Homemade project life cards

 I love making my own project life cards.

They are so much fun when Tim Holtz and his oxides and distress inks 

are at your fingertips.

I added the coffee cup which I drew was added.  I

fussy cut that adorable house from one 

of those embellishments from the Pink Fresh paper pad

which I have to admit that all the cards came from there.

Finally used some really really old Studio Calico washi tape

and that stamp on the circle where I attempted a

concentina fold with tissue paper.

The butterflies are a Michael's stamp - like in the $1 bin

and that card was made with shimmer powders.

Love them.

Also just between you me that circle with the conentina fold

is covering up and hole that said Good times.

I thought if I cut it out I'd like that "look" and

because the card I used it on had journaling and those

itty bitty grey dots covered the writing 

AND

therefore a repurpose of that premade acrylic card that

I whacked up because it seemed like a good idea at the time.

The struggle was real.

Catching up with fun new pages in my Traveler's Notebook

 Only a few pages remaining this TN - woohoo!

It went really fast and it's is relatively FLAT!

I'm really enjoying the challenge of slim to none dimension.

So this cutie pie is our great nephew Mateo

who was a long time coming.

Happy, sweet, inquisitive and friendly babe.

Loved his Uncle Tom right out of the gate. 

Need to fix my bottom sentence.

How can one forget a word when writing. 😐

I am so diggin' the MS alpha punch but those little

devils can be found hiding everywhere.

They work perfectly in this album.

I also used a lot of die cuts on this page. 

I must say those small-medium size embellishment 

triangle immediately went to a quad.

Sigh.

And it just kept getting bigger because more

colors were required (in my mind)

to "balance" things out.

 And here we have the parents.

I actually look pretty okay in this photo.

Usually my hair is a hot mess and I look chubby.

I did leave a lot of space there and hopefully

more journaling. I wasn't very windy when I wrote this

and also had issues with words.

Sigh.

Anyone else play charades in their head when hunting

down a word that just brings it all together?

 And I found a REAL scrapbook shop.

Swoon.

It was jam packed with goodies. I think it 

took me 5-6 spins around before I actually saw 

everything and then I missed a bunch.

 I have a wide variety so this oughta be fun

working it all in. LOL.

I need to locate my other blank TN OR maybe

DIY one. I do like the rings because I can add stuff

in like the national park pamphlets.

Had so much fun with this.

We were camped in a friend's backyard and

this little groundhog was our neighbor.

Every now and then he'd scamper across the yard

into the woods.

I couldn't resist.

Oh and if you know about the Shadow - you're really old.

My pal Holli stamped and mailed that fun critter. 

LOL

 Had that birthday sentiment for a long time and

kept forgetting to use it.

Well.

Stash Bust.

Loved that we could get together and celebrate

my brother in laws birthday.

 Of course I had to document our trip to Hershey and

chocolate covered bacon.

Yum.

There were 4 slices 4 different ways and each

had an abundant of chocolatey goodness.

And for the TH phrase up there - I actually finally

bought a Tsquare ruler and guess who

STILL had trouble making straight lines. 😐

And some of the leaves are changing.

It's going real slow

and I wanted to get our home in on the

leaf peeping action.

I have had that acorn flair button forEVER.

Finally.

There's a mix of a lot of stuff that of course

I don't have the packaging too.

So you'll have to guess. LOL.

I'm also doing pretty good with the no dimension rule.

More or less.

TN - Completed already!

Shocked me too.

For some reason - I thought LAYERS as oppossed to DIMENSION

would make a difference.

 LOL!

And it did in the fun, but not so much how fat 

the book became.

But I love how it turned out.

I found these pages in the book really, really fun to do.

 Mostly because I let myself not worry about

design, embellishments (whether they matched or not)

or if it was cohesive.

 It was a blast and I'm gonna do it again

as soon as I create my next journal.

 I do love the rings - because it appears I canNOT resist

dimension or layers. LOL.

