A Traveler's Notebook for extra pix

I started this TN (I did the outside long time ago and it just laid about). So watching some vids on this I decided I needed a place for "reject" or "double" or "wrong sized" pictures to go because why waste them. So I'm putting them in this album AND I'm trying to do it without pop dots. I KNOW. So far so good but its early yet. 🤣 And it kind of turned into "mixed media" but I have to be careful because the paper is thin.

Working on doing things a bit different but
a style is a style.

I'm also not needing to do a bunch of journaling because
I have journaled these photo in my Travelogue album
and sometimes its just not needed.

When trying to not use pop dots which is seriously tough
for me as I love dimension, stamps and
stencils can be a friend.

Working on my layering of stamps and stencils.

Hanging from a plane

Favorite eldest son is an adreneline junkie.
Here he is hanging from a perfectly good plane
and I'm not seeing a chute.
In the meantime,
I couldn't find any paper I liked for a base so
I made my own using oxides and distress inks along
with the sun stencil, and some stamps.
That plane is perfect.
Anyway, I was going to put a regular photo there
but nah! I just couldn't it needed
fussy cutting and some pop dots.

It was a fun page to do.

Spongebob and a Walrus

I got ole Spongebob off the internet somewhere
and I did figure out how to piece him
together.
It was a lot of fun and kind of turned out cute
for a birthday card.
Who doesn't like Spongebob.
And on the inside I happened to have that swirly
background premade as well as
the walrus - sissix die
and stamps
for the inside of the card.

Didn't Spongebob have a walrus friend?
I didn't have anything to make Squidward with.
LOL.

Father's Day Card

Of course using Tim Holtz stamps.
Love this set and I don't use it as often as I should.
Made a background on some watercolor paper, outlining in black ink.
I stamped the card with the clock and then decided
it was a tad busy so I used some of Tim's paper
to bring it down a tad.
The vehicles in the stamps I find tough getting
a good stamp and I finally worked it out
by using those sticky back foam to stamp on.
Using a brayer helped too.
And then the fussy cut the rest.

Love this sentiment and used that because
the other Father's day sentiment is
on the front of the card.
I only hope I remembered to sign the card.

Halloween tags for the grands

I really had a great time doing the tags.
Normally I do cards but I wanted to do something different
so tags it is.
I also send $1 being the big spender that I am
and I'll be attaching them on the back with
double sided tape.
I love how they turned out.
And I'm also impressed that I used stash AND I was
able to get those Tim Holtz dies done.

That Halloween die with the 4 characters has a lot of itty bitty parts.
I so do NOT do well with itty bitty parts.
Howver, I did find out that
IF YOU DO ONE CHARACTER AT A TIME AND REFER
TO THE PICTURE ON THE FRONT OF THE PACKAGING
THERE'S A GOOD CHANCE ONE CAN GET
A FAXSIMILE THERE OF
OF THE CHARACTER.
Just sayin....
Anyway it worked for me as I tried to do them all at once.
Total disaster.

I did some fussy cutting and the background was made from
Tim Holtz oxides and distress inks.
Sadly I didn't make notes but basically,
yellow, orange, brown and black.

Using up stash and stamping

This cluster is a mix of stamps, diecuts and
that adorable little owl (and I have no idea what line)
but it's perfect tucked into that heart.
Used water color on the heart and almost
screwed up getting that heart in the correct place
when I was cutting the paper down from 12x12 to 8x8.
That little hashtag stamp is perfect because their
mama is like queen of the hashtags.
I can't think that quick LOL!
Love the photo of the kidlets and they are growing
so fast and looking so much more mature.
Lots of stash being used up which is cool-
makes room for more LOL.
Actually it's kind of nice as it can get quite overwhelming
and the sad part is that even with all that stash
I sometimes can't find what I want.
You ever have that problem?

Used some mists

Love that the title already had splats on it and it
fit this page nicely.
And the old library card makes me swoon.
And these feathers in combo with the feathers is very cool.
I used some ranger mists on the background as well as
some stamps to give some dimension.
(Trying to get those stamps in there - I have a ton)
This was a fun page to do and I love the colors.
Doesn't that yellow door make you swoon?
Anyhoo, Annie and Owen headed back to school with
mixed excitement.
They love learning but had such a great summer
it's hard to get back to the swing of it.

Studio Calico, Ranger Mists.

Stamping a background

I have sooooo many stamps - and I'm sure you do as well.
Because of that I decided that they need to be used.
All at once.
LOL.
And why not.
Those cute banners came in one piece that I couldn't
work in on an 8x8 page so I whacked them up.
Love how they turned out.

Because of the wild stamping I kept other things
to a minimum and I love the photo.
It is layered with paper and a transparency on the back.
I have a bunch of back to school pix of the grands
so stand by.

Halloween cards

Yes I ventured into the card realm.
I don't do it very often because cards baffle me.
I don't know why.
So I stamped a bunch of things and cut them out.
And I did a bunch - when I finally
figured out when my hand cramped that maybe
they all didn't need to be whacked.
Therefore I have extras.
Alot of extras.
Let me know if I can help in your Halloween endeavors.
OH and that's Tim Holtz's spider web that I had
forever. Glad I remembered and used it.
With white ink - that looks grey.
I'm diggin' that.
I used a combo of Clear Stamps & CraftSmart Stamps.

I made them a bit different and decided to batch them
as I had 9 to do for the grandkidlets. It just seemed more efficent
and less stressful.
I really liked the ghosts as you can tell - and they
did stamp with two eyes but I didn't
have smaller eyeballs to now they look like minions.
Gasp.
Should've made them yellow.
The inside has more ghosts, spiders and bats and
a sentiment.
Either Happy Halloween or Trick or Treat.
Its my way of being creative.
LOL.

The ghouls & goblins came next

Love the Bella Blvd papers, added clear stamps, some
ranger spiced marmalade and had some orange twine & dear lizzy
frames from another kit to use.
I bought additional papers in this line because I loved
the border strips and also the B side so I really really needed 2 more sheets.
JUST IN CASE.
Fun fun in the dress up department, Amelia is a cyclops monster.
Never heard of that, well I know about cyclops just not in a kid
friendly kind of way, Cavin was a soldier and Quintin a ninja.
Got all the bases covered.
I feel better already.
So I'm not sure if the flow is off kilter or just me. I became kind of
frustrated because I became all about the spiders and I left
them at home. I stamped spiders and tediously cut them out and used
some black gelato on them.
But I wasn't happy. So when I got home I hunted down
those elusive spiders I had in my stash
and replaced them.
They are way more believable and cooler than the ones I did.
And leftover stash from in washi tape from Halloween past.
Love that.

4 pages so far, if you're counting. I know I was because I was
totally shocked at how much I got done with all
the goofing around that was going on.
Because I participated in it all.
It couldn't be helped.
