The beginnings of Vol 2 of my Travelogue Album

Fortunately I purchased a couple of these albums ahead of time
and it paid off as noted in this post.
This is a 6x8 chipboard album that I get at Hobby Lobby.
HL is reducing their scrapbook products sadly and
I'm hoping they continue these.
It comes with page protectors and of course extras
that can be purchased.
I do gesso the entire album prior to slapping paint on.
So I happen to be a fan of Susanne Rose Arts and she
does alot of journals, artist cards, mixed media, stamping, etc.
So I looked up acrylic paints and she
does some really cool things finger painting it on.

So I did.
I used every paint color I had.
🤣

And I love the results.

Well now, it needed something BIG and COLORFUL.
Thankfully, I didn't give up some of the 4x4 Quickutz dies
because I was going SMALL.
Anyway I'm glad I kept this flower and swirling thing.

I also did some stamping on the background and sploshed it
with white flecks using the toothbrush method.
I love the look but it is quite messy because it goes EVERYWHERE.

I also decided on the front cover to use go with two flowers
I did each flower a different way - one I used
the die cut remains as a "stencil" which went well
BUT
I am not the best painter and it was hard to stay in the stencil,
so I decided to trace the cut out and still
had the same problem staying in the lines.
I decided not to put a flower on the back, but just use some
reandom stamping.
I really LOVE the '70's psychedelic vibe.

I also made an opening page - using the tag
to journal that this is part 2.
I really wanted Oregon to complete the first album,
but it would make it too bulky so
now its Oregon part 2.

Created a new 6x8 chipboard Album cover.

This is the front and I kinda went crazy with the enamel paint.
I really wanted something different and boy did I get it.
There are stencils and stamps in there.
Not much else I can add LOL.

The inside covers that I did first and they
at least have some sort of theme going on and
you can sort of figure things out.
Stencils and acrylic paints and a handdrawn
spaceship.
Sort of spooky.

And below is the paper with too much paint and
not enough stencil leftovers when
I remembered to actually do it.

That turned out way better than the album cover but
I'm gonna stick with it because it always
could turn out worse.
🤣

Here Comes the Sun...

A baby boy album for the grandson and I had so
much fun doing it and it was way
out of my comfort zone.
(I did crochet a blanket too)
I wanted to make a 6x6 album because most
people print their photos 4x6.
I used fun enamel paint colors that I tried to match
with the papers
on a 6x6 chipboard album I got
I really dithered about between wanting and album
with page protectors and a boring
baby paper pad I had
OR

Using this fun bright paper that I can't remember
the name of and I thought I wrote down yet
here we are.

Using all kinds of dies and stamps.

Had a lot of fun using the critters
and that's when I found that the giraffe-
Gertrude - I some how lost the itty bitty dies
for his face.
So I winged it.
I can't begin to express how annoyed I am
about losing that die.
I am careful.
I put it in a dish.
I count them twice.
Tore everything apart looking.
Hoping they show up.

Tucked in tags and made envelops
because there were not a lot
of journaling spots on the pages
I sort of got carried away.

I did a lot of hand drawing which I
normally don't do - because I don't do it well.
I wanted it to bright, fun, happy
and cute.

Love how it turned out
and if you know the mfg of the paper I used
I'd love it if you'd let me know.
