Envelope from Studio Calico

 Each month upon stalking the UPS dude, my Studio Calico kit comes.
And all the goodies are protected in this envelope. And I saved each and every one of them.

Why?

I honestly didn't know because I really haven't thought about them much except I knew enough to save them. And in thinking the possibilties now. 

OH my.

So my first thought when I had to transport this amazing printer's tray I had completed in time to make this trip, was hmmm......just maybe it would fit because SC packs a lot of goodies in there.

And wow, it slid in there perfectly along with an 8x8 page.

And isn't that kind of lame - one page.

And because I waited until the last minute to discover this, I didn't decorate it.

My bad.

And NO, I'm not handing in my scrapbooking badge because of that.

Printer's tray challenge and 'lift' completed

Not bad for the first time out and I'm glad I had a blueprint

from the 2012 CK magazine.

I did learn a few things.

Spray paint the color on - to avoid streaks (thanks Lisa!)

unless you're going for the shabby chic look.

If you're going to cover up the sections - don't paint them.

If you're going to put papers on them - either make

the photos smaller OR just put the paper on a couple of sections.

Next time - I'm going to make the photos bigger

to avoid gaps.

I used simple stories patterned paper that you can't see except the outside

embellishments and straws because the photos covers them up.

Got some Studio Calico wood veneers, ticket and QK crab.

I'm really quite pleased. 

Hopefully Jill will be too.

*WHINING ALERT*

I completed this printer's tray under much duress - 

last night was not a good night.

And it was a LONG night.

I had restless boot syndrome all.night.long.

My foot itched, twitched and ached.

And no amount of iBprofen, aspercreme and icing helped.

And when I finally drifted off, I'd twitch like I was electrocuted 

and wake right up. I finally just gave it up.

So after a restless no-sleep night - I didn't work out because

I was meeting up with my best pal Barbara whom I 

haven't seen or talked to in - like forever and I didn't want

to sleep walk through that.

Working on it.

Working on a scrappy project

Which is taking time. I worked out yesterday and I'm really feeling it and since I also scrap standing up and *whining here* its really annoying that I have to pace myself. Therefore, I think I can stretch this puppy out for a few posts. LOL.

So get ready!

If you remember from Throwback Scrapbooking Thursday I picked some promising "lifts".

One of the them was the printer's tray.

Well right out of the gate,  their's is white and mine's not. 

And I've had it forever, well ok a couple years at least, because honestly, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with them. I used a baby wipe and found it was just a smidge dirty from hanging out under my desk for a couple whiles.

I decided that I'd go with white because I'm a copycat but mostly because the recipient has white decor. One coat wasn't getting it even though I was going for the shabby chic look. I love shabby chic- it makes me swoon.

 I decided another coat was needed with maybe a couple more paint overs for fun because I felt it looked - well smeared.

I stopped here because I was tired and really wasn't feeling it. Now I'm wondering if I should've left it black. However, since I was tired and annoyed that I was tired, I decided to let it perculate and see if I'm feeling it later. Although in hindsight I'll be putting pattern papers in there so I maybe didn't need to paint the entire thing. 

Now I all I need to do is pick pattern papers, embellishments and photos.

The easy part.
