Another challenge in da bag!!! with my pal Brooke

I have to admit that I am really really REALLY enjoying

these challenges - totally out of my comfort zone.

Both ways for sure.

I really love the sketch and again, took it right down the middle.

There are 3 PP in there Tim Holtz papers and for

my critter a TH die. 

A bunny.

I must've bought at least 5 bunnies this year.
 As for the glitter well I decided to keep it really low key.

😂

I had to use an animal and this was just too much fun.

And it was a new never used die.

Quirky.

The photo is a drive by of a ghost town on I-10.

Love how it turned out and I'm okay

with someone in the future wondering why there's 

a rabbit with a glitter carrot.

Getting crafty with pinecones

We have a lot of pine trees in the backyard.

That bear lots of pine cones.

And every year I say I'm going to do something.

So this year I did.

I have a TON of supplies 

and I know that surprises you - so I dug out a variety

because I wasn't sure which way I'd roll.

 I started with paint.

And some glitter.

I must say that the deck looks lovely in glitter.

As did my hands, pants and hair.

 And the paint made a happy little pine cone and I love that color blue.

Or Turquoise or blue green.

I have lots of blue, turquoise pine cones.

 Next I broke out the stickles and it looked very pretty.

However squeezing it out bit by bit was annoying and time consuming.

So...I dumped the entire bottle out and commenced to painting it on.

 Painting worked out well for both Stickles and Liquid Pearl.

 I did make a variety until I ran out of something.

I used up a lot of supplies that had been sitting in the drawer

for a long, long, long time.

 The Stickles made it blingy.

 And the glitter made it sugary.

I really love both looks.

I also kept some of the pinecones pure.

Love that rustic look.

I used jute as the hanger and made it extra long.

And used hot glue.

Hot glue is like eating French Onion Soup.

And it ain't pretty.

I'm still pulling strings off of things.

 The beautiful bows were from ribbon from grandson Lou's shower.

I still have some left if you're interested.

However, its down to the colors yellow and blue.

So this is the case of about 40 pine cones all done up....

ready for our Christmas party that all my pals

can pick and choose whichever ones they like.

I did keep some for my trees and they look amazing as you can see above.

Anyway I used about 20 bottles of stickles

and 3 bottles of glitter.

I still have paint remaining

 (big bottles).

And you thought I was slacking off.

Transparency & Silver

Switching gears in the metals and going with silver.

I also love this photo too and wish I had taken it as well. Miss Amelia stuffing her own stockings. LOL!

It needed special papers so I went with these Christmas papers that were in my Studio Calico kit and the transparency was just made to go together. I also found in my stash some silver paper.

I kept going back and forth about the kraft and in the end it seemed more right than off white. The trees are not quite white and not quite beige. Total conundrum - so kraft it is. Broke out an edge punch too.

Going all out. I cut out a circle with deckle scissors and found it looked plain. Broke out the sewing machine and stitched - twice. I then broke out some glimmermist.

I did a lot of breaking out.

However, the edge on the circle needed something too, so I went to my broke out stash and got some silver liquid pearl and painted around the edges. AND, I didn't make a big mess.

Shocked you I know.

More breaking out came in the form the of the arrow as I broke out my die cut and let'r rip. Found some stash silver ribbon and it accented everything perfectly. Got some tags going on and popped in the red flower and sequins for a pop of color.

The title is from Basic Grey alphas from long, long ago and they look better in person.

So here's a close up.

I picked up the red from the tree lights and skirt. And I love the little flag I punched out of denim ribbon - its to the left of the flower under the ribbon.

I love that stamp and have used it often.

Studio Calico of course.

When this photo came over the iphone I swooned.

Its just perfect.

I printed in 3x3 so it wouldn't be too pixilated

and than broke out the deckle scissors

because I remember (and still have some) old B&W

photos that have that kind of edging.

I think its cool and worked perfect in making this photo look dainty.

I tossed it on the background paper it looked perfect.

And it didn't need a lot to showcase it.

Found this big envelope that I had trouble using in the past

(thank goodness) and used it as a mat.

ooooooooo I KNOW.

I wanted to keep things simple so I put a little matching

cluster in the corner and found some

Sassafrass lass that had the perfect colors for the tag

and I actually used up the last of the ribbon in my SC kit.

And then came the title.

Love it.