I really would love the use the premade books

but alas, I can't contain myself to keeping it flat.

 Using up so much stash has been fun as well.

Some of these cards I had literally from forever.

I'm okay with using old stuff.

 Because in a 100 years from now no-one will know its

not the latest and greatest.

 This is a mix of a lot of different mfg's.

The mix works well I'm thinking.

 Those envelops - I am totally gonna miss them when they're gone.

 The paper for this is from a 6x6 basic grey pad.

Tea garden.

So this is how fat that bad boy is and would believe

there are only 5 WHITE PAGES in the book?

LOL.

It's all the other layers of patterned paper that make it pudgy.

I'm okay with that.

However, I'm gonna have a lot of books LOL.

Sigh.

To keep things interesting - I started a day planner

Because, Why not?

I have come to the conclusion that I'm not a good diary/note keeper.

Shocking to me, because that was part of my job 

once upon a time.

WELL no longer, evidently.

So...........

I'm using a Traveler's notebook that well....working on that too.

Because neither one is so not a 12x12, 8.5x11 ETC 

scrapbook page and the documentation and creative process

is sooooo different.

AND who doesn't love a challenge.

So with the brilliant deduction to start one brought on by

second guessing and because at one time, due to my job I was day planner,

calendar driven person for over 15 years ago (when

they first came out in the business world

-they had a different name that escapes me now)

but my entire life was driven and I SWORE (so much for that)

that my life would never be calendar/day planner 

driven EVER.

HOWEVER, it's not so much DRIVEN now as remembering

what happened at any given time on our Odyssey.

It's more like a diary.

An abbreviated diary, with hopeful comments that lend

to a more involved commentary.

Which may or may not be working.

I was so excited to find this day planner mostly because

I liked all the cool shaker thing going on - on the cover page.

 So after the purchase I found that I needed a day planner from March 2019

and this one started at July 2019 to July 2020.

I saw 2019-2020 and was sooooo excited UNTIL...

 I needed March.

LOL.

 So I improvised, ad libbed because being on the road and only

finding M's, HL, or ACM on the road and actually STOPPING was 

like just like not going to happen until we light and land somewhere.

 We were on the move or camping at a location

that was nowhere close to any of the above.

So imagine my chagrin when I found out I screwed up.

The internet is a wonderful thing.

I found blank calendar pages and printed them out.

and logged our journey based on the 3-4 summary

thing I had going on.

I'm telling you it's not for the faint of heart. LOL.

 I have to admit this planner has a LOT of pages.

They have the 30 day calendar.

THEN they have pages by the week.

THEN they have a comments sections.

THEN they have a summary page at the end.

What could possibly go wrong.

OVERTHINKING.

So these are my first lame attempts and any helpful/creative

hints will be so welcome.

However, I have progressed to August that even

blows me away at the pages.

I'm gonna wait until August is running into September

before I attempt to blow your mind

with my attempt at creativity.

Remember I came from a business world day planner so

this is total frivolity. 

LOL.

Traveler's Notebook - together

Finally got some internet.

It's intermittent.

I'm getting used to it.

Love that we get to travel and to visit our grands

that live in other states.

Met up with Connor in New York and

we had a wonderful time.

 We hung out in Fillmore Glen State Park.

A lovely park - but we need to take it off the list

as our rig is too big to hang there

but they let us in and gave us a spot.

 There is a lovely falls to hike and you can splash about in the river

the falls create.

Put it on your list.

It was great to catch up as Connor is growing up so fast.

He also make this lego heart and a picnic

area type thing with a lego man.

It sits on my desk and I think of Connor every time I see it.

Which is a lot.

We had a wonderful time together.

It has been a long while - Traveler's Notebook - It's a guy thing

 Favorite youngest son was able to meet up with us on the road.

Love when that happens.

However, this happened at 2 a.m.

I love the TN card - has a big SIGH on it.

LOL.

