Make Waves - 6x6 mini album

This 6x6 paper pad was an impulse buy.

I loved it the minute I laid eyes on it.

And no matter what...

I was buying it even though I knew I'd never really use it

personally, because I really don't know why LOL.

However, made a new friend that loves the beach 

and was in a creative mood so.....

she's getting a mini album

and the title totally fits her "Make Waves".

This paper pad by P3 whom I never heard of

(but I'm not really cutting edge anymore)

gives you 3 sets of the same papers 

that I thought was cool because I did a lot

of fussy cutting and pop dotting.

And because this is an album cover page with pop dots

I added transparency to kind of shield it.

Hopefully.

I wanted to shabby chic it up because it practically begged for it

so I cut my own chipboard pages and they may

or may not be a tad wonky.

And I mussed up the edges on the papers.

Also included, are quite a few embellishments and 

journaling spots that need fussy cutting.

Ah man didn't see that scrap of better when 

I was taking pix and I already gave my friend the album.

Sigh.

So I used every paper at least once and

sometimes twice and

whacked a lot of stuff out.

I did add a couple of my own die cuts 

that may or may not work well.

Love the dimension pop dots give 

and hopefully she won't be afraid to add

photos and journaling.

Of course I forgot to photo the back of the book

but its just white gesso over chipboard

a tiny envelop that came in the embellishmehts

and a stamp that says

'created just for you.'

 

Mini Wedding Album

Of course it's the one on the beach and of course

I'm using beachy stuff.

I totally had an ah-ha moment when I first started.

I glued paper to the front page, didn't like it

and ripped it off.

AND THEN - it became a shabby chic moment.
Since it was a gift, I added 

ALL MY FAVORITE PICTURES.

 Mostly, because I could of course, and because

there were a finite number of pages 

(or it gets cumbersome and ugly) 

I wanted to get everyone in and tell a story.

 I'm not going to mention here that one of the 

pages got flipped and was now out of order so I'm

rolling with I planned it that way 😏

 Those really are shells and I'm worried about

their shelf life, but paper ones just didn't look the same.

 I did send everyone all my pix so they can pick and choose

their favs and are so not stuck with mine.

Of course the back needed just a little something.

This was a mix of paint, papers (I can't ID - but either

Studio Calico or Pink Fresh or Basic Grey

it's all I have in my stash and assorted stamps, 

Tim Holtz words and seashells, netting and sea glass from M's.

The bride and groom loved it.

Whew.

Working on a scrappy project

Which is taking time. I worked out yesterday and I'm really feeling it and since I also scrap standing up and *whining here* its really annoying that I have to pace myself. Therefore, I think I can stretch this puppy out for a few posts. LOL.

So get ready!

If you remember from Throwback Scrapbooking Thursday I picked some promising "lifts".

One of the them was the printer's tray.

Well right out of the gate,  their's is white and mine's not. 

And I've had it forever, well ok a couple years at least, because honestly, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with them. I used a baby wipe and found it was just a smidge dirty from hanging out under my desk for a couple whiles.

I decided that I'd go with white because I'm a copycat but mostly because the recipient has white decor. One coat wasn't getting it even though I was going for the shabby chic look. I love shabby chic- it makes me swoon.

 I decided another coat was needed with maybe a couple more paint overs for fun because I felt it looked - well smeared.

I stopped here because I was tired and really wasn't feeling it. Now I'm wondering if I should've left it black. However, since I was tired and annoyed that I was tired, I decided to let it perculate and see if I'm feeling it later. Although in hindsight I'll be putting pattern papers in there so I maybe didn't need to paint the entire thing. 

Now I all I need to do is pick pattern papers, embellishments and photos.

The easy part.
