July 4th tags for the Grands-Update

 - Some assembly required...

Mostly cardstock with a dash of vintage photo ink 

around which it looks like I forgot

to do on the kraft paper.

This took an assembly line (though I did a run-through on one card)

to see if what's in my head translates on paper.

The stars and liberty bell are 

old Quickutz dies. 

The itty bitty ones pop out of big USA letters so I

now have a bazillion USA letters in white

in case you're interested.

I was debating if I actually wanted to put them on a card

and decided nah...but It need something.

So I decided to maybe make it like a tag but it needed

some edging so I pulled in the color

from the bell - which I did remember to distress.

One in a row.

I love the banner sentiment even though it's obvious.

But I remembered I had this cool post card stamp that would

make it kind of a really cool tag.

I added some stamping to the back of the card

and I thought it turned out pretty cool.

It was very exciting back in the day getting a 

personal letter in the mail.

I wish that I had kept them all but I did find this

gem, again, hidden in my photo box and from Nana.

 I loved writing letters, but all my aunts that would

correspond with me are no longer with us.

Quite sad all the way around.

 My gram wrote to me as well, we wrote to each other everyday.

And I can't tell you how much that meant when we

moved from PA to FL -

sooooo homesick. I wish I'd come across

one of her letters but alas.....

So I'm so glad I got to read this post card again and and also

get to showcase this as letter writing

seems to be a dead art.

Sad.

PL- Sort of a double page spread

They are back-to-back.

And that works. 

Gettysburg - it was soooo hard to pick photos

and get in the stuff I want.

Good thing about PL - you can drop and add later.

 Love these patches and I've been picking

them up wherever I can.

I kept the original packaging because I

seriously couldn't do any better with the backing

needed for the size of the pocket.

Kept it rustic with kraft paper and I've also

started picking up post cards because they sometimes

say it better than I could.

I'm not sure if I need any more photos because the

story should be about the battlefield memorial and not

my photos.