Of course I needed to include it.

 It was a lovely albeit short visit.

I made it to 4 a.m.

Not too bad but Shane had to hit the road.

Trying to get decent pix - he is quite the goof.

Won't he be shocked in the future. 

LOL.

Change up in the campground album

The campground album wasn't just ugly it was

COYOTE UGLY.

Trust me.

I did a couple of post - you can find them. 

Because they're ugly.

I actually posted a couple of pages on the blog

and I know I rendered the majority of you speechless.

So....

 I decided a dayplanner, calendar would be the way to go

especially to keep up where we camped and how long and the 

campground's information can all be done here.

And I can make it snappy.

More or less.

So being the genius I don't claim to be, I picked up this planner

and shazam- it had pages from July 2019 

through the entire year 2020.

Well....

I needed it from March because that's when we started our Adventure.

And of course I wanted all the camps from then.

So there were like bonus pages up front that I'll never use

and printed out the calendar and added those pages.

I also watched a tag video and was compelled to make tags

which is another post.  😏But I love how the tag works here.

This is planner is gonna be sooooooo much better.

Yeah, yeah I have made it clear that I would NEVER be calendar

driven again. My entire career depended on being one with my planner

however, this is different. 🤣

Tags Tags Tags

I happened on a post in Scrapaholics Anonymous FB page

that had really lovely tags.

So I watched  Lara Rahel Crosby u-tube on it and

really enjoyed it.

So, of course, I had to make tags.

She also has a challenge going on with Rachel Tallman on

making tags with the Wild Hare Kit that they both subscribe to.

Anyway I watched both and the really cool thing 

while they both subscribe to the Wild Hare - they receive

different items in their kits based on YOUR style profile.

Well ain't that interesting.

Some stuff is the same, but based on your profile

you may have different stuff in your kit.

Genius actually.

Now I need to figure out how I can sign up

AND GET THEM on the road.

Also, they also don't require a monthly subscription.

Woohoo!

I was also inspired by how they just tossed everything on.

No overthinking, no pondering, no agonizing and all their tags

were really really cool.

So that's what I did.

Very freeing.

Anyhow, check out their u-tube channels.

I have learned to make paint swirls with a paintbrush 

that actually look pretty cool.

Go me.

I did use a polka dot roller for the yellow dots

which worked out perfect I think.

 Lots of layers going on with Pink fresh, TH bird and

some stamps that were fussy cut out.

I did breakout the die cut machine because

I wanted to use this font (Vixen) for

the title.

Filled up the entire page and balanced everything on out.

Very fun.

Mixed Media - Play Loud

Love the photo.

So I used my new Tim Holtz stencil and stamp set.

I love the combo.

So also are the paints used - Dylusions.

 The numbers are also Tim Holtz rub ons.

So the stencil background seems to be covered up.

Shocking.

The top part of the stencil are holes that look

ripped up and the bottom is honeycomb looking

that is not exactly perfect.

You'd totally love it if you could see it LOL.

 The rest of the embellies are Pink Fresh

and a couple of sticko hearts.

Love that I got to use those stamps I love

how they give some dimension and cool background.

Traveler's Notebook - Home Est.

We closed on our house May 22nd so, of course, a page

needed to be done. 

 Had lots of cool stamps referring to "home."

Which, now we live full time in our RV.

Which is home.

 It's been quite the adventure so far.

We are having a great time seeing the country

as well as hangin' about the house

when we want.

We still do stuff  that one does living in a house:

cleaning

laundry

cooking

We just do it in different states.

Traveler's Notebook - Yosemite part 2

I couldn't just have lame photos of Tom and I

when there are soooo many pretty scenes

in the park to behold.

Plus I bought the Yosemite stickers at the ranger station

and 2 came in the pack.

So of course they both had to be used.

When I purchased the MS punch I also picked

up a Tim Holtz stencil and stamp set.

You will be seeing a lot of this set.

