Fall is in the air

With some new Echo Park autumn papers that I cut

down to 8x8 page size because 

this is going to mom.

The papers are adorable with their leaves and Autumn theme.

I picked them up at my favorite LSS

Treasured Memories

on the 5th Saturday where all kinds of discounts apply.

I really should've bought more.

 The pumpkin, however, is a QK die. 

It's perfect.

Don't the colors rock?

 I cut the green strips and then sort of overlapped them.

I really like the look and it was great for tucking
things in.

The kidlets breaking out scooters in the leaves.

Looks like fun as long as raking isn't involved although
kidlets may think its fun.

And beautiful fall colors - yum!

Vellum title

As well as some embellies.

I simple to use vellum as shapes and they

do add so much so I

spruced those circles up with some stamping.

And that cool tree in which

I have a love/hate relationship with. That tree from Spellbinders

 is sooo intricate and no matter how many times I run

it through the die machine, including using wax paper

it is really tough to get it out of the paper in one piece.

especially with cardstock.

But alas its a cool tree.

 More tags.

I love tags.
They are perfect as they are or to use for
journaling, place for embellies or to just be.

 The title was die cut from QK Emily font.

Its a beautiful font and I should use it more.
Remember back in the day lower case and caps came separate?

Well I never purchased the capital letters for it - so maybe

I'll hunt them down on ebay.

This came out really cool and the Studio Calico paper

perfect for this photo.

I love this photo and as I say in my journaling

I'd love to be a bug in the grass eavesdropping on this conversation

Annie and Owen seem to be having.

Using the same design sort of

I'm okay with that.

Just got this fun paper on sale from Studio Calico

shopping on the road LOL.

 It's perfect for two little boys checking crab tracks

at the shore.

 I was in a giddy mood at the time

and gave the ole crab googly eyes.

Tossed some mists about.

Love these layers of old scraps.

Using scrap strips

Still trying to use up some scraps.

And stickers - Basic Grey.

And it's perfect for the photo.

 Love all the fun layers.

I did change the strips from horizontal to vertical.

 I'm in the front getting this photo and Kevin

was on the side so he got Annie

trying to go for the rabbit ears and if you look

close so is Owen.

Poor grandpop had no clue. LOL.

All Basic Grey except the mist and enamel stars.

Working with 6x12 size page

this worked really well because I had this paper that

was a twitch smaller than 6x12, so I added

that little extra with a matching paper and stitched it on.

 Is that ice cream cone not adorable from

HL - Paper studio I think.

And the paper is working well with the photo.

 I really love how it came out and the doily is perfect

foil to make the photo pop.

 The white enamel dots bring that color over to right of the page.

The wood word (say that fast) is also Paper Studio

while the paper is Basic Grey, Studio Calico heart, enamel dots

and the EK Success word stickers.

Got some more grandkids pix comin' up - I know you're excited.

And used my new software (lots of hoop jumping) but I gots a watermark on my page.

8 inch circle page

I haven't done a circle page in a long time and

I need to do it more because they are fun.

It actually started out as a mat on a 12x12 page but I

just wasn't feeling the love so....

When I tossed this photo on it as I was passing by it

just flew together like in 15 minutes.

Whew!

 I rounded the corners because it looked like I needed to.

It just looked right.

 Behind the photo for some dimension are

my Creative Cafe stamps.

Love those stamps.

I need to figure out how to reink them without making a mess.

A fun page, for a fun photo - worked out well.

It was a different kinda page - I didn't really obsess about

embellies or where to put them.

Its one of the fastest pages ever.

Not like I'm looking for speed but sometimes I get

completely anal about everything and

it becomes tiring.

It fits really fine in an 8x8 page protector too.

Give it awhirl.

I need to find a bigger circle to cut a 12x12.

Remember this post on what to do with overwhelming scraps

well this is book #3. Book #1 went to my pal Holli

and she's still working on it.

However, this is done, finis, complete and love how it turned out.

This is for Jill and I hope she likes it.

I also apologize for the photos as the book is chockfull of stuff

and it wants to pop open at random times....

so therefore, my finger is holding it down and focus

is a bit iffy.

 I used an enormous amount of PL cards and

do-dads and those gi-normous letters

as their initials.

Lots of stash and packaging done and in the garbage

and used! 

Love how it turned out.

Jill sends lots of photos and lately I had been greedy

doing a bunch for me, so I decided

that an album would be fun rather than random pages.

I didn't realize until after I started how many pages were in the book.

Towards the end, I started stapling some together

because honestly, not that I didn't have enough photos BUT

it really would've been TOO much.

As it is, its already fat and won't lay flat and I'm still 

trying to figure out how to "close" it per se.

I'm not sure I have anything strong enough to hold

and also not look real dumb.

Any thoughts?

Artful pages

Thankfully art is alive and well in schools and

my grandkids are quite talented artists.

So it was really fun to document 

and today I have created two layouts

for your blogreading delight.

So how about that adorable pup.

He's a very old Technique Tuesday stamp.

 Again I used most of my Studio Calico

and Creative Cafe stamps around this page 

 and

because that wasn't busy enough

I threw in the Tim Holtz stencil, using yellow paint

with modeling paste.

 Added a few do-dads namely my homemade enamel dots, arrows and a heart sticker and called it a day.

 Kraft paper is the base cut down to 8x8

And honestly all 3 artists made some mighty fine art

AND I WANT THEIR ART FOR SCRAPBOOK PAGES.

How cool would that be....

 I didn't want to be a copy cat on the second page

so I lifted once again a prize ribbon from Soaphouse Mama

- she does them all the time and what better

embellie could there be but that.

And I cut the circles myself - mostly because I didn't have 

punches that nested that closely and I'm normally not that brave LOL.

 The little bird is from some no-name embellishments

I picked up at Michael's and

those stars are from Studio Calico kit and finally

used them babies all up.

Yay!!!

Because it was a wild background that I keyed off

of from the artwork I gessoed where the photo and do-dads are

and found I liked it just fine and left it there.

The heart arrow is wooden - and stuck out like a sore thumb

in its pure form so I smooshed some watercolors

around to match the stars and wa-la.

Worked out well.

Mixing a bunch of greens

And I'm not apologizing

because it seemed to work.

I wanted this paper because it wasn't in your face

and I had the shamrock paper which was.

For some reason I whacked a chunk out of the background

paper so the only way to use it was to

cut into 6x12 size.

Love it.

 I fussy cut the shamrocks out because they

were totally adorable and

just used a strip as an anchor.

 The title came in a PL card (again with that I know)

Do you find you get on a streak with something?

Anyway I first cut the words in strips

and it didn't really ring my chimes so I fussy

cut each letter.

Love that result.

I also got to use a bunch of enamel dots too.

Woohoo stash going down.

Easter's on the way!!!

Made some simple cards for the grands from

The Paper Studio.

Nothing fancy, little fussy cutting on some and

cotton tails.

Now all I need to remember to do is mail them.

Big tag and fussy cut

I love big tags and I really don't use them

often enough. This one was

homemade - because the ones I had just weren't

the right color.

The tag works both as a "sort of mat" and for journaling.

 I love the paper issues "I have issues cards" and

this one had a fox on it which works so well here that

I just fussy cut it out.

I'd love to use with the "I have issues" sentiment
but I'm afraid people may not take it the right way. LOL.

 That itty bitty fussy cut fox in the corner there

was tricky - but it worked out.

 I added a bit of stamping here there for background and layers.

This turned out adorable.
