One for the books

I loved books when I was a kid and it

followed me into adulthood so

when I got this from Studio Calico couldn't 

help but use it.

Love switching off to the 6x12 size.

(I wanna try 9x12 but need to find page protectors)

 Of course I cut the big tag into the books and title.

I love the owl peekin' out.

Wise ole owl.

 When I was in HL the other day Tim Holtz had these

bottlecaps. I KNOW! 

I love bottlecaps and you'll be seeing a lot of them.

ALOT.

What does it have to do with books?

It matches LOL.

But of course Sam loves books.

His mom is a librarian.

Be yourself

Rolling with 6x12 size because the paper

happened to be whacked down to that size.

Actually it may be a tad smaller but it fits in the page

protector so I'm rolling with it.

 Fussy cut that camera out and doodled around the heart

and the page. I have been doing a lot of

doodling about because it just seems to finish off the page.

 Playing around with pic collage again and

it was kinda painful.

I really wanted a collage look like yesterday's page.

These are pre-done and you can't make

too many adjustments which was frustrating.

It came out okay.

I did change all the photos to black and white

and they are all selfies with me in all of them and

a mix of grands, hubby, favorite youngest son - 

all peeps from our travels this past year.

All Studio Callico, some watercolors and Pink Fresh title.

Using diecuts for this page

I have an array of sissix and quickutz dies and

decided - why not. (also punches)

There are times - alot of times, actually, I can't find or don't

have in my possession the

premade embellishments that I want

or that go with the photo/page I'm creating so

I've been digging into my stash.

 The generic ones can be precut ahead of time and I do

have a box full of them.

Sometimes they work- sometimes they don't either. LOL.

So I do cut out white - they seem to work best and

then "jazzed" these up with some watercolors because

they appeared too "stark" for this page.

 And these buttons - are sooooo cool.

Love all the goodies you get in the jar.

These are from Buttons galore and this jar

comes with all these colors, the sequins and those

itty bitty glassy thing up on the flower.

Tossed some mist about.

They never take a bad pix.

(which is totally annoying to those of us that do LOL)

Continuing with April birthdays

April is a happening month for birthdays

in this family and continuing

on with Studio Calico on this 6x6 page 

celebrates Lou's birthday and his dad's that

happen to be on the same day.

 This paper has a fun "confetti" type celebration look but

I whacked a hunk out of it, therefore it needed whacking down to 6x12.

I love that size.

Used up some transparency stash that I had forever

and totally works with this paper.

Totally love 6x12 size

And I don't do as often as I used to.

I'm not sure why.

Did a bunch of layering with mats

as well as clustering.

It uses alot of leftovers and stash

that I had forever.

Love it.

 I never thought I'd ever work in that Big City

chipboard piece.

And finally.................

It works very well in this little cluster.

 And a tiny littly cluster bottom left

that is needed for balance.

It looked plain so I drew lines around the page with

little scribbles going on.

It's actually a very good size for a 4x4 photo.

This is Studio Calico for the most part.

These little moments are truly remarkable

The quote (as the title) was either the A or B side on paper from

my Studio Calico kit and I did use it 

somewhere else but alas, memory isn't kicking in.

However, I needed a title (I know you're surprised).

And that was perfect because eating

your first ice cream cone of the summer on the front stoop of

your house just starts everything off right.
It is an everyday, real life Americana moment
 passed down from generation to generation caught on film.

The title also covers the journaling because otherwise

it would be stating the obvious and we wouldn't want that. 

And its perfect, because if a mess is made

(and I have no doubt that it was) you 

can just hose them and the stoop down. :D !
So a total win-win.

Tis 6x12 size (haven't done that in a long time and my favorite size)

because parents - this one's mine. bwahahahaha!

I also used some sort of stamp around the edge with some pink ink.

And the mustache- symbolic for the inevitable ice cream mustache. :)
