if that makes sense.
This is the basic grey captured album I had forever and
created basic pages with papers and added
pocket pages.
This time I added the PL cards to the pocket pages
so all that remains - writing in the diary as we go and filling
in the photos and do-dads and added journaling.
So I put together a "basic" kit so to speak with
punches, mists, stamps and alphas, pop dots, tiny attacher
dry and wet adhesives, embellishments
additional PL cards and papers for mats.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something.
I also learned to put the majority of things in a baggy.
Especially the mists , glue, and inks.

(Don't know if you noticed but from one photo to the next -
stuff was added LOL.
For the road trip last year - I did acquire a Canon Selphy
printer which is also packed in there.
It's compact and prints really lovely photos.
Its perfect for putting together an album "on the fly" as
we get downtime on the road-which brings in
the "diary" part of it because the ole memory can be a
temporary thing. LOL.

Of course I overpacked on the clothes and probably still don't have
enough or what I want to wear. Arrgghh!!!

Please follow our travels on the blog and just note that the
internet can be quite dicey on the road.

Road trip album - scrapping on the road

I have some questions which is why its not done - yet.

This is the BG chipboard album that I had forEVER.
The size is 8.5 x 9.5 perfect for traveling actually.
I decided to go wild on the cover
mostly because I could - I used Studio Calico color theory.
I started with pink and then decided I didn't want pink
so I covered it up with blue and green.
Found various stamps and bubblewrap to add more fun and depth.
I found I love chaotic stamping and decided it was
perfect for the inside covers.
I used watercolors on the inside - just to mute the stamps a bit.
Inka gold to round it out.
And then there are these kraft pages & envelope.
And here's the question
which is why we are here - and why I'm dithering about.

I can't decide if I want to do those kraft pages now or on the trip as I go.
I'm also going to include those pocket pages
too for more photos and cards.

Things to keep in mind -
I will not have a trimmer with me,
Also with the selphy printer the largest size photo is 4x6.
Then there's the journaling and how windy will I be.
This is also going to be a short trip.

Therefore, if I do the pages early - how will that affect things on the road.
And if I wait, how will minimal supplies affect it.

Inquiring minds want to know.