Just sayin......

Using the new set along with TH distress ink

stormy sky, peeled paint and faded jeans.

It sortof, well okay, it did end up more or less 

monochromatic.

I'm down with that AND I got to use

some Pinkfresh wooden embellies, and momenta 

wooden stickers. 

And the adorable big eared bunny is Technique Tuesday.

Traveler's Notebook - 2 pager

Love the Pink Fresh and homemade tag going on.

And that itty bitty wooden heart.

Doesn't that make you swoon.

Loved the train ride.

 I decided to go with all train pictures because they

really turned out well.

This turned into a 2 pager because of the tickets.

I glued them back to back and added them in

the rings instead of taking up space

on these small pages.

 Left lots of room for journaling.

Woo hoo.

I have decided that I totally overthink this style.

So...I'll be experimenting.

Won't that be fun!

Printed the smaller pix by mistake and didn't want to toss them

soooooo....

Of course I smooshed the nuvo drops. 

Sigh.

I have made some ahead of time so that won't happen.

Project Life - Meteor Crater

This was such a cool site.

Privately owned by the Barringer family because

the patriarch back in the day thought he'd

find the actual meteor to mine.

Fooled him.

The meteor disintegrated.

I really love this PL page. 

It's easy to print the right size photo, I love

using Tim Holtz word strips and I got Tom in the pix.

Woohoo!

My New Traveler's Notebook

Raise your hand if TN's annoy you when the get

bulky - it's hard to work in and hard to photo.

Well it does me too.

Although, TN's are not supposed to be bulky, but

how can you NOT. 

Dimension rocks the pages.

So I decided to not do that anymore because I was more

annoyed then creative.

Since going full time and wanting to go smaller

I picked up a few TN's that were on sale here and there.

This was one of them.

I didn't take a picture of the real cover because

it said "you are rad". 

Not exactly the look I was going for. LOL.

All the pages inside are plain white too

and kind of flimsy (not cardstock or PP weight)

so I'll shore them up as I go.

So I pulled out the staples, whacked everything up and

redid the cover.

We shall see how this goes.

How perfect is that!

It's from Pink Fresh - boy stuff.

As you know, if you read the previous post,

the other one, and I hope you did read it, we are

camping in the Army Corp of Engineers campground.

 All of the Army Corp camps are on the water, because

they are the champions of water.

Our site is right on the reservoir and so pretty.

Except for the sun playing peek-a-boo its been

quiet and cool. 

Hookups are water and electric, for those of you who care,

and a dump station so we'll be monitoring our tanks.

We'll be here for 5 days because we have 

business, and my brother and friends were gonna hang with.

We need to replace one of the awnings over our slide and

Camping World has ordered the part and we are

in a holding pattern until it is installed.

In the meantime, we are enjoying ourselves.
It has been quite windy here, and grey but we are
cozy in our nest.
It's been a fireplace kind of days.

TN - The Best Friends

I have to admit my friend Barb did start

out as an acquaintance and soon became a best friend.

 So many things happened.

As I was decluttering and destashing I found her Gregg

shorthand book that she lent me.

It seems that my great grandmother kept a "calendar" daybook,

etc., and she did it shorthand.

Well, isn't that cool we had that it common.

A skip or two in the generations but WE BOTH KNEW SHORTHAND.

I loved shorthand.

However, even with Barb's book I was unable to translate

my great grandmother's shorthand.

Shocking I know.

I returned her book because A. I promised I would, B. We're doing the

full time RV thing and she needed her book back and C. I needed

to let her know our future plans.

We are the type of best friends that can go for long periods of time

without contact and then SHAZAM pick up where we left

off without missing a beat.

So when she received her shorthand book, and my explanation thereof,

we made a date to get together.

It was a fun time a Chili's in Ellenton (our halfway point)

and spent hours there catching up over lunch and

a strawberry margarita.

It was so much fun and SO VERY needed.
