Black & White monochromatic look

Keeping it real simple on this one.

A photo I took, and developed myself, back in the day

 of my favorite eldest son 

snoozing.

For some reason, the black laser cut paper was

whacked down to 6x12 so another piece in my

stash forever is now on a page.

I used it to cover those dumb doilies on the paper

that I had no idea what to do with.

Win-win.

How adorable is that.

 Used some of Tim Holtz words because

they covered it all, broke out

my Quikutz Spicy Chicken alphas for the title.

I really need to use them more....

I did use that blue bow mostly because I liked it

but it was the only one that color remaining so.......

The flourish under "dream" is also a Quiktuz die - woohoo!

That baby boy just turned 36 😐😮💗.

I started the page by stamping feathers

And then fussy cut them out.

Love the way they lay curled on the page.

(they really are curled)

I then broke out when of my background stamps

of dots along with some paints -

Studio Calico - yellow 05 Color theory and

Heidi Swapp screen paint - pink and blue and put

all three on the stamp and went to town.

 Love how it turned out and it broke up the

black and white.

 Except for the stamped background this page

turned out quite monochromatic.

It totally works too.

Changed the photo to b&W

because the colors were wild and the b&w just

worked. Really well.

We were celebrating Memorial Day with a cookout

And we had bathing suits on sooooo the

less seen the better LOL.

Be yourself

Rolling with 6x12 size because the paper

happened to be whacked down to that size.

Actually it may be a tad smaller but it fits in the page

protector so I'm rolling with it.

 Fussy cut that camera out and doodled around the heart

and the page. I have been doing a lot of

doodling about because it just seems to finish off the page.

 Playing around with pic collage again and

it was kinda painful.

I really wanted a collage look like yesterday's page.

These are pre-done and you can't make

too many adjustments which was frustrating.

It came out okay.

I did change all the photos to black and white

and they are all selfies with me in all of them and

a mix of grands, hubby, favorite youngest son - 

all peeps from our travels this past year.

All Studio Callico, some watercolors and Pink Fresh title.

Cotton fields, Crossroads & A Bridge

As we took off to explore Clarksville & Batesville MS

we found cotton fields as far as the eye can see.

 And work was in progress.

 Machines doing the pickin'.

 And the cotton gin where all good cotton balls

go to become awesome clothes.

 Rolled with some B&W because it just 

seemed cooler of some

structures around the town.

 Isn't this mural gorgeous?

 And the ground zero blues club that was closed

when we swung by so the only blues

we heard was on the radio.

Sigh.

And the crossroads sign signifying

the beginning of the blues. 

 Raise your hand if you remember the song

"Ode to Billy Joe".

Well this is not quite the same Tallahatchie bridge

he jumped off of.

It's the new one as the old one collapsed

in June of 1972.

This is the underside because quite frankly the

top wasn't very interesting.

There is supposed to be a plaque commemorating

the bridge but we couldn't find it.

You'd think they'd be more creative with this bridge.

Innocence

Love this series of black and white photos that Jill took after the tragedy in CT. It was a blessing to her to have her children at home, safe and in bed.

 Sleeping blissfully, innocently.

I started making this page for another picture - but it just wasn't working out so change of plans worked perfectly. She actually combined this series and made one 4x6 (or 3x5) photo. Love collagy looks like this.

And bonus is that the B side of the Authentique base paper is ledger paper so she can totally journal on the back. I also used the last of paper up with "little moments" sentiment.

We had a lovely time in NJ, however, my photos are less than stellar and I tried to be sooooo careful - even using auto to make sure I didn't screw things up. Sigh. Photoshopping can ONLY do so much. My challenge for the day....
