A pretty boy page

This page turned into a very pretty page for a boy page
and I'm oday with that.
Love all the do-dads, project life cards and the small touches.
Love the owl peeking out for a
whimsical touch.
There is Sam and Lou sitting under a tree
enjoying a treat on a pretty day.
Love the layers and especially that doily with some
light splatters of mist.
And that wooden hashtag is perfect.

Rubber Ducky

Adorable photo with some colorful paper
can't go wrong.
The photo made me smile it was so fun
and typical brother stuff.
Used some SC art screen ink paint on some
really really really old Tim Holtz grungeboard alphas.
Turned out different.
I have no clue about art screen.
I have sooooo much stuff now I don't use so
I try not to jump on every new thing that comes out.
Gets expensive too and plus I really don't have the room.
But...I like the look.
Divided the page up with some neat paper and
tossed some mist around.
And while I was looking through my new stuff.
I found that banner that says "you're the one."
Love it when a plan comes through.
LOL.
Like I have plans.

One of my favorite designs

That I lifted from Shimelle for 3 photos on a page.
The photos I used are 4x4ish and
having a cluster to the right of them is a lot of fun
Using some WRMK birthday pocket card.
Studio Calico papers that I bought 2 of this
time because there are always those A-B sides that is so cool
that makes decisions so difficult to use both.
Solved it!
Sam's third birthday was a spiderman theme
so I used spiderman colors for
these fun B&W photos and of course those fun stars.

Camping in Cayuga with the grands

First there was swimming...

 Then there was roasting marshmallows......
 Really HUGE marshmallows
Connor couldn't decide between roasted and raw...

Had a great time.
Too short.

A crisp, white look sortof

with pops of red and other colors
made me swoon.
Although,
I was really torn on this paper because I really
liked the B-side which is really
cool ledger looking.
However, when I tossed this photo on this polka dotted paper with
the fun, colorful numbers as a mat there was no debate.
And I didn't want to overwhelm everything either.
So I kept the embellies light.
And believe it or not, I love mists, I adore mists,
but I was really going back and forth whether to include
mists on the page.
I have also been trying to use that red striped bag
forever. It does have a gold heart emblazoned on it and
I think that was my problem because I have
issues covering up cool things like that.
 I also doodled the outline.
I know.
I'll give you a minute to recover from your shock.
So Lou's sweet smile is front and center and
that was the goal.
I also love the PL card that I cut down.
I KNOW - I'm just breaking all kinds of issues
that have been plaguing me.
Studio Calico, Spellbinder leaves (I think) from my die cut box.
Those hearts match the card better IRL.
And the mist really added that something extra.
But I do love the crispness of the entire page.

OKay - so if you follow me, you know I have been extremely annoyed
with apple no supporting aperture anymore, so I stumbled
upon Aftershot Pro3 and after viewing a couple
of videos - took the leap.
Anyone use that photoshop? If so, let me know.

Aperture does so many things behind the scenes that don't
need thinking about and keeps a lot of hoop jumping to a minimum
that is causing a great stumbling block for me to
be able to move on.
However, there is going to come a time when Aperture is
going to cease to exist and I need to be ahead of that disaster
so I can access my photos in the future.
I think Aftershot is the closest to modeling Aperture.
Fingers crossed I didn't waste my money.

A rainbow of colors

That is just too fun.
Love the stripes - it reminds me of fruit strip gum.
Is that still around???
I don't chew gum anymore. (sigh)
Anyhoo, used a bit of bazzill with punches, lots
of star punches as you will see.
That tree die cut has been in my die cut/punch stash forever,
so glad I got to use it.
In full disclosure I did dither about with the title.
I just couldn't decide.
I did die cut a couple of titles that hopefully I'll use later.
One was one of those little alphas that you can do all the letters
in one couple of turns by Sissix.
They were too fat and chunky - but adorable all the same.
In fact the 2 is that alpha set.
The other is lemonade by QK.
Majority is Studio Calico stuff paper and PL cards and that
yellow transparency.
Aren't those two adorable.
As you can guess
I keyed the colors from their colorful jackets.

Birthday page without the "theme papers"

I love B&W photos.
They are so much fun to work with because everything goes
and reduces the clash of colors.
Isn't that owl adorable?? From a Halloween sheet that
I've been eking out and using sparingly.
This adorable sticker came from Studio Calico I think
and when on some shopping spree found that cupcake.
Looks delish.
I did break out the die cut machine, punch and
fussy cut the "title".
Love the arrows and shock upon shock
had that gray number that was
perfect.
The Studio Calico number page really
helped making it a celebration page.
I have so much paper and none of it "themed" really
so it was kinda of neat to do DIY.
Sprayed some SC color theory around just do
do something different.
I hardly ever spray mists anymore,
mostly because my spraying is totally out of control.
LOL.

This is the third birthday for April - lots of grands in that month
and you got it - another one without a "theme paper"
coming up. If you check here another birthday page.

Finally got that bag on the page

I purchased some bags awhile ago with the intent
of getting them on a page because they
caught my eye and I thought they were cool.
It took forever but ta-da......
I did tone it down with some gesso and I cut the
bag apart because of some bulk.
After I did it, it was like DOH...I could've
left the bag in tact and stuck a tag in it
which could've been construed as predictable
and we can't have that.
Next time. LOL.
It was sooooo perfect for this page with Chef Lou
and taste tester Sam.
I even finally killed those grey word strips card
(say that 3 times fast).
And that cupcake has been around a page or three
so I'm finally glad it found a home.
Studio Calico, Paper Issues, thickers.
I had a lot of fun with this page but there was
a lot of rearranging before I was happy.

Fussy cut layers

I was really stumped for a title for the blog so work with me here.
This is a Shimelle collection (the first) and it was
fun to work with because while its about travel
it can be used for 2 little dudes walking through their 'hood.
Anyway the layers just kept rolling and I love
one of her pages that has those clocks, scales and phones and
cups among other things so I just fussy cut them out
and layered them in along with some wooden hearts and papers.
And that ampersand was a new stamp.
I love the ledger paper and used the preprinted designs
to set the photo and layers in.
The bow is not Shimelle papers but it works so well
with Sam's coat - so another goodie
out of my die cut box used.
And that ladybug peeking out....isn't that adorable.
And man the sun was bright this morning trying to
photograph this page, but it worked.
Mist by Heidi.....
One stamp is Shimelle's the other is Studio Calico and the
title was a bounce off - whenever I am stumped
for a title my pal April always has an idea - she came up
with winter buddies which was fun......
but it led me to baby it's cold and I love it.
We have a great process -
do you have a scrap buddy that you can bounce things off?
I miss our cyberscrapping days -

Big tag and fussy cut

I love big tags and I really don't use them
often enough. This one was
homemade - because the ones I had just weren't
the right color.
The tag works both as a "sort of mat" and for journaling.
I love the paper issues "I have issues cards" and
this one had a fox on it which works so well here that
I just fussy cut it out.
I'd love to use with the "I have issues" sentiment
but I'm afraid people may not take it the right way. LOL.
That itty bitty fussy cut fox in the corner there
was tricky - but it worked out.
I added a bit of stamping here there for background and layers.
This turned out adorable.
Sam is adorable.
Basic Grey.
