Lines and clusters

I had a vision when I started this page and

at the end I really didn't realize the vision but I still love the page.

I stamped the line across and used ribbon

and washi tape for this sequence of photos wanting to use

the lines as a "movement" and grounding.

 I kept the clusters really similar and near the photos
again to help in the grounding
especially since the lines aren't too straight.
I also wanted to use a lot of textures - thread, ribbon, washi
to work with the stamping.

 Using smaller photos they were able to be nestled in between
the lines with the clusters.

Since I had my QK emily out, I again, used this font

for the title using this green vellum

as well as for the photo mats.

I sewed around the edges and my machine

was totally wonky - so once I started I had to finish.

Sigh.

I added the journaling along the lines

and I think that pulls it altogether. It may not have

turned out to be my 'vision' but I like the end result.

Pastel watercolor palette.

And there it is - watercolors on watercolor paper.

Although in full disclosure - the yellow is some yellow from

the excess I squirted out when I was doing my bible

journaling page.

I muted it a tad with some gesso.

 Not knowing what to do with it I took some inspiration from

Ashli over at Purple Mailbox and whacked some up into pieces.

I did have to ponder it some on where to go from there.

 I lined the strips up and on the square ones I punched out

a butterfly and flower and used the positive and negative space.

I also decided to highlight some areas with watercolor because Ashli made 

it look really easy. And I can honestly say - her easy is very deceiving.

I tried the coral and found it looked welll....

dumb.

So I decided grey - Ashli highlights quite a using a soft grey.

Well my grey was anything but soft.

And wasn't I baffled.

 Therefore I got a mess going on and there's really no going back since

I used so much water the paper was tearing and I needed an emergency fix.

Therefore, I punched more flowers and glued them over the
rips and tears and

that sort of worked, I also decided that some

gelatoes were needed and I grabbed my onion bag for some texture.

WELL...the gelato picked up the excess from the onion bag

and that lovely teal I was using turned dark - because that's what happens

when you don't clean your onion bag.

It was exciting that the texture hid the rips and tears quite well.

 I do have to admit the darker version works and I totally embraced it,

because the alternative was to start all over again.

 I did splatter the watercolors around the page and that helped

hide some of the other sins going on.

 Tossing in some sequins helped hide quite a few sins

by putting them out there so to speak.

And it all came together rather nicely. There's a piece of

light pink toile behind the bow that's casting all sorts of shadows.

It perfectly reflects Annie's sturdy but dainty little legs doing ballerina moves.

And those tiny feet - ya just want to bite them.

Love how it turned out - I have more of that pastel paper leftover

so I'll need to think of more ways to use it.
I also have a huge pack of watercolor paper ready to go.

I used recollections 8.5x11 cardstock with some punches,
studio calico alphas and sequins

and gelato and watercolors.

The aftermath of a series of disasters

I hate this stencil and why I continue to use it 

totally baffles me.

It has never worked out from Day 1

 though I might be leaning toward operator error I'm still not convinced it isn't evil.

Oh I spritsed, painted and daubed to no avail on other projects. I basically ended up deep sixing most of them. However, hope springs eternal.

I had this page almost done when I decided that it needed something more.

All due respect to the stupid stencil I laid against the page, it looked like it would fill the void because heaven forbid there be a couple of "blank spots on my page. In hindsight, I should've just stapled the stencil to the page. However, I would've needed two for balance you know. And in checking out the end result,  I thought the page looked really dumb and couldn't figure out how to fix it. 

Being in a really really annoyed mood didn't help.

So I plucked out some bazzil and stamped the brick because I liked that. I then proceeded to drop the newly stamped paper on the floor and rolled over it trying to retrieve it. Once retreived I managed to spill coffee all over it. 

 I really should've called it a day.

But I persevered.

 Because darnit I wanted to make a page and no scrapper worth his/her salt

tosses in the patterned paper.

In deference to all the manmade and natural disasters I had going on, I decided to keep it simple.

And it worked for the most part as I had bir, allowing me to complete the page

without anything untoward rearing its ugly head.

I did add the "celebrate" stamp this morning - erring on the side of caution and waiting

overnight to make sure the bad juju left the building.

I was going to add it to the other side of the long yellow card,

but I didn't want to press my luck. 

bwack bwack. 

LOL!!

Today I shall endeavor to create a page where disasters would not be noticeable.

My foot, is doing pretty good.

I need to learn to walk again - my gait is more like a waffling crab

than a, dare I say it, normal pace. 

Its weird when your brain has you muttering

"walk, walk, walk"

in a cadence.
