Went a bit crazy with the paints.

I'm not sure why because it was awhile ago, but
I know I had a really good reason.
Or maybe I was playing because I was tired of being
boring. LOL.
Anyway, using some Dylusions I added
quite a few colors to an otherwise white page.
I fussy cut out the map and did a lot of stamping as well.
Well isn't it supposed to be messy?
Nailed it!

This turned out to be a favorite camp because it was
so unique. Very fun camping in the sand.
And it wasn't as crazy as I thought it would be.
Sand did not get everywhere.

My thought was I took pix of this camp because it was different
and fun. Why did I not think of adding a photos
to the other camps, hmmm?
It would be helpful in the future when we're looking at
returning to some of the camps we enjoyed
to explore further.

Well DOH. 😮

Started on the Alaska Photos

Picked up these post cards somewhere
in Alaska.
Love them and may incorporate them later.

Used up the last of my PL page protectors in this format
for these photos.
Went hunting them down last night and found
similar but not these.
What is up with the switch???
Because I want to do one on Denali with all
the animals in this format.
Oh well.
Change is good right???
Kept everything sweet and simple
and need to fix the deers eyeball when I get home.
I miss my 12x12 pages already.
Sigh.

TN - Favorite youngest son & new baby

I was so glad we could meet up with
Shane who was passing through
on his way to Connecticut - and was able
to park and hang out with us through the evening.
Fed him some Jersey pizza.
Yum!
Studio Calico and Tim Holtz was happening for
this page as well as a few punches.
This little guy is our newest nephew and he's
sooooooo beautiful.
Wrapped up in the blanket I made for him
and also wearing the cute outfit
I found.
Pink fresh from my Hipkit and some Tim Holtz wrapped this
page up nicely.

TN - I keep forgeting about journaling spots

It worked for around the page but not so much
on the Labor day one but since its
mostly family - they should be known.
Riiiighhht!
Using fun die cuts and premades.
Pink Fresh boy-love the paper but its
not as bright and colorful as their other lines.
The camera paper has been in my stash forever
and I believe it might be Studio Calico.
You can check out the behind the scenes post here
to get all the deets on herding squirrels.
LOL.

TN - Hidden Journaling

Was able to meet up with Favorite Eldest Son
and had a wonderful visit.
Dined at the Red Arrow Restaurant and
hung out at our new home.
Because of the size of the photo I
just tucked some journaling in that envelope
that works so well on the pages.
Got some Tim Holtz words going on as well as
his bottle caps.
I love those bottle caps.
Tom, Gail and I also stood in line - an hour
minimum wait to devour the most famous and best
lobster rolls ever.
A lot of Food Network peeps endorsed Red's.
If you ever get there it is worth the wait.
So I'm getting a bit doily crazy but they are so pretty
and do pull everything together.
And those crabs (I don't have a lobster anything) had
to be the highlight and it's an itty bitty
little punch my pal Holli gifted me.
Perfect.

TN - Double spread

Ha!
I'm so getting the hang of this.
I printed the photo as a 3x5 but it was still too big
for the pages so I whacked in half
and split it across the page because I wanted
all 4 peeps to show up.
I took the 2-sided paper whacked it to 8x3.75
and used both sides -which is soooo pretty
and work together well.
Added a bit of Tim Holtz and my own
journaling - shazam.
Love how it turned out.

PinkFresh, Hip Kit, Studio Calico.
Still working on the photography part.

TN - Meeting up with the Grandkids

We've been meeting up with them one-by-one
and of course having a great time
and taking pix.
Hung out with Amelia and the boys after football
was called off - we went and had ice cream.
It was delicious and fun.
I'm also passing off albums that I've done of
all of them and they all took great delight in looking at them.
Although they don't seem to be delighted here LOL.
Love her face and that ice cream cone.
I'm getting the hang of things now! woohoo!
Pink Fresh, Hip Kit, Studio Calico
more or less.

A couple of Traveler's Notebook pages

But to begin with I rearranged a few things like
putting my computer and printer on the ledge freed up
a lot of room on the table - which it looks like
this is going to be my spot and
utilizing all the space underneath it as well.
I will have another cabinet in the slide near the kitchen
but that won't happen until we actually move in.
 In the meantime...
I rearranged my tool box, and organized it way better
than it was, and took all the embellishments
out of the zippered pouches I had them in
to see everything better because plowing through
all the pouches was frustrating.
I did 2 pages and I really need to figure out how to
photograph these pages.
Learning curve....
I did bring the sissix die cut machine but only brought
the long cutting pad - thinking that's all I need.
Well.....
It doesn't cut the "cookie cutter" type dies. 😐
So I traced them out and cut them myself.
However, note to self: when we go live bring all the pieces LOL.
I think this is going to work out.
I'm still feeling my way.
A combination of Studio Calico, Hipkit and Pink Fresh.
Amazing how they all work well together.

Finally was able to sit down and scrap

Here is my set up right now and it's sort of temporary
because we haven't fully moved in.
This is our shakedown cruise and lots of things are moving
around and changing.
Also, because we'll still be living in our house
while we downsize, and I'll still be scrapping at the house,
I haven't moved in any permanent storage so
I'll be scrapping on the fly.
Also testing out new sizes with traveler's notebooks
and 8.5x11 size with project life pockets.
Now I have to figure out how to photograph them LOL!
I don't know why my PL stuff looks "heavy" when
other's look so light and airy.
Sigh.

A mix of Studio Calico and Pink Fresh
and maybe some Hip Kit.

Scrappy pages on the road

I have to tell you I'm struggling with the
scrapping on the road.
It appears I brought WAY more than I need and yet,
nothing seems to work.
Heavy sigh.
The Lincoln museum, tomb and home were really amazing.
If you ever get to Springfield you need to check it out.
Just be aware - not to much else to do.
I kept things to a minimum because really nothing worked
and I wanted to be respectful.
 Grand Portage was fun.
Lots to see and very informative.
 Roosevelt National park was beautiful.
I couldn't decide on photos.
So Maybe I'll do more at home.
So we did go moose hunting and not a moose in sight.
However, how can that adorable moose
not be used.

If any of you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them.
I am not doing things in order which is a relief mojo wise.
However, bringing all the wrong things...
according to me... isn't helping and then using
only a few things out of the way too much I brought.
Check it out for yourself LOL.

All my stuff.
You see those really cool zippered pockets.
There's like 10 of them chockful of stuff.
Just sayin....

Got some scrappy pages done

Whine ALERT!
I seriously brought too much stuff and while I
did get nine pages done, it was
painful.
I spent a lot of time looking for things, rearranging
things and hunting for things I laid
down 2 minutes ago.
Also, I apologize for the quality of the photos
but I have to strike while the internet is hot.

So far my decision to use up my Pink Fresh stash
has worked out.
I went to 4 Michael stores out here to pick up
my favorite pocket pages and none
of them had it.
Sigh.
It appears they're not stocking PL pocket pages in their stores.
I decided to use the campground map for this page
of my scrappy spot.
It was a beautiful day, albeit a bit windy, to scrap outside.

Picked up these free post cards and decided to pop
them in this pocket page.
They fit perfect and I'm leaving the backsides alone
so peeps can read the chockful of info on the back.

I do love these patches from the parks and I think
I've picked up one from each park - or close to it.
They also have coins too.
I had almost caught up LOL.
As if that's even possible, but hopefully I'll
get another break soon.

2016 Leaf Peeping travel album completed!!

Yay!!!
I did have to finish it at home - mostly due
to boondocking a bit too much
and our batteries ran down
and because we would hook up at night,
eat, clean up, go to bed, get up, eat, clean up and leave.
Not necessarily in that order.
SO......
What I didn't mention before is that this smash book was
for a wedding. So I pulled out all the pages
that didn't work out and some I glued in to cover up a page
that really didn't go.
These are the ones I didn't fill up and I really
didn't want them in the book blank.
Tommy Traveling Pants had a map that was out of date
so I whacked it up to put in the beginning
and at the end.
There were notebook pages that I used
them to journal as we went.
What is written on the page does not at times
necessarily correspond with the
page next to it.
I'm okay with that.
 Smashed a couple of receipts.
And I did photograph campgrounds so we can
 return if we want.

The card in the bag I left as is because I really
loved the sentiments on it
and the actually went with everything.

I tried to keep it simple and I also used a few
things that didn't travel with us
when I completed the last few pages at home.
I'm okay with that too.
Love how it turned out.
Used an assortment of papers, punches, die cuts and stamps.
